- RAF Cosford has marked its 85th anniversary with a trio of celebrations, which saw the presentation of a new standard and the reformation of one of the Royal Air Force's schools of technical training.
The base opened its doors in 1938 and played a crucial role in the Second World War.
The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal Sir Richard Knighton, who last month officially took over command of the Royal Air Force, was the parade's reviewing officer.

Was a Boy Entrant Photographer there in 1963 during the horrendous winter months in Fulton Block. Happy memories.
Got a wonderful air museum has well, lovely landscape and some fab air shows,
Let’s hope this is a station that survives any further defence cuts. We have lost so many bases I remember. RAF Leuchars, RAF Lindholme, RAF Scampton, RAF Topcliffe, the list is huge.
Thank You so much
Great airshow there this year, and of course, the museum. Was also station here in 1966 on the initial photo course. Glad it's still an operational station and hasn't gone the way of some by being closed down.
I was a product of No2 S of TT, leaving in 1973 .
Nice to see the milestone ai trained at No1 school of trchnical training RAF Cosford 1989. Per Ardua Ad Astra
Lived at 108 Vallient road 1980-1982
Also there in 1963 but in ice cold A lines and not comfy Fulton Block!
