    I never thought about how awkward it is for you to use toilets when you’re out. You do so well..❤

    Oh wow! What a quest that was! Is it legal in Europe to build a toilet in a public space without a disabled toilet? That doesn't seem okay 😔 By the way, I don't know if you eventually found it, but the loo roll was on the floor besides the toilet, as it had fallen from the holder (yuck!) 😳

      What do you think? That money grows on trees and that all buildings in Europe have been modernized? I'm sorry if the world can't keep up.

      @@joaodavid2001 they could have added one less stall and made that space into a larger handicapped stall. There's trillions+ of money out there being wasted. They could spend a couple of bucks on this...😒😒😒

      @@joaodavid2001 Right, so you know blind people aren’t just a new fad and that they’ve existed since the beginning of time. The world has had plenty of time to “catch up.” That’s no excuse, not to mention the most ableist nonsense I’ve ever heard lmao.

      @@joaodavid2001 and the toilets look recently renovated, so they obviously spent money doing something, but didn’t redirect it to a proper or at least subpar disabled toilet.

      @@joaodavid2001 Well, I am from Spain, and while not all old buildings have been updated to include these accomodations, I know that there are laws, rules and guidelines for the new ones. And that hotel didn't look old! So I was just wondering. It was an honest question. You could have replied politely. No need to be rude to strangers on the internet. Have a good day ☀️

    I can’t even figure out some of these crazy modern faucets as a sighted person. 😮
    I once found a mall bathroom with this weird hammerhead shark looking faucet. Turns out the very outer parts were dryers and the center was water. If you did it wrong you could set both off for a lovely mess.

    Do sensor taps and soaps and towels help or are they worse because they might turn on when you don't want them to? Just from being too close?

    • @Chloe-ze4yy
      @Chloe-ze4yy Před rokem +6

      As a blind person, I find them absolute nightmare because you can’t tell where they turn on. So you end up doing some weird martial arts style handwaving to try and wash your hands which is an absolute pain. So personally I prefer the taps with a lever, but if, not a button. And that’s the same for toilets. Hand dryers. However, I prefer them over hand towels which get a bit complicated to find and pull out. However, the caveat that is the Dyson ones where you have to dip your hands in and out to dry them as they’re too low down for me and I can’t see them quickly. Not that I can really see the ones on the wall anyway nowadays
      That’s my opinion on there, intricacies of sensors in toilets

      @morgangrosdidier1654 Před rokem +5

      @Chloe even as a sighted person I have to do the "martial arts hand waving" to get sensor taps to work because they never seem to turn on for me!! I once was at a science museum and one of the rooms had a sensor that determined how many adults and kids had walked into it; it WOULD NOT detect me no matter how many times I walked through

    • @Sarah_Grant
      @Sarah_Grant Před rokem +3

      AGREE with the others here!! I can't use the sensor taps most times as they don't ever register that I'm there. Extremely frustrating!

    My guide dog is really big, a 100 lb German Shepherd. If there’s no large toilet stall for the disabled, I have to put him on a down stay right outside the stall door and hold his leash. It’s caused some surprised squeaks when a sighted person walks into the restroom.

    Omg I hate that when it’s too small Maui is super long for a poodle and even the accessible toilets here are almost to small for my guide dog or a wheelchair it’s awful lucky my partner is my same sex so in the case of having to use a regular toilet I can have her in the stall with me to help but yah bathroom adventures for the win

    It's so rough trying to fit my service dog into American stalls as well! It can be quite awkward since the walls and doors here typically don't go all the way to the floor either, so my dog sometimes ends up sitting with his bum under the wall 😔
