Freddie was a outstanding vocalist, and the only voice training he ever had was in his school choir.

YAAAAY... THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR REACTING TO THIS!
Now, could you PLEASE react to "ENSUENO". It is the "follow-up"/finished piece... a duet where Freddie is singing the operatic baritone INSTEAD of the soprano as he did here.

This was the B side to Great Pretender
When he met montsarat he thought she would find it funny and be a good ice braker
Her English wasn't good and misunderstood.
Said she liked it and could thry have the music written out in two hours
She performed at covent Gardens and had written lyrics to it as a surprise for Freddie
    It later became ensuno

Thanks for listening - as I thing someone mentioned below -- he used this recorded to convince Montserrat Caballe - his opera idol - to sing this -- and in fact, when they did record together, this was called "Ensueno" - and the high part was Montsy - Freddie sang a lower part.. I think you can totally appreciate talent as a singer, yourself!

This is actually the demo tape for the song "Ensueno", a duett with the Spanish opera soprano Montserat Caballe. Freddie sang here actually HER notes as a instruction tape for her to learn.
It has yet no vocals because he wanted her to write the vocals in her mother tongue Spanish.
Please also listen to the completed duet "Enueno" were she sang soprano and he sang baritone. Thanks 🙂

Although it´s synonymous with "dream". Its most often used in an artistic, poetic, etc. sense; because it evokes a more sublime, more beautiful or mysterious meaning.
It would be an oneiric representation during sleep, but also when someone is self-absorbed or abstracted by an illusion or fantasy.

Not bad from an untrained singer, is it? The song was released as the B-side of Freddie's single solo The Great Pretender (originally recorded by the Platters in the 50s) and it was fully orchestrated in 2012 only. Montserrat loved this demo and was asked to write the lyrics for. Ensueno, as the other subscribers mentioned is really beautiful (check it out) and it was the only one song on the whole album when at recording Freddie and Montserrat were on the same place on the same time.

Just judging his vocal performance always seems to me to be too short - sighted. He was and I find that much more remarkable, a great composer and poet who didn't shy away from any genre and also interpreted it. May be you should also go into his compositions, lyrics and song- arrangements.
