Even though I agree that his statement was incredibly stupid you can't say Liverpool did spent 7 times the amount only because their net spent is so much higher. The net spent only includes transfer fees. Salaries do matter just as much and that's something that atletico has consistently spent more on over the past years. Still their respective yearly revenues show that Liverpool in general has much more financial resources than atletico. All of Klopp's complaining about smaller financial abilities only make sense compared to clubs like City, PSG and so on but definetely not to a much smaller club like atletico.

They do spend more than atletico but it's not even close to 7 times that amount if you include all the costs that have to be considered.

Also, Atleti have won 3 la ligas in the last 30 years... Liverpool one premier league. And then have to buy young talent which obvioulsly gonna cost some money aswell but you have to build them up and integrate them to the squad from scratch, so u never have the freedom to build something you always have to re-invent from new Nearly every 1-2 seasons.

I watched the return leg against Inter and Atletico did create chances and there was some good buildup play too, they just missed the target more often than hit it. Simeone is the highest paid manager in Europe, he's real good in getting max money for his overrated players when he sells and he buys at low cost, or on free transfers. He's more business savvy than entire (former) Barca board combined which was proven with the Griezmann transfer to the Catalan side and the back-transfer. In my opinion they will certainly beat Dortmund over the 2 legs and given how they play they are built for tournament football so who knows. However, I hope Barca-whose play style is far more eye-pleasing, will beat red and blue madrid in semis.
