    I just found your channel and I subscribed so fast! I love how in depth you are with everything and your personality is so fun! I myself am a bigger gal I was over 240 pounds 4 years ago last a bunch of weight by not really trying mostly from going from not moving a lot at all to walking to work and having a very physical job and I also went through a phase of not eating a lot. Anyways got down to 140 in 2018 and slowly but surely gained ALL my weight back as of 2021 I am around 237 -240.. absolutely devastated me seeing the 200 on the scale again. I tend to over eat, emotional eat or bored eat. I have a very unhealthy relationship with food and this time around it’s so much harder for me to even get started let alone stay consistent. I love coffee and not black coffee lol high Calorie coffee and I know I need to make my portions smaller and cut out certain things but for some reason it’s soo hard and in turn makes me feel shitty about myself because I feel as tho I’m too lazy to try or I just think about how much I hate how my body looks and I just don’t start.. any tips for all that haha? I am definitely going to start watching your videos to gain some insight!

    I get so excited when it comes to fitness and health but I feel so restricted and all the enthusiasm I have goes to waste because I am currently healing from a chronic illness. I want to be stronger and grow muscles but I can’t always be the most consistent because of flair-ups and I’m doing everything I can to heal and get better. Though I do have to say I could be eating better then I do at the moment. I do eat relatively well because I have food sensitivities that prevent me from eating a lot of classically unhealthy foods. Maybe that should be what I focus on for now is making my food choices as healthy as possible. I get so excited and focused on working out and getting stronger but maybe I need to put my focus into eating as clean as possible.

      I know how hard it is to prioritize health when you're excited about the gains haha. When i was dealing with my health issues, I had to quit the gym entirely for almost a year and I missed it soooo much. But the more you prioritize your health first, the fewer flairs you'll have and the more effective your workouts will be--even if you can't do as many/ workout as hard as you want all the time

    Loved the little 4 pillars of health diagram 😂 this was the pep talk I needed, i went to the gym before dinner last night, felt good and ready to tackle my fitness this year, switched on the news and then it was like "national lockdown!"
    And I just... Idk WHY this one is hitting harder than the rest. Maybe it's cos it's January, maybe it's cos bozza should have put us all in lockdown in November and ruined everyone's Christmas like he probably should have... Idk. (Kinda glad he didn't?) My pals are all like a little depressed at the news and it's kinda the first time I've felt properly mentally ill? Like my brains got a cold? It's quite bizzare tbh???
    Either way, the plan this year was mainly to use fitness as a self care tool so I guess I just gotta rework the plan...
    One thing I found that was dead helpful for focussing my NYR was rereading all my diary entries for the year (took a few days) and wow was I consistently stressed by little (big) things i had forgotten about. But silver lining - I consistently journalled this year so yay go me! I've now got a summary of that data to work from and I can make changes that will stick and be more effective. 🤞

      @@MissFitAndNerdy They are working within that framework, but there is so much disordered talk about food and exercising. Obsessing over whether they should be in a cutting or maintenance week based on an interruption in their plan, or flat-out declaring that 1200 is their maintenance and that's just the way it is (but sliding in that she has been dieting since she was 12). I found myself having to point out how disordered some of these posts were multiple times a week, and I just thought, I can't help these people because I know I wouldn't have taken their help when I was in their shoes. I just had to remove the noise from my own feed. I know you can't police every post and I know you're not an eating disorder expert, but there are so many people in that group fueling their disordered relationships under the guise of following your tips -- which are really only useful to people who have a healthy relationship with food and exercise.

      i have desk job, i've been working from home for months now because of the pandemic, well i hired a treadmill and i've a fitbit, which reminds me every hour to move, i walk 5 to 9min every hour while i work, during my lunch break i go for a 20min walk with my dogs, this way i easily get 10k steps per day
      while before i hardly got 4k or something, also when i was at the office, and now when i go to the office, i try to walk around more, i informed my collegues that's my thing now...
      i've lost 10 kg with a -500cal over the past 5 months with muscle training 2 or 3 times a week. my food it on point, excersise isn't and i have the feeling i'm at a plateau now, i don't wanna cut more cals so i'm going to try the cycle method

    Substitution is key whenever I feel fluffy if I say I cant have pasta or ice cream surprise that is all I want so instead I'll make banana nice cream or have half a halo top or a square of dark chocolate and like 1 actual serving of pasta or a whole plate of spaghetti squash and that way I dont feel deprived and I'm being healthier overall

    Oh, my sleep! It's so messed up. My circadian rhythm is way way off and has been for a long time. I've been focusing on other areas of my health and ignoring my sleep pattern because it's actually the hardest for me to change. Guess I'll have to really get my sleep right if I want to reach my health and fitness goals. Aye!

    1. Prioritize your health.
    2. Work on underlying health issues.
    3. Optimize your sleep and health in general.
    4. Make your testosterone high (for MEN ONLY.) Too much testosterone is unhealthy for women.
    5. The 4 pillars of health: Exercise, nutrition, sleep, and stress. Work on all four.
    6. Start small sustainable changes. Consistency is key.
    7. Would you rather succeed in 1 year or never succeed your entire life? Weight loss takes time. Be patient.
    8. Make slow changes to the 4 pillars.
    9. Build healthy habits first, then take bad ones away.
    10. Don't overthink it!! :)
    Take your time. It might take 5 months or 2 years. You don't know. Just do whatever fits you, take baby steps, and take it slow. It's way better than never getting to it. You got this.

    Any tips on how to build consistent sleep schedule? I am yoyoing and it really affects all other aspects like exercising and eating and I don't know how to stop. I can make myself go to bed early for a week or two but then it just goes back to sleeping 5 hours a day and feeling like a zombie for the remaining 19

    • @zoebw3800
      @zoebw3800 Před 3 lety +1

      You are going to hate it but: discipline haha. Try to avoid your smartphone before you go to bed. Read a good book. Start to get ready for bed at 9 or 10 pm and head straight to bed. Put the smartphone away. A good sleeping tea like Camilla helps to calm down, open the windows before you go to sleep and move a lot over the day because the more you move the more tired you get. But if you can do it for a week, you can do it for two. And if you can do it for two, you can do it for three. Discipline. You can do it for you.

    Hi, I want to thank you for these amazing tips and video series! I really wish I could share with my family members cousins and aunties! But sadly they do not speak English, I could do a transcript for it if you would like? 🤔 This way you would also teach people that do not Speak English.
    Anyway awesome videos :)

      Possibly! If I get to the point where I feel stable enough with my hormones that I'm confident I can do an extended fast. My last three cycles have been normal length but not precisely the same length so I wouldn't want to do it anytime soon. But I do love fasting and would love to do some more prolonged fasts in the future!

    Can you make recommendations for people who work two jobs that are opposite schedules to each other , because sleep important , but it is so hard to find a schedule that works. I work a full time day job and then work two nights a week the graveyard shift which probably causes my system to be soo wonky. I have been on this journey for two years but just recently started to gain weight and I just don’t know what it is exactly that has made this change.

    I understand sleep is a huge key in health, so what would you recommend for someone who works nights? 7 pm to 7 am 3 days a week. I try my best to switch back to a normal sleep schedule on my days off but is this detrimental to my healthy and fitness progression ?

    • @MissFitAndNerdy
      @MissFitAndNerdy  Před 3 lety +1

      Consistency will be your friend. Stick to the same sleep schedule every day rather than switching back and forth. Obvs it's optimal to sleep at night but if you can't do that every day then it's better to just have a consistent sleep schedule

    Question about sleep; my sleep seems to be ideal; I am falling asleep like 5 minutes after going to bed, I sleep very hard, like a stone, there is nothing what's can wake me up, don't even party in another room, I sleep enough hours. But mornig if I wake up I feel exactly like you said, like trash. No energy, I can eat and go to sleep for another hours. Do you have any idea, what can be the problem? What should I do to help myself? Thanks 😊

      @MissFitAndNerdy  Před 3 lety

      There's a lot of potential causes of fatigue so it would be difficult for me to pinpoint it for you without more discussion. But it could be overtraining, stress, undereating, or a underlying health issue to name a few things. Look at where your other pillars of health might be off and see what you can do to fix them!

    I have underlying health issues. Over half a year ago I started exercising, staying hydrated, and trying not to have deficiencies in my diet. It’s been such a slow change, I do feel somewhat better than I did though, and all this time later I’m starting to see differences with how I look, which is gratifying. My goal wasn’t to look better, my goal was to feel less pain, and in turn I’ve gotten healthier looking. I actually gained weight at the beginning because implementing exercise increased my hunger, and I listened to my body and fed it more, after my body was use to exercise my appetite deceased some and I lost the weight I gained and then some.
