Since March 14th this year I had the exact scenario. They tested the card first with a $0 transaction then a $5 transaction immediately after. I had to call and cancel the card right away. This occurred the day after a direct deposit was made to my account so money was there to be spent.
The only that I know for sure is that if you are in Guyana, once a Guyanese person is around, chain down every that you have or else they will steal it. You have to be a Guyanese to know what I am talking about. But, unfortunately, it is the facts and the reality. You have to remember that corruption in Guyana is a way of life, starting from the person in the highest position to the lowest position in the government, civil service, jobs and etc.
