My Tudor Black Bay 58 & Do I Need a Pelagos 39?!

- It has been 2 years since I bought my Tudor Black Bay 58! WHERE DOES THE TIME GOOO?! We've had ups, we've had downs, I thought about selling this watch a few months back (thank God I didn't!). But you know, I still really love this watch. :) It just hits this special place in my heart and it makes me happy! It is the watch that got me into watches, it's a dang great dive watch, and the specs are pretty beefy!
I know hype is dying down for the BB58, and we are moving onto other things, but this is forever my watch. :) I think this one is going to be in the collection for quite a while longer, and I just LOVE IT!

omg. I didn't notice until I watched this on a bigger screen... MY GREY SLEEVE IS SOOO DIRTY LOLLL! Omg. I am so embarrassed lol! Don't look at the stain, LOOK AT THE WATCH hahaha ;)
😂
I didn't notice it until you pointed it out...but now IT'S ALL I SEE!!!!!
😂😂 Watch Minga
its called patina
FFS no one noticed Brit🤦🏿♂️ 😭 Now we all know 👏🏾👏🏾
The caliber MT5400 is basically the same as the MT5402 movement, but with a slightly larger base plate. It was used for the versions of the BB58 where there is a display caseback.
Ahhh! Legend! Thank you so so much.
Correct but that’s interesting that they are now only using the MT5400. I bet they’re found it cheaper to just use that movement on all watches instead of manufacturing two versions of the same movement. The BB58 Bronze for example does not come by a display back case, yet it uses the 5400 just like the 925. I bet when they refresh the BB58 blue and gilt watches with the tfit, they will be 5400 instead of 5402.
So I just noticed the new Ranger uses the older MT5402 movement. Who knows what Tudor is doing. Haha
I'm not sure even Tudor knows what Tudor is doing. Part of the charm! @@EDHBlvd
100% agree. I own a BB Black (41mm.) because my wrist size, since 2 and a half years ago and the BB GMT since 1 year and a half ago. I'm more than happy with both and they are working perfectly and after this time, they are in perfect condition.
Thanks for another great video.
I've owned the blue BB58 for about 4 months now and absolutely love it. Every time I look down at my wrist I can't help but stare at it. To me the 39mm Pelagos is different enough that I'd love to eventually add one into my collection.
Right?! I feel exactly the same about mine! It’s just so dang HANDSOME! 💙 really proud to own this watch!
I have the blue Pelagos 42 since 1 year now and never regret getting it over the blue bb58. One big reason was the clasp system of the Pelagos, it’s just so convenient. Besides the reduced symmetry, the date complication is also very useful. Anyway, if I didn’t have any watch today, I would seriously consider the new small Pelagos.
@Britt never regret using your watch, that’s what they are made for😁
Had mine just over a year now, Britt. Keep waiting for the day I don’t love it - hasn’t happened yet. Low morning or evening light, when the light catches the hands, and I look down and think ‘Yeah, good choice, mate’. Best watch I’ve ever owned.
BB58 was also my gateway drug… have since added a BB36 and the Pelagos 39. In my mind, they wear so differently to one another despite the similarities on paper. I’m keeping them all and love each one for different reasons. Can’t go wrong when you get that feeling and follow your heart !
Love to see the audio quality improving so much :D Great shots, phenomenal review, dirty sleeve, it’s all there. I love the 58, but my blue BB36 (without faux rivets 🙃) wins this one for me.
Keep up the great content Gringa

Gotta say love my BB58. Recently bought the same model (love the blue) and I can’t stop admiring it. Yes, it was the most expensive piece I own, but the value is there. I went with the nato strap and so happy I did! I have a Tudor Glamour Date/day with steel bracelet and while classy it’s so easily scratched and was tough to get a good fit. The nato on the BB58 is the most comfortable band I’ve ever worn; it has a classy look as well but more so a vintage classy look that’s different than anything else out there. It’s also adjustable! Which the AD didn’t tell me; something I learned going through the Tudor owners manual, made the watch even more special! The Tudor shield buckle is brilliant; adds so much to the look of the strap. The strap is waterproof and durable as hell; but my favorite part is no scratches! Sure the buckle may get a mark but the strap itself should look great for a long time. The BB58 is just amazing; that anodized aluminum bezel is striking and the domed sapphire crystal looks so rich. Happy with the size and the lume has yet to fade in the darkest of night. No more ETA movement (nothing wrong with them but I’ll take the certified in house movement anyday) 70 hour power reserve. The Tudor rose on the crown, beautiful. All in all the best watch I’ve ever wanted and obtained; and this one isn’t gonna sit in a box. I’m happy Tudor is making the same size in other model ranges but the BB58 might just be the perfect watch (for me that is).
To exemplify how insanely in love I am with this watch: The other day I had an issue with my pool filter and I had to brush algae off the joints/tiles manually... I was already inside the pool doing it for 10 minutes when I realised I wasn't wearing my BB so I had to stop, dry myself, go in the house (upstairs), get the watch and jump back in 😄
😂 perfect! Love it.
LOLLL! This is the best comment! 😂✨
Hey Brit, I have the BB58 blue and I have just added my name to the list at my AD for the Pelagos 39. Yes, they are both divers but I love divers! and I especially like black divers without gilt accents. The Pelagos for me is the modern Interpretation of the Tudor Sub. My BB58 blue will never ever leave my collect either as it was a 50th bday gift from the Mrs and therefore has so much sentimental value.
Great post Britt! I bought my blue BB58 in March and had it on the amazing nato strap over summer. I love it-timeless everyday elegance and great value for money. I’m with you though-the 39 Pelagos is gorgeous so I may have to add to the collection ;)
I really appreciate the fact that you upload more than once a week! Thanks Britt!! 🫶🏽
Britt - like you, I have a blue BB58 and love it. I was also able to get a Pelagos 39 a few weeks ago, and it definitely does not conflict with the BB58 in my collection. The Pelagos 39 wears like a dream - between the lightness of titanium and the T-fit clasp it's easy to forget I'm wearing a watch at all...until I look at it. The (very subtle) sunray on the dial and bezel is really not apparent in normal light, but in bright sunlight it gives the watch a little "pop" that I really like. IMHO the BB58 and the Pelagos 39 wear very differently, and are unique enough that they would have no problem living together in your collection - go for it!
Found your channel few days ago and have watched most of your videos. Love your video editing and story telling.
I own a BB58 as well and I definitely would still get the Pelagos 39 for my collection. The titanium and improved bracelet has a very different look and feel from the 58. Maybe wearing it on the rubber strap would set it apart more from your 58.
This makes me feel better about wanting the Pelagos 39 too! I know I'll need to save for a while for it! But hey, I've stuck my name on the waiting list. Now let's see what happens! ;)
I have a BB58 and a BBPro and I’ll be getting a Pelagos 39mm. I just cant help it😂
I'm very fortunate to have both the blue and original black/gilt versions of the BB58 because they are so impressive, but also different enough in character. The Blue, for example has a slightly more modern, fresher vibe despite the 'vintage' appeal - and I love a blue dial/bezel. Forget the faux rivets, you really can't see them once on the wrist.
I have also cherished a classic Rolex Sub Date 16610 for 20 years, hence why the new Pelagos 39 is not one for me to genuinely consider, no matter how much I like it, because the dimensions, its purpose and aesthetics are too similar.
Thank you for the always positive disposition and entertaining content - in a universe boasting condescension and pomposity, you don’t take yourself too seriously and that is refreshing
Oh THANK YOU! 😭💕💕 this is everything this channel is meant to be! A light hearted expression of loving watches! Life is too short to be an ass hat. 😜 love watches, talk watches, and don’t take any of it too seriously. It’s only luxury trinkets at the end of the day.
Absolutely love this reference, so versatile. It too was my gateway into watches, it will be be passed down to my daughter one day(she’s 4) as she loves it too!
Just wandered in. I enjoyed this review of your Black Bay. You're very charismatic and passionate collecting. Prior to finding your channel, I was looking for testimonials on this very watch and here you are. My goal is own the Heritage model one day!
I loved your love story to the BB58! Thanks, Britt. Oh, and I can’t wait to get my hands on a Pelagos 39
I’m just getting into watches and I love your videos! I love the quality of every single video you make.
Whaaat! Thank you so so much! I’m so glad you’re enjoying my weird little channel! 😱💙✨✨ and welcome down the watch hole! 😜
I have a BB58 black and I love it! The snowflake hands make it easy to read at night, I like the 10 year service intervals and the watch has tons of character. Great video, thanks 😊 👍
I think the difference between the two movement is the diameter, with the 5400 being a little larger. This new Pelagos should be seen as the real modern Tudor Submariner aka "snowflake" and looks and feels spectacular. Actually still looks as a purpose-built watch. Big fan here. The BB58 gives way more space to aesthetic over function. Different watches, you can have both in the same collection, but they will overlap in terms of the use you are gonna make of them. Both beautiful watches! Greetings
I'm new to owning a Tudor, got the BB58 bronze about a month ago and can't stop wearing it. Its by far my favorite watch and I'm so glad I got it.
I was looking at the Pelagos 39mm as an addition to my collection. But I'm eager to see what Tudor brings as an updated BB58 next year. Hopefully it has the updated clasp, larger crown like on the Pro and would love to see a bezel like on the Pelagos 39. Great video 👍
I think the sunburst wouldn't suit the vintage aesthetic, but an updated clasp would be great and help make the decision between the two a little easier!
@@K.J.H_ I agree no sunburst on the 58, but I like the edge of the Pelagos 39 bezel. It has more "teeth" than the coin edge like the 58.
37k subscribes! Good job! The countdown to 50k is under way. I say you hit that before the end of the o!
Great to hear your thoughts and experiences with the 58 blue. My one hope Tudor will release a green dial and bezel 58 or 39 Pelogus. Keep the videos and thoughts coming your super on the tube. Stay healthy and safe.
Britt, your video makes me smile! Remember when I talked you out of selling it? So glad you listened to me! I love my BB58 black/gilt. I will never sell mine. There is room in your collection for both the BB58 and the Pelagos 39, as they have very different aesthetics. And speaking of watch addiction, my AD called me with a 124270 yesterday - I have not taken it off my wrist since picking it up - the 36mm Explorer may be the perfect watch (barely feel it when wearing it) - I seriously love it Cheers!
omg. It was the right thing to do not to sell!! After making that video, I wore my BB58 for 2 weeks straight - to see if we still had the magic ;) ........ AND WE DO!
as for the explorer, I AM SOOOO JEALOUS!!! Omg! Biggest congrats EVER for adding this amazing watch to your collection!
@@BrittPearceWatches Thanks so much! It has already become my favorite watch, so light and comfortable I can easily wear it loose and under the bone, which is my preferred way to wear a smaller watch. It also flies under the radar screen and does not attract the wrong kind of attention, so this will be my daily driver and I will save the other 2 blingier Rolexes for special occasions! Cheers :)
Cool video Britt! I love my BB58, def my fav beater watch. Iv worn it, w confidence, rock climbing, weight lifting, off shore fishing, and other random outdoorsy ish lol keep up the good work and great content 💪
I love it!!! I do the exact same with mine! It’s that watch I wear when I know I’m doing sometjing a little rough and ready - rock climbing, surfing, wild camping! I love it. But it’s just as great with jeans and a tshirt!
They are both damn cool watches. I have to say, your channel has to be my favourite watch channel. Kudos.
Whaaat! This is high praise indeed! Thank you so much :)
Great video, Britt! I was working as a nurse in the emergency department area as the pandemic took off. The BB58 Navy was also the icing on the cake for me and others as I obtained one July 2020. It's one of my favorite watches, especially on a female form factor.
In addition to your comment about kids selling heirlooms.. they'll say the scratches are "natural patina" lmao!
@@nessakin16 I'm so pretentious I call patina on my watches ,' wabi- sabi'. Yes, people roll their eyes & slowly move away.
I’ve got the 58 in blue too. The matte dial in direct sunlight is just stunning. I was quite disappointed with the new Pelagos. I feel the sun burst effect on the dial gives the watch a very cheap looking sheen and presents more like a fashion piece. Would you and your husband ever do a joint state of the collection video? That would be really cool!
Classy video, as always Brit. True Canuck taking the high road 😊. P.S. the BB58 is outstanding!
Got a BB58 black/gold on right now, love it! Great vid babe 😊
I have the BB58 in blue and absolutely love this watch. I’m not a bracelet guy so bought mine on leather, which is rather nice, but mine lives predominantly on an MN single pass strap so don’t have to worry about the faux rivets and it’s infinitely adjustable and the most comfortable style of strap I have ever warn. The snow flake hands don’t bother me either. Gets the most wrist time of any of my watches and once it’s on I find it difficult to take off. Really like the FXD but this is on the limit for my skinny ass wrist and the 39mm is a perfect size. For me personally I don’t think there is enough difference between the BB58 or the Pelagos 39 to justify having both and I can’t see me ever getting rid of the 58.
Oh that is an ACE strap pairing!!
I agree about the bracelet; I have the BB GMT on a NATO and I can just change the strap at will.
I went to pick up my P39 today but when I was sitting there having it on my wrist and my black BB58 on the other I just couldn’t motivate having it in my collection knowing I won’t sell my beloved BB58. They were just too similar despite their many differences. At the end of the day they’re both black dial divers from Tudor with a red accent, sharing the same movement without a date. I do however have to point out that I absolutely loved the bigger teeth on the bezel and the bigger crown.
So I own both. I was lucky and picked up my Pely39 just after the release and was absolutely set on selling my BB58. I always hated the clasp. It’s too long. No micro adjustments. But then I looked back at some photos of it on NATOs and leather and aftermarket bracelets… and now I’m keeping both. The Pelagos 39 is fantastic and so comfortable all day. But it has become an addition, not a replacement. If you’d like to spend some time with the 39 I’ll bring it to the next RBB. Dm 😉
Girl, I wore the Pelagos 39 at my AD just this week and pheeew, that's a though one to resist. I am IBWC too and the 39mm fits like a glove. Being made of titanium it's also incredibly light so oyu barely notice it on your wrist. The grayish black color scheme is a little boring but it's still a killer watch.
I especially liked the slowly tapering bracelet, it's a LOT nicer looking than the BB58 or Ranger one IMHO.
Glad to hear you think the BB58 is a keeper. It's beautiful, I've had one about 6 months, and I love it even more now. You forgot to mention how accurate it is. It's a future classic. Love the videos 👍
YOU KNOW, YOU ARE SO RIGHT! That is something absolutely worth noting: incredibly accurate and of course COSC certified!
@@BrittPearceWatches Does yours keep incredible time too? When I'm wearing mine it's spot on. Only gains slightly if I take it off and leave it. Most accurate watch I've ever owned.
I'm close to getting either one of these as my first tool watch. I definitely want both and may get both. I know what you mean about loving a watch and how illogical it is. I have a GS that I wear on most days will never get rid of. But my first automatic was a Mido about ten years ago and I still wear it and I'll never get rid rid of it. That one kicked me into the suspiciously placed Sparta hole Cheers! and thanks you.
You are so right about aluminum bezels. I have the Black Bay GMT and it’s a great watch made better by the aluminum bezel. It’s so obviously a design choice and not a “cost cutting measure.” You’re also very right about the rivets. I get a little excited when I notice them. They add another dimension to the bracelet.
Super video Brit! I LOVE my blue 58, such a great watch for all the reasons you stated, and yeah, despite hating the idea of the rivets I never see them either 🤣 Cmon Tudor, start selling T-fit clasps for older models please and then I'm a VERY happy camper! 😊 The new 39mm Pelagos does look great, but in my little collection (8 in regular rotation) it's too similar to the 58 - so I'm very close to pulling the trigger on a Blake Seamaster instead to finally own another Omega 😀 Keep up your fab videos hon - you rock
We need the T Fit!!! C'mon Tudor!!! I definitely agree with the Pelagos 39 probably being a bit too close to the BB58 ;) hee hee! I just want them allllll!
@@BrittPearceWatches You and me both!
Great vid Britt! I love my 58. Would suggest you check out the Jubilee bracelets available for it from a few well known places; they really take it to another level, and make it so much more different from the P39 that it feels a lot more reasonable to get one of those too! :) (at least that's what I'm telling myself. YMMV!)
The MT5400 movement measures 30.3 mm x 5 mm (up from the caliber MT5402 that measures 25.6 mm x 4.6 mm).
Love these watches! I hope to get the BB58 in black & gilt when the price corrects in a year or so. And someday get the silver one to keep in a box unless for special occasions to avoid over tarnishing. Great video! 👍🏾. I love it for the case size also. Closest thing to a Classic Sub or Milgauss that I can afford. Perfect proportions
Gotta love a BB58! They are just pure magic!
I might be wrong but I've heard several times that silver tarnishes the LESS you wear it 🤷🏻♂️
2:00 and another Rolex flipper bites the dust..
Nothing wrong with the sleeve. My favourite part of this watch is the matt blue dial and bezel.
Have super Sunday, Brittany. Cheers, everyone! 🍻
Right?! I love the matte blue too! :) thank you so so much, I hope you have a gorgeous weekend!
I bought the bb58 last weekend. No regrets. It is unreal nice. Such a step up from that $500 category that I knew. I was on the fence about the lack of on the fly micro adjustments, but I’m so unbelievably happy with it I don’t see myself looking elsewhere any time soon.
@@polygoncoco thank you! I was completely unaware. I just found that this company, Steel Reef makes one, so it’s on order.
It's a lovely watch and in my world I've managed to justify the blue and the black because they're so different 🤔🙂. I'm not a bracelet person so I've never suffered with the faux rivets and I struggle to find fault with this watch.
Bahaha oh you're my hero - you have the black and the blue?!?! This is making me feel like I definitely need the pelagos as well! ;) These look absolutely fab on the nato as well!
Great video, Brit. Keep it up!
I don’t get hands on with a lot of watches, but I did pick up a Seamaster 200m omegamatic and I’m really diggin it.
Oh well… my tudor BB58 925… I bought it while waiting for my Rolex Cermit. I got both and guess which one has more wrist time… I love it so much. Perfect design, perfect color, original color with the silver, lots of scratches and small decoloration due to very mild corosion. It lives, like your blue BB58. Don’t want to have it polished. To want to have it shine. It’s a freaking tool watch and it should look like it. My sub is beautiful, and all shinny. Too flashy for many occasion, the BB is ALWAYS the right watch for any occasion. Love it.
The caliber MT5400 is basically the same as the MT5402 movement which powers the Black Bay Fifty-Eight and Black Bay Fifty Eight Navy Blue, but Tudor enlarged it to better fill case which has a different dynamic due to the screw-down open caseback on both the 18K and 925 Fifty-Eights. The MT5400 movement measures 30.3 mm x 5 mm (up from the caliber MT5402 that measures 25.6 mm x 4.6 mm).
Boom! Thank you so so much for this info! :)
I got the one on a nato and I love it!! It’s a strap monster and works with a lot of looks!!💪
Have the blue BB58 myself, and recently bought the «easy link» from steel-reef. Its not a T-fit but it does give you on the fly adjustment of 5mm. Works great! Also waiting for the pelagos 39 tho, if I like it Im afraid the BB goes
I have the BB 58 in navy blue since 4 weeks now, after beiing on the waiting list for nine months!!! Got the call of the dealer right in the week as the pelagos 39 came out. There were 4 people in front of me on the list of the local dealer, they all jumped off to get the pelagos. So I thought about to get on the list for the pelagos too, which also looks fantastic and for sure is an awesome watch. Finally I thought I take the chance and so bought the BB 58 and I am more then happy with my decision. A great everyday watch, very compatible, stylish and as you said not too expensive. Simply a great timepiece that hopefully also keeps it value over times....
Whaaaat! Biggest congrats EVER on getting the call!!! 9 MONTHS?! 💙 that is just wild isn’t it?! But you got it! I hope you’re loving it!
@@BrittPearceWatches I love it. And I also think it looks perfect on your wrist, this watch is unisex. You kind of inspired me getting the watch...
Took off my sub and put on my BB58 while watching this :) Thanks!
Great, timely video. I’m in a similar quandary, having recently traded away my BB58 and a Pelagos for a Rolex Explorer 114270. Now, I’m sizing up whether to buy back both the 58 and the 42mm Pelagos, get ONLY the Pelagos 39, or get the Pelly and the 58.
Congratulations on 2yrs with BB58 Brittany.
Awesome to see all the scratches and memories you’ve created with it. Since your BB is blue and the 39mm Pelagos is black, I think they would be different enough to compliment each other. I love the 39 Pelagos.
Right?! I think they are different enough too! Plus the titanium. Idk! I think it could scratch a very different itch!!🙈💕
I got the blue black bay 58 and I love it. I had a similar “first luxury watch” experience.
Great video. Me personally, I wouldn’t get the Pelagos.
I also have “that watch” that I am absolutely in love with, but I wouldn’t get one too close in likeness because it would decrease the uniqueness that it holds in my collection.
Instead I’m going to pull a 180 and get something completely different than my current favorite watch for some variety. Because the form and function of said watch would be different, I’d naturally gravitate towards wearing it for different occasions, and over time, form independent memories with it.
Great watch Brittany ! 👍🏽 Got also mine almost 2 years ago. Still really love it. I'm not a diver but I often go swimming in the lake of Geneva with it.
Yours seems very damaged. Are your OP and Daytona the same ? Would be interesting to know.
Concerning the Pelagos 39, you really don't need it. The two watches are so similar. Unfortunately, Tudor is pushing too much with marketing to keep the demand on the look-out.
Black bay-Pro, Ranger, Pelagos 39... what's the next ? Please Tudor, Quality is better than Quantity ! Do not loose your mind for 💰💰💰
I love this watch , I bought the black one with gilt. Very elegant piece aswell. I really hope they are going to release a blue version of the titanium pelagos 39mm. Really like that watch too, but black looks to similar to the one I have already.
I am wearing this right now. Love the shade of blue, love the size on my girl wrists, love the sporty tool nature. Never notice the rivets and the snowflake hands grow on you when you wear it.
I want the new Pelagos 39, but it's not a tomorrow purchase. My hard earned cash has other purposes
Ahhh BB58 besties! I’m wearing mine too! The blue is goooorgeous isn’t it! 😱💙💙 you know. I feel exactly the same about the pelagos 39. One day, when money is ok!
I've been wanting one for several years. Got mine today to commemorate a trip to Paris with my son. It will be his as I dive into the world of let's just say more quality watches than I have bought in the past.
Thank you for clearly say it out loud that $3000 watch is an expensive watch. Really don't get it when people always say $3000 watch is affordable :D
I think the BB58 (especially in blue) is a classic. I'm unfortunately (fortunately?) not of small wrist, so I fear I won't be satisfied owning a BB58. I try them on and I just don't know if it's for a giant like me. What Tudor needs to explain is why their 41mm Black Bay range is so darn thick. It doesn't have a date. Obviously they don't need all that space to get 70 hours of COSC sweetness into a movement. Time for a refresh from Tudor? Even the Black Bay GMT wears thinner with that slight cut up on the case sides, and that offers a freakin' GMT movement. At least I can understand why that is thick. I may end up getting the BB GMT, but a regular BB in 41mm might be more tempting if it were thinner. Also, they need to do full blue in that size too. That all blue is just killer. Thanks for listening to my rant. 😁
I’ve owned the BB58 Blue since its rollout in the COVID summer of 2020. Had to wear a mask when getting it fitted in AD (bittersweet memories). Like Britt, this is a very special watch for me that will be handed down to my son. I’ve already informed him that if he ever sells it I will strike him down from above. Perfect dimensions on my 6.75-in wrist, subdued blue color that goes with everything, vintage diver vibe (I got my diver certification in 1975), and COSC performance. What’s not to love? I even like the faux rivets!
I think from a design perspective the 58 is much more versatile with how you can wear it. Dive watch, dressed up, t-shirt and jeans or a more vintage attire - everything works :)
The Pelagos imo is more of a tool/sports watch and due to the material and optional rubber band I'd definitely use it in more active scenario's.
So yea definitely an excuse to have both 😅
Obviously both watches look very similar, however, they are technically different designs altogether (color choice aside). So I think the more important question to ask is if they fill the same role? It's like buying a VW Golf and then asking if you should also get a Seat Leon. If you like hatchbacks, then great! Otherwise, get something different.
As a black/gilt BB58 owner, I probably wouldn't bother with the 39. But an FXD? Now there's a pairing I could get behind.
Dilemma, dilemma! The first time I saw the combination of the snowflake hands, applied, bordered indices, and the lovely proportions and design touches on the BB58, I was smitten! I have always admired the Pelagos but could never embrace the size of it. I have always been waiting, hoping for a smaller, titanium cased, snowflaked Tudor. Now there is the Pelagos 39... For my uses, purposes, desires, it is just about the perfect blend of everything I had been hoping for. Now I just have to be able to afford it!
I'm still pretty smitten with it, but I've decided to hold off and see if the bracelet gets an upgrade. I just don't like a single thing about the bracelet it comes on. Absolutely love everything else!
Love this video 🤗 and love this watch!
I collect mostly vintage pieces but seriously considering the contemporary blue BB58. Looks great on you. Not enough of a difference for me to opt for the blue Pelagos 39. Besides, I don’t think I can get over the lighter titanium weight. Wore the titanium Grand Seiko Snowflake and felt it wasn’t real. I just prefer a little more weight on my wrist. Wearing a wristwatch is a personal experience and connection. Did you get your BB58 at an AD or secondary market? Love your content! Keep it up!
I agree how you feel about blue BB58, I own one for a year now though the blue is always the happy version of BB58 line but there’s something about its shade of blue that I always choose between my blue oris aquis and blue limited edition seiko 62MAS
Great content as usual 👍. Would the bracelet from the new Ranger fit your BB58, and then enhance what is already a great watch. Would still consider the Pelegos if that is what you want, could always move it on after a good time on the wrist.
I love how much you love this watch 🖤
Hello from Thailand. My 58 blue is the first one that ever sold in Thailand, I got it on july 7 only 7 days after they release. and now it my daily watch.
Oh YES!!! It’s the same for me! My daily watch - such an amazing timepiece! Congrats on owning it! 😱💙
Great watch. Love mine. Combined with an uncle seiko half link and the steel reef easy link the bracelet fits almost perfectly.
Ouuuu now this is very interesting! :O
The 5402 has a smaller mainplate and uses a case ring between the inner diameter of the case and the outer diameter of the movement. The 5400's mainplate fills the case. Another thing to note, is that they changed the location of the dial feet between the two versions, so it is impossible to exchange dials between the two movements.
Ahhh this is so good to know! Thank you so much for tjis insight 💕
My BB58 has seen better days as well. But it gets worn with a tremendous amount of love!
I'm here for the BB58B love. I got mine last month after years of planning. I knew I wanted a BB but the last 2 years I zeroed in on this one, mainly because of the stunning color. It is so pure in my eyes, it reminds me of the sea and the navy and for me it is the defining tudor color. You wont find a color like this from Tudor's bigger brother's lineup. About the small improvements on other models Inhave to say this: if we were seeking perfection we probably wouldnt be mechanical watches enthousiasts. Its not about the specsheet, its about selfexpression. Great that there is a better clasp out there, if I buy another watch.. ever , then I will appreciate it. Enjoy your bb58 blues!
I have a blue BB 58 exactly like this and couldn't be happier. It's wonderful.
Isn't it JUST!
Agreed. I love mine and my big concern didn't bother me in the end. I don't even notice the frivets.
Ahhhh... their is nothing like falling in love with a watch it's like having a close friend that wont ever upset you or betray you and is always dependable can't blame you Britt for falling head over heels with that Tudor she is a Beauty. Britt get the Pelagos only if you are not yearning for a better watch if you are just keep saving up for the watch you want even more one thing wow time does fly I remember the video when you first showed us the Tudor.
One year ago I was thinking of buying the bb 58 or bb 36. I decided to buy the 36 and I still love this watch. I wear it every day. I think the pelagos 39 would be a nice watch to buy in the future, because now I am waiting for "the Call" from my AD to buy a rolex explorer 1.
Man, you really cannot go wrong with a BB36! WHAT A WATCH and what a choice!
I own this exact watch. Love the BB58! Definitely a keeper for life :)
Hey you coolest watch geek! I love ❤️ your content. I feel much like you except I’m el broko~loco due to disability.
I could however save for a Tudor. Pelagos though because my wrist size is too big for a 39.
Still, thank you for what y’all do. Sorry about the bike accident. You’re doing great.
My BB58 blue is my only dive watch in my collection. It somewhat scratched the itch for a Sub. Would not sell it because every time I wear it, it reminds me of the two years being able to work from home and spend time with my two lovely kids. Gonna pass it down to them and hope they won’t sell it 😂 Praying to get my hands on a 114060 someday.
cool channel, keep it up. Storytelling on point, giving those libra/pisces vibes, aesthethics on par, sense of humour checked, enjoy your watch journey. 🤝
my best and favorite gmt watch
Do it Britt. Do it. I think the BB58 has a very vintage homage feel and the pelagos would be a very modern looking diver. Definitely different enough to fit in your collection!
RIGHT?!?! This is how I’ve convinced myself into it at least! 🙈😂💙
Love my BB58 blue! I don’t love the lack of articulation where the bracelet meets the clasp at the 6 o’clock side, or the overhang of the bracelet on the 12 o’clock side. It makes the effective clasp size huge on the underside of my wrist.
@Britt Pearce If they’re going to try to scam us, they could at least get the watch name right! “Turbo” Black Bay…for crying out loud…
My Blue BB58 is the one reason I won't be buying the Pelagos 39.
Bought it at the same time you did. Though I give it too less weartime I will never sell it. It’s, like you said: a watch for the kids 💯🤘🍀
You have good taste on timepieces. When I found out you worked at a church I was like, no wonder she's such a nice lady :)
Brittany you're funny as f##k!!! Sorry to swear but I love you're videos... you're humour is so on point! Love the song at the end 🤣🤣🤣. I really like these BB watches i think their cool & look iconic! But picking one ( if I was in a position to buy one ) is near impossible.. especially with the GMT etc etc... all you're points about these watches i totally agree with & this is exactly how I feel about my Speedmaster Pro... expensive but not in the grand scheme of things, Ironic, looks great with every outfit, classey but not over the top.. and as for scratches... I just try to think of all the journeys my watxh has been on, hikes up mountains, catching up with friends, journeys through life with me etc etc.. ❤ love you're stuff!👍🤣
I've had this same thought process with both the Ranger and 39mm Pelly with my BB36. But every time there is something that stops me, with the Ranger it was the dial and with the Pelly it was the grade 2 titanium. If they did a green BB58 I'd be in on that but until something like that happens I'll stick with my 36.
Man! A green BB58 would be HYPE! 😱😱
I’ve owned the same model from new since November 2020 and I think it’s still one of the best pieces in Tudors line up to date, though I would probably grab a Pelagos 39 to join the collection if I get the chance!
I couldn’t agree more with all of this! What a watch! 💙👏🏻 keep wearing it in good health my friend.
Amazing video as always! First off the MT5400 is 4.4m bigger. That’s it 😅.
Secondly I LOVE swing your BB in that condition. It’s done the things it should have with you and you’ve loved it
Do you need a Pelagos 39? No. Objectively you have a Tudor diver. Sure it titanium and a different dial colour yadda yadda. I quite like the snowflake hands and faux rivets but you have such an emotional attachment to the BB58, why get in the way of that?
Sure there’s no adjustment, but there isn’t on a Royal Oak or Nautilus. Beauty is suffering, after all 😆.
Tbh just get a 40mm bi-metal sub with a black dial and be done with it. That would really really suit you (as would a root beer, but that’s another story). I know they’re very different aesthetics of hardcore tool diver vs desk diving, but life is short. Treat yoself.
As for watches with a great sentimental value? Probably the mint 1675 I inherited from my dad (hardly sees the light of day because it means so much) or the cermit. I got mine around the same time you got your BB. (14th October 2020 to be exact). I actually have no memory of buying that watch because a few weeks later I got admitted to hospital, ended up in a coma for almost 2 months and literally died 3 times.
August-December 2020 is a void in my head, but I do remember one of the first things I thought was “where’s my watch”. Luckily my mother had taken it for safe keeping and it was okay. So yeah, when I got out it was new to me all over again. Guess it’s an “I didn’t die” present? When I’ve explained that to people they look at me like I’m mad. Sometimes I really wonder if this is a hobby or shared compulsion.
OH WOOOOW! That is absolutely insane!!! How did you end up in a coma?! And I'm so so glad you're ok. AND YOU LITERALLY DIED 3 TIMES! Blimey - you are honestly a walking miracle!!!
@@BrittPearceWatches oh man, it’s a long story. Basically I had a seizure and had to be anaesthetised to be scanned but had a bad reaction to it. My heart stopped and then when they tried to wake me up for a second time it happened twice more and my lungs flooded with fluid. Had to be rushed off for ECMO. The chances of me not having brain damage was lottery winning small, but here I am back to how I was before it all happened. Honestly if anything it’s taught me life is such a gift and too short to waste. That includes not buying the watches you want 😁. (Remind me to tell you about the near death experience and meeting what most people would call a god)
I distinctly remember in the days coming round (I’d been anaesthetised for like 2 months by this point so it takes a while to wear off lol) having this really intense and super vivid dream about having to tell the AD I don’t have this watch anymore and I honestly haven’t flipped it you guys. 😅
The all rose gold would suit you so much! I would say maybe the bi-metal Tudor GMT but they’re just too thick, even for me and I can wear a 47mm Panerai. I’m on the BIO list for a meteorite GMT which is probably my ultimate Rolex before getting into rainbow/off catalogue models. If/when it comes, you know I’ll be sending it to you for review!
Thanks Britt, you the best.😊Yes love it, still my favourite, rocking the 925 🎉
YASSS! The 925 is pure MAGIC! I was very tempted by it!
❤️
