"Now to never leave the house..." Oh, how right you were.
The funny part... exactly 2 years before. To the day. My country lockdown was announced march 13.
Be careful what you wish for... 😂🤣
Downright prophetic.
Shut up
Didn't age very well...
2:22 Shrek is probably their universe's equivalent of the Bible. Orcs regularly sing "All Star" in church as a song of worship.
The Stalwart Scrub Well, Orcs are very nuanced and layered characters, and as we all know ogres are also made of layers (like onions). There's nothing in the Bright lore to confirm this, but since Will Smith compares orcs to ogres it's safe to assume that they are at least somewhat similar.
Hence, ogres=orcs. Just another example of the amazing worldbuilding in Bright.
BattleUp Saber That sounds like it would be an awesome church. 😇
It occurs to me that Bright's concept is basically a grittier and more violent version of Pixar's Onward, and they both even have a centaur cop. Except Onward's world building was more fleshed out
“What’s the centaur cop doing?” goddamn the delivery of that line has me cackling.
It still holds up.
Bright's concept would've worked better as a tv series rather than a movie. A world where mythological creatures evolved beside humans has so much potential for world building and interesting stories. If executed properly, "Bright" could've been the next "True Blood." I would've loved to see how orcs and fairies were effected during the Jim Crow era. How did dragons effect skyscrapers and aircrafts being invented? Plus how, despite all these super-powered creatures, did humans maintain their role as the dominant species?
40 XDDD because we some mean ass creatures that will take any advantage we can be it hiding hunting. war. killing and survival is what we do plus any one of those creatures kills someone's kid bam monster Hunter born I agree a great show but yea we are the dominant species because we the meanest and smartest
In the movie, it doesn't look like we are the dominant species. Apparently elves run everything. We didn't do too badly though.
40XDDD They already had a tv series like that : ALIEN NATION.
How about a series based on Shadowrun? Well thought through world with a good rpg system behind it, and actual racial tension that is not ham fisted "orc gangbangers" or other garbage like that.
Well the premise was interesting, but the writer isn't very good, all it would be is a bad tv show instead of a bad movie. Oh an Alien nation reboot would be interesting.
Honest trailer for Baby Driver!
"Two reporters track down a story, but one of them is a Balrog, which means she's Filipino."
That gave me my loudest laugh in years.
I don't get it.
Ikr. Absolute hilarity.
@@senordickhead100 People say filipino chicks are high maintenance.
I spit out my cereal when I heard that. So good.
I'm Filipino and I don't get it? I'm guessing it might have something to do with getting a girlfriend since I never had one.
"You've never seen a premise this interesting get so squandered."
Yes I have...it was called Terra Nova.
It deserved better tbh
Terra Nova was awesome. It just ended up getting canned.
Meanwhile shitty dramas like This is Us and 911 get season after season of crap.
GRINDING NEMO!!! BWA HA HA HA HA!!!!
what always aggravates me with terra nova is they didn't even write the final episode with a possibility it could be cancelled. It ended on a massive cliffhanger ffs
I really liked that show!
If things get too rough, he can always relocate to Bel Air
okrajoe I love you
😂👍
The Heavily Seasoned Prince of Bel Air.
Just make all the white people elves and have Uncle Phil work for an elven law firm. bam! magical fresh prince reboot.
Lol yes
2:18 Wait... If Shrek exists in this universe, that means there is a Dreamworks.... which means.... THERE IS A SHARK TALE AND A WILL SMITH FISH!!!!! TIME LOOP!!!!
Man, I love that movie!
No. The fish was played by Jet Li in this universe.
bobtheduck Wha...?
Wait so is Shrek like a racist movie there? Or is it an award winning movie about the equality between Ogres and Humans?
@@bobtheduck 🤣 I love the way you think!
For some reason it shocked me that the dragon just flying around like decent birds
Jesus Christ, I never even NOTICED that this had a dragon and a centaur cop, and I've seen it TWICE....lol.
You have to admit though that Joel Edgerton did give a great performance as Jakoby and that visually for a Netflix budget it looks great.
NGL I actually really enjoyed it. Personally I take everyone else's opinions on movies with a grain of salt because there often is just people who will just hate on a movie because everyone else is.
Megaproductions302 no I don't, we deserve better... Much better.
Megaproductions302 a Netflix budget? This movie had over a hundred million dollar budget...
One thing to remember when reading reviews: don't let bad ones ruin a film for if you enjoyed it. If it makes you notice some stuff, it's good because it'll make you appreciate films that do it well.
That said, I found it Bright very disappointing. They had the actors and the setting and did nothing with it. It could've been just normal, real life LA and nothing would've changed. And the whole discrimination angle, how does it affect the story? It was structure like 45 minutes of "Look, Orcs are oppressed" and then 1 hour of "Chase the Magic Wand" and had no impact on each other.
Alana Robertson or everyone hates on a movie because it's just a badly made film in one way or another. Get off your high horse.
It was a fascinating premise but I really wished to delve deeper into that setting. My biggest issue was it basically expected us to know the history it brushed on briefly..
Max isn't a fan of lots of exposition. I appreciated that aspect, actually.
I didn't feel like I needed a lot of explanation.. most people interested in such a film already understand the basics of mythical creatures
The saddest thing about Bright is that it is 30 years behind its time, with nothing new to say.
Alien Nation did the same concept, better, with 6 movies and a TV show literally 30 years ago.
And a comic book.
And a comic book crossover with "Planet of the Apes" (which sounds awesome but actually sucked)
onikin
*NO , ACTUALLY THE SADDEST THING ABOUT "BRIGHT" IS THAT EVEN I COULD'VE WRITTEN AND DIRECTED A BETTER MOVIE THAN THIS . AND MY ONLY QUALIFICATIONS ARE THAT I'VE SEEN "BACK TO THE FUTURE" ABOUT TEN THOUSAND TIMES .*
Or the Shadowrun RPG that made this concept back in 1989 and is now on his 5th edition.
Yeah mate alien nation. Bit sick of tv teaching us how to be racist
@@davidlacoste when I first saw the trailer for this, I totally thought it was a Shadowrun movie.
2020: Welp, we had a good run movies. Now to never leave the house!
Honest Trailer Hot Fuzz / Shaun Of The Dead / The Worlds End ?? (Cornetto Trilogy)
Quite possibly the best unofficial comedy trilogy out there, to me 😆
shame they hadn't done yet
Why is it called the Cornetto Trilogy anyway? I want to know
Electric Boxers They have cornettos in each movie
The Shnall
A cornetto is a food thing right?
Is Shrek a documentary, YES
Highlander was also a documentary
And Shrek gets the Oscar a United Kingdom never got.
Shrek is love, Shrek is life
I enjoyed this movie, but I think it would have been better as a series. They introduced a pretty cool universe that was way too detailed for a single movie to fully explore.
bright was wayyyy better than i thought it was going to be.
Honest trailer Baby Driver.
AND JOHN WICK 2!
nooranik21 can u plz subscribe to me
Pitch Perfect 2 and 3.
Yes
Honestly Baby Driver got robbed, Dunkirk is overrated
Honest trailer baby driver
Trailer name: Baby, You Can Drive My Car."
My wife and I really enjoyed it and are looking forward to the sequel. Hell, we'd welcome a series based on this setting.
This was one of the best trailers you guys have ever done!
I can confirm, we Filipinos are Balrogs disguised as hospital nurses and postmen.
ARGENT 191 can also confirm
Wtf? That's like top secret!!!
Uumm.. Agreed.
don't move!!!
putik na to oh! pre! wag mong ibulgar sekreto natin!
this movie actually had huge potential, and that being said it wasn't even that bad. I would honestly love to see us get a prequel to it.
Me in quarantine: “You can keep an infinite amount if people from ever going outside again” 🤔🤫
"To never live the house" Oh , the sick irony of that phrase in the time we live!. XD
Please do Monty Python and the Holy Grail!
Yes!
Andrew Haase yes!
Yea
Andrew Haase oh hell yeah!
Andrew Haase I've wondered what an Honest Trailer for a Monty Python movie would be like.
Do we ever have an honest trailer pink panther?
shannon boxman remake! :D
and original, they gotta do both :D
Gotta love the fact that the three main characters all have this ability that hasn't been seen in hundreds of years
"You've never seen a premise this interesting..." You got that right!
Honest trailer Baby Driver
Honest trailer Cornetto trilogy
Tinkerbell's really let herself go.
New Message you’re everywhere and I keep liking your messages everywhere too 😂 😂
And developed a serious meth addiction.
I know right.
I think she's got into some toxic waste
New Message, can you list all the channels you're commenting on so I can stop being paranoid that you're following me?
rofl, almost spit out the water I was drinking during that last bit with the "come on everyone, she's not dead, everyone cla-awwww"
I love the voice cracking at the centaur cop.
Honestly I think they have something interesting with bright. The execution may have failed kinda but I think they should continue with the material. The effects were great and so were the performances. I might be the only one
Nah, you're not alone, I actually kind of enjoyed it. It had that late 80's/early 90's charm like Alien Nation. It wasn't amazing by any stretch but an amusing effort. And absolutely agree, the premise of the world has enormous potential. Just needs a little less buddy cop movie and a little more Shadowrun. But I'll watch a sequel and probably enjoy it.
Same here. Saw it after reading the bad reviews and I quite enjoyed this movie.
Movie is Shadowrun RPG. But actual Shadowrun is waaaaaaaaay more interesting.
The idea wasn't original at all. Nothing new to the genre of urban fantasy, crime, action... and the fact that they spent so much time trying to create a message against racism in such an in-your-face way doesn't help. Just an unoriginal buddy cop movie.
And what "message against racism" was that? There were good elves and bad elves, good humans and bad humans, good orcs and bad orcs... unless it was against fairies, fuck fairies!
Say: “the inner mechinations of my mind are an enigma”
Hot Cosby **carton of milk spills over**
The "Wildcard" comment was freakin genius........and sooo true. Funny!
I'm half Guatemalan and I can confirm I am a vampire.
Funny how an honest trailer does a better job at critiquing Bright than most 'film critics'
At least honest trailers gave it a somewhat fair review yea. I kinda liked Bright, it wasn't amazing over the moon or something, but solid. Didn't deserve all the negativity it got.
They basically said the same things that the critics said?
Not really. Most critics shot it dead, dumped its corpse in the water and then shot it again.
+Alex Groot As did Screenjunkies?
I mean, the Honest Trailers team are also film critics, they just write their reviews when the dvd comes out instead of prior to release.

Can you please say " you're my brother from another mother"
Love your work! Had a lot fun times watching these with friends, wish you all the best.
I actually think that a story about a huge raging fire demon trying to make it as a savvy investigating journalist could be hilarious. It's a great premise for a pixar movie.
Please do an Honest Trailer for "Small Soldiers"
theoneandonlythf wait until the 20th anniversary coming up soon
God I haven't heard about that one in a minute
Goodness gracious, was the race relations message in this film THAT ham-fisted?
candiigurl7893 Apparently. If this film wanted to tackle racial politics, be it directly or as an allegory, that's fine. The setting of the film looks pretty interesting. But it doesn't look like it handled it particularly well.
We need a scale or a test on how well works of fiction handle racial politics.
candiigurl7893 The whole thing falls apart when they say that the discrimination against Orcs started because they sided with the Dark Lord in the past. Giving your racial discrimination an actual logical reason to exist immediately tanks the allegory.
Probably because it wasn't really an allegory. People are twisting ridiculous English Lit readings that aren't there into the movie, then criticizing the result instead of realizing they got it wrong.
+Rystefn "ridiculous English Lit readings"? You realize you're talking about a movie that has orc gang-bangers, complete with jerseys and chains?
Oh yes it was and not in a good or interesting way. It was a movie with a great theme and backstory, but badly written(but what should one have expected from a movie made by the same people who made the stupid movie called Suicide Squad, in what world is that a good reference!?)
i never realised how much Will is the Wild card with a by the book cops 😂😂😂
I CAN'T WAIT UNTIL PART TWO...... Part Two of Bright 2: Honest Trailer 2.
Grinding Nemo is brilliant.
Honest trailer for Clover field paradox
Voice break @ 2:27, just beautiful!

Honest Trailers The Last Jedi!!!
Screen Ninja yeah boi
They’ll probably save it for before the Solo movie releases
Please do an Honest Trailer for The Shawshank Redemption.
Yes please
Great Tom Hanks movie
shmaveyea you’re thinking about The Green Mile. Shawshank Redemption didn’t have Tom Hanks in it.
Know it well, know it well. "It truly was, a Shawshank redemption"
bones22j fun fact the directors for Shawshank Redemption originally wanted Tom Hanks for the role of Andrew Dufrain but he turned it down due to how he had already committed to filming Forrest Gump.
*Philip DeFranco* had to be honest about "Bright"... so he featured this video in his "Today in Awesome" segment. Good job.
2:27 LOL!
As a Jew, I fully endorse Bright 4.
Morgan Weinstock 😂😂😂🙏🏻🙏🏻
Oi vey
Say: "Your Name is a masterpiece."
I"M SAYING THAT! EVERYONE IS SAYING THAT!
Come on now, it's good but grossly overrated
Wait didn't you already say that in the dmc honest game trailer at smosh games?
MASTAPECE*
It's alright. I prefer A Silent Voice.
It's old but im watching the 1999 The Haunting, i think this could a great honest trailer
I like how you don't comment on the fact they decided to put in as many swear words as possible
Still enjoyed the movie. Had fun. Want more. *rolls dice for Shadowrun + D&D*
Why haven't you done
Madagascar and
Kungfu panda
Thanks for getting an Honest Trailer back under five minutes.
The first time I read about the movie, I thought it was an April's fool, but then I remembered it was February. Life without perception of time is rough, guys.
And since you did "Bright", How about the "Shadowrun" videogames? Lots of potential for comedy there.
Annihilation, The Ritual, Mudbound and Gerald's Game were pretty good lately
*If you're from overseas for Annihilation
I think that a movie explaining the events leading up to Bright would have been a better movie than the Bright movie itself. This movie had potential, but it was not done as well as it could have been. I wish it would have been done more like Zootopia combined with a modern day take on the Elder Scrolls lore showing all the different people (Elves, Orcs, Argonians, Khajiit, etc.) and how they interact.
Gabriel Crosley That prequel sounds... much better than this movie, really!
They sort did a history video if youtube it i belive.
They should have grabbed the ShadowRun licence. Forget about the 2000 years of the races living together and having the return of Magic a recent thing. that we avoid the mess of having history happening the same way while we have literal magic going around
agreed, I definitely had mixed feelings about the movie
Yeah the screenwriter failed to ask the most important question: Is this the most interesting part of the story to tell? No!? Then why aren't you!
Grinding nemo..Wow that was the best one yet.
After watching this actually makes me want to see it now for some reason
Say: "CZcams comments *tuurrnn* me on"
ROFL! Please do this one!

James Delgado | +5,000
There'd be nothing to do with School of Rock. Make fun/go after Jack Black for basically playing himself? Make fun of kids who are trying their best? The entire concept is silly on its face and the movie embraces it, it's incredibly hard to satirize satire.
Honest Trailer Shallow Hal
Honest Trailers Schoolhouse Rock
The person with the “Grinding Nemo” comment nailed it.
Now that you teased it, you better do one for Black Mirror!
Do an Honest Trailer for Austin Powers trilogy already!
Do The Pirates of the Caribbean Dead Men tell no Tales please. With Michael Bolton.
Say ''Ah, it's time to relax, and you know what that means.
A glass of wine, your favorite easy chair,
and of course, this compact disc playing on your home stereo.
So go on, and indulge yourself, that's right!
Kick off your shoes, put your feet up.
Lean back and just enjoy the melodies.
After all, music soothes even the savage beast.''
I literally had no idea that this movie existed until I saw this. And now, I wish I had never seen this. Great video though. 👍
Say: “Now I am become Death, the destroyer of worlds”
tonycns Personally, I think that J. Robert Oppenheimer quotes are too dark and too timeless for this show.
Charmandy Orton Oppenheimer quoted the Bhagavad Gita a Hindu scripture
You should do a Kickass Honest Trailer.
"that could be my star wars"

HOW HAVE YOU NOT DONE A TRAILER FOR PREDATOR?!?!
