Steps to disable or enable Windows 10 defender using reg file:
1.How to create “reg” file to disable Windows Defender
Go to Windows search box and type regedit
Open Registry Editor and navigate to the following key
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows Defender
Right-click on the right panel and create new DWORD (32-bit) Value key
Name the key DisableAntiSpyware
If you already have a key with this name, just miss this step
Right-click on the Windows Defender (folder) key, and create a new (folder) key
Name the folder Real-Time Protection
If you already have a folder key with that name, also skip this step
Now Right-click on Windows Defender folder and export reg file, name it turn off
Open reg file with notepad, if you don’t use a notepad plus, just right-click and click edit
Delete all folder keys, except Windows Defender and Real-Time Protection
Change value data from 0 to 1, to disable anti-spyware, just replace last 0 to 1
Add a new line, under the Windows Defender key, DisableAntiVirus
Then copy and paste this line (=dword:00000001) from anti-spyware
Now we need to add the following lines under the Real-Time Protection key
First, DisableBehaviorMonitoring=dword:00000001
Second, DisableOnAccessProtection=dword:00000001
And third, DisableScanOnRealtimeEnable=dword:00000001
Save the file and check if it works, In the registry, all values must be auto-added under Windows Defender key and Real-Time Protection key, that means you successfully disable Windows 10 defender
2.How to create “reg” file to enable Windows Defender
You can easily edit exiting reg file, just open it with notepad and type minus signs after an equals signs next to all values e.g. (DisableAntiSpyware=-), this deletes all exiting values in the registry
Then save the file as a reg extension

when I open the Microsoft file, it just shows "system certificate" and "power". So i've disabled literally everything. Antivirus, real time protection, anything that can be disabled that is anti virus related. But I still get this DREADED message. "Couldn't download, virus detected." The only thing that I can think of that is still blocking this, is the organization thingy. In my virus and threat protection, it says it's managed by my organization.

Hi, please try to give full control permission to the key folder which you try to edit.
Right-click on folder, permissions, select the user and check the box full control.
then try to create DWORD (32-bit) Value.

Ok, I think you just enter the wrong path, so just try to copy the registry path from the video description, after open regedit and paste it into the registry, under tabs there is a section which shows the path so replace it with yours from the description and hit enter must be ok

@@eliaslindholm5181 Hi, It's strange, you must be signed as an admin, that's maybe the reason or you may did some Windows updates, I can not tell you the exact reason??? you can sign in as admin and try again must be ok. anyway if this method does not work for you, you can try this tutorial:

Note: Try method 2, and your Windows version must be Pro to use group policies (gpedit) that works 100% but this method works 100% also you may do something wrong:) anyway, try to disable it with group policies.
