- Our playthrough of Trails Through Daybreak nightmare difficulty begins! That's right ladies and gentlemen our journey through the Legend Of Heroes Trails Through Daybreak is about to begin, the wait is finally over and the entirely new Calvard arc is here! No longer will Trails Into Reverie be my only series on the channel, it's time to embark on my second and it couldn't be a better game. I really timed the end of Trails Into Reverie perfectly don't you think? Only had to wait two weeks laughs manically
Anyway it's time to see what Falcom has in store for us as we take on the role of Van Arkride, a sought of mercenary for hire who takes on jobs outside of the cops or Bracer Guilds jurisdiction. From the outlook you'll notice just how much of a significant upgrade the graphics are from the previous titles, as we see a "deal" of soughts going on between gangs in the underground subway. However the deal quickly goes south as one party demands a higher share of the money (never a good thing to do let's be honest), this inevitably leads to a scuffle all the while something or someone else makes off with the item in question!
Shortly after we get introduced to another main character of the game Agnes Claudel a polite clever and well-mannered schoolgirl, looking for an heirloom of her great grand fathers. A watch or orbment type object which was intrusted to her, however it was quickly stolen from an antique shop in the city. Determined to find it she decides to seek help and who else does she choose besides our new Rean Schwarzer Van Arkride!
Together our new dynamic duo set out exploring the nearly districts in the capital city of Edith, in search of an acquaintance of Van's who will most likely know who is responsible. So get ready ladies and gentlemen for an episode full of world and character building as well as the classic JRPG dungeon. Can we find Agnes Claudel's precious memento? Or will taking on the underworld of the Calvard Republic prove to much.
So without further ado it's time to put on my Trails Through Daybreak Let's Play hat this time and put away the Trails Into Reverie one! Let's get on with yet another epic Kiseki saga!

Van can easily became your favorite protagonist. The whole idea of playing as some private investigator was so obvious but only now we have that type of character. And he is not only older, but also not a newbie unlike Estelle/Lloyd/Rean. If anything he is closer to Kevin.
And new QOL feature - blue indicator if there are new dialogue with NPC and grey if there are not. Even on the minimal they are different - yellow for new and grey for not.
I already really really like him so far, itâs nice to play someone rougher as well like ash. Although Iâll always love my boy rean đ Iâm so excited for the rest if it keeps up like this, the pacing is amazing and your IMMEDIATELY into the story unlike others. I really should play the sky games one day I know how much people love Kevin lmao

Letâs goooo, Steve. I also started the game just yesterday and I am loving it, got it for ps5. Van, Agnes and the landlords.. I already like the characters/setting/aesthetic we have, not to mention how nice the new engine looks. Agreed on Agnes, must protect. Such a beautiful/adorable heroine and definitely had a great first impression on me. Enjoy the prologue đ
Letâs GOOOOOO a new trails marathon has just dropped! Time to forget everything else in life for months đ„ł the new engine is such a massive step up especially in the animation like their faces have more than 2 expressions đ Agnes is the current lapis for me but we shall see if she can reach that tier of adorable , I think she could đ I canât wait for Elaine to show up after beyond the reverie!!
I'm a RPG veteran đ I've been playing them since Phantasy Star 2 on the Sega Genesis back in the late 1980's I love these kind of games. I only play on switch and I purchased this new trails game yesterday and I love the loud voice acting in this game. The music is neat and the main hero named Van is memorable like other main heroes of great RPG games of the past. I know his story will continue for multiple games to come.
RPGâs are the best game genre afterall you have good taste my man đ looking back on every game Iâve played i realise how I just kept gravitating towards RPGS and now JRPGS âșïž there incredibly chill and relaxing in large part to the music like you said, even if the worlds ending itâs still super relaxing to play đ Van has quickly shot up my list of favourite protagonists for sure! Hard to say if he tops my boy rean just yet tho, Iâll always love âhaha thatâs our reanâŠâ đ
I was wondering how you would feel about the new combat system. I'm enjoying it more and more as I'm playing through the game. And I still can't believe we'll get to play two new Trails games in less than a year. My collector's edition for this game arrived yesterday and I already pre-ordered Trails through Daybreak 2 CE.
i was even more worried after watching the trailer but honestly it feels amazing! It's suprisingly fluid and deep, can easily see it being stupidly fun with more than 2 characters. Still not entirely used to it of course as it's gonna be super hard to shake the old combat system from the muscle memory lmao

I played the fan translation. I'd rate this game about equal to cold steel, it improved sone things while objectively downgrading others. Overall an amazing experience still

The amount of QOL stuff has been immense, I canât get over the fact we donât need to scan anymore đ
reminds me of going form sky to cold steel than form cold steel 2 to cold steel 4 (had no interest in the filler that was 3 lol) it was like "only crap" when it came to the updated character models at least when it came to the jump form cold steel 2 to 4 have had this on my switch now for almost a week and really need to start it at some point lol
Awwww man you skipped cold steel 3!? Thatâs regarded as the best cold steel game đ it does take quite a LONG time to get get going but man when it does itâs peak falcom, I highly recommend even tho you know what happens lmao

@@Steveagogo reason i skipped it was because i heard during the time it was a rehash of the first cold steel and i didnt like the first cold steel while 4 was more like 2 and before reverie came out 2 was my favorite game in the series lol i did read a synopsis on 3 and the only thing i really missed out on was musses initial interactions with the cast who quickly beat out alisa as my favorite character and waifu lol

@Steveagogo It took me 10 hours to do Chapter 2. I literally talked to everyone, which, the way they've implemented it in this game, is such a breath of fresh air. Basically, anyone you can chat to will have the chat symbol in blue. Once they've said everything, it will turn gray. And with the mini-map, everyone who has dialogue will be in yellow. Once they've said everything, they'll turn white.
10 hours isn't too bad i don't think! I'll also be talking to everyone and their cat lmao i love seeing all the NPC's go about there lives and see what happens to them in future games and stuff. MY GOD the chat showing blue then grey when it's done is literally the best QOL i didn't even know i wanted! It's made "doing the rounds" so so so much faster, i managed to finish a single district in almost half the time it would have taken in reverie... Man i'm too addicted to daybreak heh
