I love that they talk actual russian and Ainu dialects and they have characters interpreting and translating for others not like in other animes where characters aren't supposed to understand each other yet they all are speaking in japanese, Vinland Saga comes to mind among others.
I'm from Russia and I don't understand what the russians are trying to say in this anime. Unfortunately, it's a terrible accent(

As a Russian, while the accents are EXTREMELY HEAVY, the actual Russian scripting is pretty darn good. The cases and language are believable, I’d say, and I haven’t noticed any errors.

When I saw the Russians in this anime, I thought, well, here again, the Russians are shown as weaklings who lose to everyone-the Americans, the Japanese, and so on. But I changed my mind when Sofia appeared further down the story)) I want more positive and non-stereotypical Russian characters in pop culture

One of the only anime where animals are actually threatening.
Yeah, that wolverine made some of the toughest veteran soldiers retreat even if they attacked it in group and were armed, it is good to see the fauna been portrayed as a proper danger and not just some background prop to make the characters look tough.
Yeah that's one of reasons I like this anime so much.
We've come so far from that first CGI bear... :')
Don't mess with a Babushka
It's interesting. As a Russian native speaker I understood 90% of what was said in this anime. Of course, there were rare moments of difficulty with understanding. But I like the work the VAs have done. And I don't understand the complaints of many other Russian speakers about this language.

A full Tiger will never hunt for food and only response to sudden movement. It's possible to domesticate it, but you'd be feeding mouths worth of food.

Because the budget for make the animation in the first season was low compared with the third season. In this season we can see bears and wolves without cgi.

Ehh not really but it does have quite a bit of history in it. It’s an anime that’s really hard to describe because it’s a combination of a lot of genres. Really like it tho
It's a historical fiction, but it does put a lot more effort into the "historical" part than most historical fiction.

The bear CG is very sparse, a few minutes at a time, and is gone completely by the third season (episode 25). It's really not a big deal. Go ahead and enjoy the characters and world-building of Golden Kamuy!

Yeah, the cgi bear is something you should look further, the anime has a lot of cultural references to the ainu and the imperial japanese army (it's veridic, the mangaka always does his best to be as accurate as possible with historic details) and a lot of action that ranges from simple skirmishes to full army interventions
