I like how you keep your Pink Chiffon low as a shrub. I'm going to try this. I did mine as a little tree form and did not know you could shape it like this. Thanks for posting!

I noticed most of the flowers face up so I will try to keep it under six feet to enjoy the flowers as they bloom.

    Hey there,
I’m thankful that your video popped up. I too live in Texas, I’m north of Dallas.
Your Rose of Sharon is absolutely beautiful!!!
    🙂🙂🙂
I hope it’s ok to get your opinion on something.
I bought a white chiffon on Good Friday, and it’s been a struggle since then.
The leaves turn bright yellow almost as soon as they sprout, and the newly formed buds fall off more than they open.
If they open it’s the smallest amount, then they fall off…
I repotted it into a slightly larger pot the day I brought it home, in potting soil, and a little Biotone.
I only water it every few days when it looks wilted, and the soil is dry.
It looked like it had some spider mite so I’ve sprayed it with Neem Oil.
I tried to help the yellowing leaves with plant food that has iron and it helped for a few days, but that didn’t last.
It hasn’t gotten any taller and it has had roughly 15 leaves on it at a time…
It gets afternoon through evening sun, so it gets plenty of sunlight.
Would you happen to have any idea what the problem might be, or how to help it???
Thank you for your time, I appreciate it.
    Have a nice weekend.
    Take care, God bless

Thanks for the question, I will try to answer as best as I can, at the very least give you some other ideas. I do not think that the potting soil would be a problem (speaking about pH) since it usually comes with optimum growing conditions. I am wondering if you are watering it too much. Also, with the current heat conditions that we are experiencing during this weather most plants are feeling some type of stress. I would try a couple of things.
Water less and move it to a mostly shade area with very little direct sunlight (less than 3 hours), with it being a new plant in a new container, in a new extreme environment it might have experienced transplant shock. I know that Rose of Sharon is a full sun type of plant but that would be in a normal year (not this year).
I would also give the plant a light prune (2 - 5 inches) off the end of each stem to promote new growth. This should not be a problem if it is in the shade most of the day. Do not give the plant fertilizer or spray it with anything else. Let's see what it does.
Lastly, the best solution might be to nurse it through fall and wait for it to go dormant in the winter. In late winter prune at least 1/3 of the plant, fertilize with a slow release fertilizer and it might have a better year.
I hope I gave you some ideas.

I think it's a good idea. I just looked it up and it says that blue and pink are opposites on the color wheel and provide a calm environment. Thanks for watching the video.
