We are NOT in the business of selling firearms or performing modifications on them. Do not attempt to copy at home anything you see in our videos. Great little gun. I work at a shop selling firearms. We sell a lot of these. I own one myself but its the performance center version. What frustrates me the most is how 90 percent of these guntubers say its only for women or grandmothers. I did multiple combat tours and own multiple pistols all the way up to .44 mag. This is a great little pistol for ANYONE who likes a good carry or home defense gun. Period.
That drives me crazy. There is no disadvantage to an easy-to-rack slide but it could save your life. This is an excellent self defense tool.
Preach. I’ve had the ez 380 and it saved my life in a home intruder/self defense situation. 🙏🏾
C'mon. It's considered a womans gun or for those with weak aka arthritic hands because. THATS WHOM IT WAS DESIGNED FOR. That doesn't mean men can't use it but there are better aka more powerful, more ammo, greater range etc guns that men can easily use.
Talked my wife into one of these for every day concealed carry a couple a couple of years ago. She absolutely loves hers and it really helped her to build her confidence in her shooting abilities.
I have the 380 and it is my regular carry. Love it!!
What holster do you use? Thanks.
I bought the 9ez for me and the 380 for her. The 380 is a kitten compared to the 9. I enjoyed the 380 so much that I will be getting one for myself.
Good drinking game: take a shot every time Hickok45 says “easy”. Just don’t go out to the range afterwards!
12 hrs ago in a video from 40 secs ago💀
I second that 👍👍
I’d be dead mate😧
@@beefy905I think the "gong club" (of whatever it is, can't remember) they get the vids first
More like, take a shot IF he misses a shot. 😂
Would take a lifetime to get drunk lol. He doesn't miss very often
I bought mine a couple of years ago and love it. The ease of operation is great. And especially loading is so easy also. I have a mag loader but don't need it, don't use it, not on this weapon. I never call them guns. I guess that's from being in the military. I also bought the belly band holster and this weapon is so light and it fits right in. I recommend this EZ 380 to anyone, especially the older crowd that may be wanting protection in their older years. Thanks for the video #2. I am 80 years young myself.
You know if there is a chapter 2 for a gun Hickok45 likes it.
Sometimes that's the case. Sometimes it's simply because a certain firearm is very popular, or it could be due to the fact that we had some issues in the first video and I want to give it another chance. Just depends.
@@hickok45 feeling honored by your reply sir.
I have one of each. My wife carries the 380 and me the 9. Both great shooting pistols and EZ to operate. Great video as usual.
My favorite pistol of all time. The biggest advantage this pistol brings to me is how little work is required to stay competent with it. It is very difficult for many people to just get to a place where they can actually shoot and practice with any firearm. This pistol is very shootable and you can hit even at speed so much better than with a comparable size pistol in a larger caliber. What matters to me in a defensive pistol is "getting the hit" you MUST GET THAT HIT THE FIRST TIME. Wish this would come out with a slightly larger (wider) grip for a 10 or 12 shot capacity...nothing else just increase the capacity dont mess with the rest of it, it is great just the way it is you will just screw it up if you do. This pistol used to have an annoying problem of stove-piping the last round. I noticed this pistol didnt do that...has the company fix the newer magazines ...does anyone know?
I have 3k rounds through mine with no malfunctions. Highly recommended for any type of carry. The grip safety is no issue whatsoever. No need to think about it at all. If you pick the gun up to shoot it, you will depress the safety just fine.
I don’t understand why people don’t like Grip safety’s. It is an extra layer of safety.
@Henry-yf2np Because kids can squeeze it and pull the trigger although the newer striker fired handguns with just a trigger safety aren't much better in that regard and it's nor hard to keep it in a spot no kids can reach it either. Personally I don't mind it either and I ask that question myself
@@dubjubs First of all, you should train your children to be competent with firearms. Secondly, if your child is young, they should not have access to firearms. Thirdly, it is precisely the opposite. The child will have to pick up the gun and hold it properly in order to pull the trigger. If you just pull the trigger with the gun sitting there, it won’t go off.
Same I’ve probably put close to 2k rounds through mine no problem, no issue with the grip safety either.
@@dubjubsthat's the dumbest shit I've heard all day. Clearly you don't understand firearms. Henry said all that needs to be said. Train your children to respect them and understand them and for young children like toddlers, keep em locked up. If you train with the EZ, the grip safety is not an issue.
I love my EZ in 380. So much so it’s become my favorite gun in my collection. Anything that makes going to the range, simpler, more enjoyable and EASIER is a plus in my book.
The .380 EZ is great for getting beginners started. Took my daughter and son-in-law shooting and they loved the EZ!
LOVE LOVE LOVE my EZ .380 for EDC. So much so that I bought it in .22 and in 9mm.
I got one of the performance center versions for my fiancés first gun. Had never held a gun before. I also paid for her to take a couple full days training at our local, and very awesome, range. She’s very good with it now, especially since she shoots at least 200 per week through it. She’s tiny. She handles it very well. A very practical gun.
I got the shield 2.0 and I have to agree it is a pretty agile gun and very lightweight as well mine comes with a laser that I never use but it is a cool gimmick!
Love your content sir!
My wife started with it and she for the life of her couldn't get good enough to justify carrying it safely so it's my edc. It's just so agile and easy to use. Rarely malfunctions on the last round and with proper ammo never fails to feed or eject. Great little machine.
You’re a legend, Hickok!
Now that I'm over 70 I've noticed it's hard to work the slide on my little Taurus 738 TCP. Even my Hellcat is harder than it used to be. I got to see these EZ guns at my local gun store and I agree, the 380 EZ is the better choice than the 9mm EZ. I loved everything about that gun, and if I ever buy another handgun, it will be the 380 EZ.
Ran into issue racking slide after hand surgery on both hands with a CZ75 D model. Picked up a EZ 380 PF and love it, it pairs well with the Sig P238. Also picked up a EZ 30 Super Carry and it is nice, but recoil is a little harder on the hands post surgery but manageable.
Wow the .380 did reach the gong. Took it 20 seconds, but it got there.
Thanks for another great video Hickok45
more gun manufacturers are adopting the ez method case in point the ruger security 380.........i think it's an idea that was long overdue kudos to finally listening to the customers .
The best gun is one that functions reliably and that you can reliably shoot well.
Thanks for this. Might have to find one for my dad. He's been shooting his sccy a lot but you can tell it's messing with him a little. This should be a lot better for his hands..
I just got this couple weeks ago and shot it for the first time this past Saturday. It’s THE one. Like finding the right shoe that fits just right. It’s comfortable to shoot and accurate. One thing to mention it is NOT an 8+1. You have to lock the slide to insert a magazine with 8 rounds.
I'm typically an M&P kinda guy and I haven't shot the Shield EZ but I do own the Ruger Security 380 Lite Rack and I LUV it and prefer it over the Shield EZ, I don't like the palm safety on it and lower capacity...
Fantastic as always- thanks Hickok
I'm considering one of these now for this crippled old man. Thanks for letting us know about it.
Ur a legend Hickok forever and ever
My wife bought a .380 EZ about 2 years ago because she has trouble racking the slide on other guns and has trouble pulling the trigger on a DA revolver. She likes it except for the grip safety which sometimes causes her problems. I don't like the grip safety either but have no real problem with it. Other than that I like everything about the EZ and sometimes leave my Taurus 9mm at home and take her EZ when I go to the range without her. It's just such a pleasant gun to shoot, and accurate too. She recently bought the new Ruger Security .380 and it's a nice gun and holds 15 rounds and is extremely accurate, but it has problems with feeding some hollow-point rounds, whereas the S&W runs flawlessly with anything you put in it.
Ha! The Ending. Great gun for “ da fence” classic 👍🏼
The sound it makes is beautiful.
Got one of those for my wife. She loves it!
Appreciate all your videos. Your the JOHN WAYNE of guns. Wealth of knowledge.
I don't have a lot of experience with handguns, I qualified almost 40 years ago on a .38SP snub nose in the USAF, so I'm definitely not recoil sensitive LOL, but when my state instituted Constitutional Carry I went out bought this gun. I also now own a CZ 75 9mm and a Beretta 80X, and the Shield EZ is a little snappy, but it's so thin and light it's what I carry when I do carry, and I find it pretty accurate. I really like it. Also, I CANNOT load a full mag on the other two guns without a loader, no problem with the EZ.
Hi Mr. Hitchcock!! From Argentina : i really like your videos, very very educatives. One single quest: the 380acp it's good or not to house defense( i know that my 45 acp it's better....or 357Mag).
Very thanks to your Know how.
I'm an old gal and I'm really wowed by this particular pistol. I like everything about it. I'll be selling a 6mm Remington rifle in the near future and I'm looking forward to then buying myself an M&P Shield EZ .380.
Nice gun m&p 380 ez thanks for sharing Hickok45
Yeah, that was great, tha ks for sharing
All the videos are great
Well, howdy from Oklahoma, friend Hickock. I bought one of these 2-3 years ago on my son's recommendation after he'd shot his girlfriend's. I'm 74 with arthritis in my thumbs and racking, recoil and loading is generally painful. But I've had this .380 EZ now for quite a number of trips to the range and have had - knock wood - no failure to feed, fire or eject with any ammo at all. I added some fluorescent green paint to the front sight to help accuracy with my old eyes and it worked. I'm very happy with this firearm. It's also not hard to conceal at my preferred 4 - 5 o'clock position. Good gun.
Love your style hickok
Long time fan! Just wanted to give you a heads up, jic you didnt know. Kimber released the K6XS T6 aluminum framed, Ultralight .38spl +P. 15oz msrp $679. This was the upgrade i was waiting for! Cant wait to see you review it! Hope you can soon! Thanks for reading!
I'd like to try that. Didn't know they were making that.
I'm a somewhat new gun owner and I bought the EZ 380 because I read the low recoil would be less intimidating for new shooters, and I must say I really like this gun; very comfortable and easy to operate, pardon the pun. I bought a second EZ in 9mm last year.
I gave my mom one of these. She loves it.
We have one of these we love it. Put a lot of rounds through it never had a jam or any problem at all and you can break it down clean it in and assemble it in your sleep.
Great job
I like the sights
Great informative video about a gun the way it is. Thank you. Unlike bias youtubers that show you a gun and immediately tell you the first 3 things you should change $$, and that there are other 7 others that are better than this one. This simple video is great. They will all get old get and need something like this some day, plan now for the future.
My first CCP is a shield ez in 9mm. I love it!
The Ruger security 380 is a lite rack with 15 rounds!
Nice .380. I know I'm enjoying my Ruger lcp max .380. Them make a good Ankle holster back up
Hickok!! I've never seen you shoot a .458 SOCOM. I think the Rifle Gods are summoning you!
Just seen you in the movie Strain 100. AND they used your range. When I seen you I said I know him. Can't be. Then you made the pun I hope he was not a subscriber. Loved it.
Excellent
Freakin' awesome. 💯
I love my EZ9. I’m going to find one in .380 now.
Your fingers show a lot of experience mate. That's trustworthy.
Just bought one of these for my wife since I was somewhat disappointed in the Ruger Security 380.
Sounds great for CC. Light, small, but also easy to control for a small pistol.
No review for Ruger Security 380?
I have the 380 mp. Love it
I like mine, now. Took a couple hundred rounds and a good scrubbing to get it to shoot reliably. At first, I was having at least one failure every magazine. Now, it shoots very reliably. But, I'll have to put another 200 rounds through it without a failure before I'll trust it enough to use it as a carry gun.
Hickok the top shooter 💯💥🎯💪
Very occasionally carry a PPK/s .380 as CCW, always carry ball ammo, hollow points never seem to expand. It’s heavier, but stays on target great for better second shots. 99% of the time carry my PPS 40 M1, sometimes my 40 S&W revolver as my New York reload. When traveling to unknown places, FNS40 is my bodyguard.
I thought about trying the 9mm version but have not yet. Not that I am short for pistols. Just thought my wife would like it due to the easier racking slide. That can be solved though with practice and using the correct technique.
Hickok põe a legenda pra gente aqui do Brasil fica mais fácil entender tudo, amei o vídeo 👊😎👏
My first gun I love it
Love .380....wish the ammo was cheaper
I know on his range next to the house the gong is at 80 yds.this range looks different. How far is that gong? And I love the m&p line...I own the .380 and 9mm. Love them!
My first smith and wesson was the ez 9, then the equalizer, then the csx
What your option between thw EZ and the Equalizer?
If you had to choose only 1 which would it be?
Thank you
God Bless
Hickok45 great Video presentation. You're a Fire Arms Rock Star!
It's on my nightstand.
I was thinking the Mac 10 is the best and love the 32 rounds for such a small gun there’s no chance I’m holding that with one hand maybe if I single fire😂
I have reverse shoulder replacements. They are put in from the front, the anterior rotator is removed. The one used for raking the slide . This would be an option for people like me
He called it a pussycat 🤣but he's right. Great gun that's probably overlooked by the "but 9mm is more powerful" crowd. Funny how some folks always mention the drawback of a weaker round but neglect to say the upsides.
I think this gun would be great to elderly and people with disabilities.Gun companies need to focus in this segment.
Sadly that's not where the market is
@@EDCtexan unfortunately it's true but would be great for elderly and people with disability for their own protection.
@@goldennhawk099 I definitely agree
I'd like to hear your thoughts on the Ruger Security 380 Lite Rack.
True “EZ” pistol
This is my daily carry on my waist but i also tote a uc lite .38 special in my carry bag for giggles.
I am a fan of the 32 ACP
My mom just got told she’s in remission from cancer after 10 years it’s amazing but the world is crazy all these shootings and stuff she wants to buy a gun and I think this might be her best bet for a easy gun to use with decent stopping power
Great Gun I Have Very Little Strength in My Arms Because Of Cancer The 380 EZ Just What I Needed I also Just Bought The M&P Shield 9 EZ I'm Happy with Both of My Only Complaint Is I Wish That They Would Make Magazines That Hold More Ammo
Smith & Wesson released a solution to that. The Equalizer! It’s practically the same size gun, but with a 15+1 capacity, optic ready and still features the EZ slide for easy racking!
Compare it to the Ruger Security-380 Lite Rack.
It’s June and this video looks like it’s fall. Is Hickok really in a time warp and we are just trying to catch up?😅
Grip squeeze is trouble for me. I'm small and have small hands. Sometimes my grip does not disengage the grip safety.
S+W has something for everyone. The .380 is not a wimp. imo
I think I heard a gong when he shot a pumpkin.
Disabled guy here!
While I think the EZ is by far the easiest gun to operate on the market. I found that it’s actually (for me) really hard to shoot. I have muscular dystrophy and my grip strength is just not very good. One of the hardest things for me with the EZ is that dang grip safety. It’s just not a good feature.
In my opinion as well. The .380 p365 and Ruger security .380 are by far easier to control and shoot.
Now I understand that disabilities vary from person to person. I feel this is more of a gun isn’t necessarily for disabled people but more for new shooters!
Use the chamber flag that came with the pistol. It has a hole that will fit over that little stub on the magazine. Easy on the thumb.
I never noticed that. I got one of these for my wife, and she likes it but has trouble loading it. Thanks.
Good day sir.
2 Hours ago? Winter downunder. I expect to see a few Northern Hemisphere trees bare down here, but in June in the US?
Yea, what's goin on here 🤨🕵️♂️ ... I guess fall started early in TN this year
You need to see if you can get your hands on a Ruger security. 380 I bought one. Feels good in the end but I haven't got to shoot it yet and I would like your opinion before I shoot it. That's all I got to say about that
Hickok45 can wear a slide out on a pistol and never been fired 200 rounds lol..
Nice 380 pistol, but, it needs to come in a MAX double stack mag version.
And S&W need to put on some Glock style sights with the 3-sided white line rear and a white square in front ,,,
The 3-dot system sucks.
Glock 42 is also very easy to shoot and it's 50% lighter weight and much smaller than the Smith. With a Tango Down +2 base plate the Glock 42 has the same capacity as the Smith. The slide is a little harder to rack, but not a lot harder. Maybe Glock will start to make a 10+1 capacity G42x
My wife traded her Glock 42 for the 380EZ. She hated the Glock, loves the EZ.
@@mastacow53 Why did she hate it?
@@Prepare2Survive We were dumb and didn't do our research. She wanted a small pistol and we bought a Glock, cause Glocks are "cool". She had a hard time racking the slide, but what she really hated was no safety. The EZ has a grip & a thumb safety.
@@mastacow53 Glocks actually have 3 different safeties. Same number of safeties as the S&W EZ. The only difference is 2 of the glock safeties are internal which is the drop safety and the firing pin block safety. The only external safety on the glock is the trigger safety. On the S&W EZ there's no trigger safety or drop safety so that's why they have the grip safety because it serves that same purpose. The S&W EZ also has the internal firing pin block safety the same as glock does. The thumb safety is optional, but because the model you have has the thumb safety that means your S&W EZ has a total of 3 safeties which is the same number all Glocks have. I do however agree that the S&W EZ is much easier to rack the slide, but with proper technique of holding the gun close to your body and pulling with one hand while at the same time pushing with the other hand, almost anyone can rack the slide on a G42. Plus there are also replacement back plates for the glock that have wings that stick out making it easier to grip the slide if your hands are wet or oily. I think the S&W EZ is very well built and shoots great, but for it's size the capacity is too low which is a negative when it comes to carry. For 380acp my top choices for carry are the Ruger LCP Max or the Glock 42 with the tango down mag extensions. For having fun at the range the S&W EZ is the best pick and maybe that's more important because a gun you're more likely to shoot more often means it's a gun you'll be more familiar with when you really need it.
They need to offer the Equalizer and CSX in 380.
For those that have both... Will the 9mm magazine actually fit in the .380, and vice versa? Will the slide fully close with the wrong ammo inserted? Just asking from a safety standpoint. (similar to .223 & .300 BO) I've seen the results of chambering 300BO in a .223/5.56 barrel.
Good day Sir, how about the Beretta APX A1 tactical?
My wife’s firearm! Admittedly I steal it sometimes to go to the range with.
Would Be cool if you can review Kalashnikov usas new red dot sights no one has done a review on those
Hope it comes out in 45.
