- Andy ties one of his favourite river flies for grayling and trout, the Improved Duracell Jig. Great in a team in a euro nymph or french / czech style team of flies, or fished on it's own New Zealand style or even under an indicator! A great fly for a learner or a beginner, but a must have for the avid grayling and trout flyfisher. Follow this step by step of how to tie the Improved Duracell Jig, and find the material list below!

Thanks for the sick music to:
hooksounds.com - you guys are the best!
Totally agree with your thinking on this fly.. looks great
Thanks very much! 👍👍
I always said I couldn’t be bothered tying my own flies-your two videos are making me think again! 👍
Thanks Robert! All about keeping it simple for me!
A really nice fly Andy 👍 I hope you and Ieva have a wonderful Christmas.
All the best, Tony.
You too Tony!
Another great video Andy! Hope you both have a very merry Christmas!
thanks Owen, same to you!
Nice fly. I haven’t tried jig flies yet but I hope to try soon. The body material I have is called body quill and looks very similar to what you are using. The Duracell looks like one worth trying.
Another great video keep em coming
Cheers Steve!
Nice one Andy. I like sparse hackles and from experience when the trout have pulled most of the hackles off the fly seems even more attractive to the fish. You don't need glue just raid I.B's nail varnish box. Your looking for hard as nails thought the ordinary stuff is almost as good.
hard as nails is cracking stuff, I had to explain that one to IB once in a Boots store, she thought I was going crackers!
another nice fly looks good. keep them coming. all the best to you both.
thanks James, very kind!
Incredibile elegant fly....👍
Looks good... now i need to get some more flytying stuff.... :-D
Thanks Martin! Let us know how it goes!
@@IBandAndyFishing sure will....
Lovely.
Thank you!
Nice one👍
Cheers James!
Is there an alternative for Nymph-It from another brand? Can't find this in Russia. What should I look for, what type of material?
textreme body fly UV is pretty close, it's thinner but the colour is not far off
@@IBandAndyFishing I found Textreme body fly UV, but there is no right color.
Textreme METAL BRAID UV/Bronze is available, is it different?
you could always use some of IB's clear nail varnish instead of Glue ... she won't mind :D
I'd rather take my chances with the whip finish, she doesn't like it when her makeup bag gets moved!
😂🐟👸
I'm getting the okuma citrix what u have for Christmas and I was was wondering if u could ask a quick question if so is the citrix capable of dealing with a lure that's up to 150 g?
I've been casting the 20cm MS line Thru Trout on them which is about 200g, it's coped with everything so far!
@@IBandAndyFishing thank you very much for your response I've used my okuma Ci 364 lxa twice now I've caught 7 fish over 2 sessions including my pb of 11 pound 15 ounzes I'm
👍🏻
I don't usually tie any grayling flies but this looks very fishy, I'll use lite-brite for the dubbing and microfibbits instead of the Coq de Leon( last longer).
Should get me some small stream brownies in a 14 or 16.
Cheers Andy!!!!
I used to use fibbets lots, but they're so expensive and I really don't find that CdL gets damaged by fish..
It's a cracking trout fly too, very effective through the whole season - just a deadly pattern!
Really nice, what’s the size of the hook ? In France a lot of people tye fly in size 18 or 20 for grayling.
this one is a sz12 with a 4mm beads, but I've tied them down to an 18 with a 2mm and they work very well too
hi andy, where can i buy tyres mate nymph it no14. where do you get yours from,
tried all over but no luck . thanks jim w.
