Whirlpool Error F03 E01 Fix

  • Here is a quick video to show a few ways I tried to resolve the F03 E01 Error on my Whirlpool front loading washer. I ended up buying the replacement switch from repairclinic.com linked below. Before doing so, I tried a number of other fixes including blowing through the hose connected to the pressure switch and checking the drain for obstructions. ALSO - make sure to RUN THE CLEANING CYCLE frequently! I honestly think this was root cause of my issues. I'd be happy to answer any questions for clarity. Good luck - here is the link to the part I purchased:

    Just wanted to thank you for this info. Yours is the first video I’ve watched that mentions the small black tube/switch. We blew thru the small black tube and now the washer is working perfect. I had cleaned the filter and couldn’t figure it out. You saved me $1500 on a new washer!!

    Spot on brother, thank you for the brief, bulleted, but precisely thorough trouble shooting demonstration. My issue wound up being a partially occluded air dome. I found a couple of small items in the pump drain catch (small hook and metal closet shelf peg), but they weren’t problematic. Took seconds to clean the gunk out of the air dome and I’m back up and running. Saved me money and time I can’t afford to waste (especially on NFL game day 😁). Thank you again for taking time to share your experiences.

    THANKS! i saw how easy this looks so I went ahead and cleaned out my drain trap for the first time ever. So much stuff in there, no wonder I wasn't getting correct drainage. 2 pennies, a nickel, A BIC PEN, a bracelet and a bunch of plastic. There was also a large shirt button broken in half, both pieces lodged into 2 of the drain holes. One of the pennies was severely worn into an oval, stuck for up to 4 years.

    I had this error the other day. Machine just kept buzzing even after unplugging and resetting. I checked and cleaned the pump filter but the problem was actually the rubber front door seal. The bottom holes in the rubber were blocked with lint so the water pooled up in that little reservoir. That solved the error message. I did have to remove the top panel to manually open the door. It was locked and a manual open was the only way.

      This! I’ve had these codes previously with debris in the pump screen so that’s where I went first. Then the pressure hose. The biggest clue, which I subconsciously ignored until reading this comment, was the detergent that had pooled at the bottom of the door seal.🤦🏼‍♂️ Poked my finger around each drain hole and it was literally fixed in 30 seconds, 3 hours after I started working on it.🙄

    I've had this issue intermittently for about two years. I've replaced the Air Dome, Pressure Switch and, just last week, the hose from the Pressure Switch to the Air Dome. I thought this last repair had it nailed but this morning the dreaded E01 F03 appeared once again. I think the only option left is the Control Board which, here is Canada, is about $500 - and there is no guarantee it will be the fix (and, of course you can't return the part if it doesn't work). As much as I don't want to, I think I might have to get a new unit. This one is only 7 years old. If I could get it up to the roof to throw it off, I would.

    I removed coins from the filter, blew the black hose, replaced the pressure switch, replaced the hoses, and still had the error. However, I followed the advice below about using the Medium Spin selection... that worked! So, the order I'd recommend... a) checked the filter after removing the back b) check to see if the Medium spin selection fixes it c) clear the black hose d) replace the hoses (they should be done every 5 years) and e) replace the pressure switch

Still would not run C0 and unlock door. Could not spin drum by hand from the back. The load was too heavy. The dryer was stacked on top of the washer. Last resort before ordering parts, take the dryer off to remove the washer top, wife could then reach the door unlock pull tab. Removed 6 small Area Rugs!! Small sheet and two towels!!!! After that, u can then take the rest of the back panel off to get to the filter :)

      so initially, yes, but I got the same error about 4 weeks later (aka this week). After some additional research, I think part of the issue is that we've never run the cleaning cycle so we have lots of liquid detergent and fabric softener buildup. I can get it to run, so I'm running everything through a thorough cleaning cycle. I ran 2 cycles with only afresh tablets on "sanitize' and then 3 cycles on "cleaning" cycle w only bleach and end up having foam/suds coming out of the vent on the back which meant we had soap still in the machine. As I'm typing this, I'm running the cleaning cycle w/ only 4 cups of vinegar which should break down more of the soap. Good luck!

    • @VNEMUS
      @VNEMUS Před 2 lety +2

      @@Rzagski These "lower end" Whirlpool & Maytag washing machines are so finicky. My codes came back after a couple weeks. The last time the codes came up, I put the machine in Test Mode and tested the water valve solenoid unit (hot, cold, fabric softener and oxy) and actually found the cold water valve to not be working. I proceeded to take the top and back cover off, clean out the traps, water inlets and hoses back there as well as, clean out any gunk in the door seal and run a cleaning cycle and everything is "ok for now". I honesty feel like the "common" $40 pressure switch and $45 valve control units are not the real problem. I tend to always wash all my loads on the same settings, so if another setting isn't used enough, it triggers a fault, which makes no sense. The only thing that has kept this going, it seems, is routine pulling apart and cleaning. I'll be damned if I pay a technician $100+ to tell me there's something more going on electronically and pay half the cost of a new unit to temporarily fix it. Unfortunately, it seems 3-5 years on these machines is average to be throwaways. Sorry, this comment doesn't help you. I'm mostly frustrated that I'm still searching for a final fix and it might not be a simple, inexpensive part replacement.

    A technician has to verify different things that could be wrong as a rule of thumb, that's just part of the troubleshooting. You can't tell him I won't pay for this or that because I already did it. You can not put a price on someone's skills and time. Why bother calling for service, you're the kind of customer I wouldn't want to work for . At least be honest upfront when you call a technician and tell him you not willing to pay for what you already did and then is up to him weather to come or not.
