- I mowed this overgrown lawn for a family childhood friend who was our neighbour for over 30 years. The property had been fire damaged and it badly needed a good mowing.

I think I must have missed something. You have a good heart, in cleaning up a family friends home. What I missed was the "ANGRY KARENS Demand I Cut 7 Foot OVERGROWN Lawn For FREE and REMOVE Illegal ASBESTOS" I did see a couple of females walking down the street. I also saw neighbor woman in her front yard. No angry Karen's or you speaking about them.

What I like about this type of cleanup is it becomes a memorial for the people. Your families years of shared friendship and kindness are now known of, and still being added to, renewing those living. Nice your String Trimmer was good for helping you locate and clear things as the gate and roofing. Liked seeing a pedestrian immediately using the safer/wider sidewalk that you'd cleared. The construction fence line being cleaned also will make things look better. You said both, "It's a free job." and ..."It's going to look fantastic!". You can't recognize the finalized improved house compared to the overgrowth of how it started. Very well done cleanup. Good extra of making sure the neighbors place and vehicle was blown off.
I'm sure the mum and dad are looking down with big smiles on their faces. Great job!!

And literally today, found out at my new house, next door, chatted with the son who temporarily moved back in and is dealing with the same situation with their parents and the overgrown landscape. I told him let me help, I have all the right tools and its what I do all day. Its easy for me. Crazy that this vid popped up in my feed.
It looks so much better now. What a sad story. Not only did they lose their family home to a house fire but then to lose their Mom so soon after is heart breaking😢. Yes, but very strict laws in Australia sorrounding asbestos removal or even touching it. Contractor needs and asbestos licence.
You need to have professional remove it safely in the USA slso
@@Philljag UK homeowners can remove and dispose of asbestos quite easily. My local council for example takes bagged asbestos by appointment once every 3 weeks.

this is a lovely thing to do for a family friend in a time of need. there needs to be more compassion in this "post pandemic" world.
Just as a side note Jase, I think asbestos is heavily regulated throughout the world as its so hazardous to health (it certainly is here in the UK, too)

Yeah I wouldn’t touch the asbestos either. Chance it could fall apart on you and that is when the trouble starts.
Great clean up, but that blue sheet on the ground gives every appearance of being BlueBoard, a post asbestos era replacement for Asbestos Cement sheeting. Asbestos building products were banned from new new installations in the 1980's, but existing installations were allowed to remain in place if not being disturbed or broken, but require appropriately licenced and equipped persons for removal. The house in the video is old enough to have used AC sheeting in the usual places like eave linings etc, which would give cause for the asbestos warning signs being displayed. However the blue coated sheeting is a modern asbestos free replacement using other fibre products for filling and reinforcement. As such it would not represent the same potential hazard as AC cement, but of fractured and broken finely enough could expose you to microscopic cement, fibreglass, and other cumulative dust particles that are not good for you, but no where near as bad as asbestos dust.
I know you did a terrific cleanup job, Jason, you always do. But, asbestos contaminated items and property, oh my. There is a reason for a big warning sign. Idk why the insurance carrier has been dragging their feet, must be the times lately. Asbestos left open to the air is dangerous for the whole community.

Good idea for the family also is to dig up the roses 🌹 and the lemon 🍋 tree 🌲 and take to their homes 🏡
House will be most likely be bulldozed and 2-3 townhouses built on the block. That’s the usual thing here in melbourne victoria australia 🇦🇺

After losing their families belongings in the fire, then their mother. The grief & sadness has made it difficult for them too begin sorting things out. This mow has made an amazing change. I am sure it will make it easier to come back to the house & deal with the lnsurance Company, get the rubbish cleaned up. What you did for your friends is priceless. God Bless you for your kindness & hard work. I believe this will lift their spirits after so much heartbreak! Thank you!
