I’ve watched every day since before Flynn was born and I never comment but when you told Flynn “it’s brave to cry”, it really got me. Little comments like that are what make you such an amazing mum and when I have children I hope I can be a little bit like you ❤️❤️

Yes especially since boys were always taught to man up and not show their emotions cuz it's seen as weak but it's actually the opposite 💪

I had to tell that to my grandpa last week, that it's okay to cry, even if you're the ''family chief'' as he calls himself. My grandma was diagnosed with an incurable cancer and we were told we only have a few months left with her, and it's heartbreaking for us all, but especially him, as they've been married for 67 years. It's sad that his generation of men were told they were not allowed to cry, I'm so grateful that we live in a world now where boys are taught to show and discuss about their emotions. It will be so helpful to them on the long run!

she's clearly saying "all done" because she's in pain from having her hair pulled into those tight pigtails for no reason, it's not cute or funny.

It always amazes me how Flynn Wes and Maisy ALL ended up with blonde hair and blue eyes, that must be a strong recessive gene! They are all so adorable! ❤
Not that recessive really, I think Colleen said her grandfather had blue eyes and blonde hair and he brother Christopher has green eyes.
There's a bit of a joke in my family that the "Sholl" gene is incredibly strong. Almost everyone on my dad's side looks like a "Sholl". All my dad's siblings, and all our cousins, almost all look incredibly similar. My mum has very dark, brown hair, dark brown eyes and an olive-y skintone. Me and my sister both popped out the spitting image of our dad, blonde (now an Anglo Saxon mousy brown hair), blue eyes and white as a sheet 😂 We get freckles and legs that look purple because you can see so many veins! However, our youngest sister takes more after my mum, olive skin, dark eyes, but she's managed to keep the blonde hair! Mum's went dark brown when she was maybe 6 or 7 😂

@@shadowkissed2370 It's still a recessive trait. Do you remember how punnet squares work? I don't ask that in a snarky backhanded way btw, I just barely remember and figured maybe you also don't have a strong memory of that. Even if they had a 100% chance of being blonde, it's still a recessive trait. Same with blue eyes. A good example being unibrows. Most people don't have unibrows, but unibrows are a dominant trait, while having two seperate eyebrows is recessive.

@@mizlindsayk yes it is called a recessive trait, however the blue eyes and blonde hair are not that recessive in Colleen's family in the sense that "there was no sign of the genes for many generations back".

I'm a 4K teacher and I loved how you described to Flynn how you can be scared and brave at the same time! I remember you looking for book recommendations and a great story about mixed emotions is "I'm Happy-Sad Today: Making Sense of Mixed-Together Feelings" by Lory Britain. It's a great story teaching children about how mixed emotions are okay. 📚😃

When you announced you were pregnant with flynn, I couldn't imagine you as a mother. Ofc I knew you were great with children but I just couldn't picture you with your own baby. Now I can believe you were childless just a few years ago and it is like a new level of Colleen was unlocked!!! Since you became a mother, you have gained all my respect!!!!

My childhood friend, and I grew up on the same street and we would always play pretty pretty princess. The funny part of that is she had two labs, a black lab, and a yellow lab, Abby and George. Whenever you start playing the game, Abby would lay in the middle of the board, as if she was to say, I’m the pretty pretty princess lol one of my core memories
