Engine is quite reliable until you tune it and push it a lot. Gearbox is well known weak place for these engines. Once they whine, you need to get it fixed. It is not that expensive tho.

I have a Megane 3 Coupe GT 2.0 TCE, and it runs perfect! The engine in this car is know for its good reliability.

Sup, I got the 2.0 180TCE I have 130.000 km on it, no problems at all, I bought it at 80.000 km.
