What car were you in? My best time with a passenger in the car was in the 2:15’s. 115mph was as fast as I saw on the back straight. I wasn’t able to time my solo runs. I’m pretty impressed with how this car ran with the stock engine and suspension. I did use about 50% of the front pads and my street tires are pretty torched 😂.
@@OldMech80 The yellow ek9. I saw myself at the end of your video right after I spun out in turn 5 on my first lap that session. I forgot the tires need a lap or so to warm up and went too hard. Then again at the end of your last session where I was on the ground fixing my car lol. The AC tensioner pulley came off entirely and wedged itself between my crank pulley and the side of the engine bay. Took me almost 2 hours to get that fixed to drive home. I was just trying to stay out of peoples way that day because it was my first time there. I need to look at my pad usage as well they turned my front wheels black. Hoping they last decently they are Carbotech xp10 and were not cheap. My Hankook RS4s were melted pretty good but I am hoping to get the rest of the year out of them at least. I think 2:15 is a pretty good time. I need to take my VA out there at some point but I don't really want to run it as hard as I do my civic.
Right on! Oh man that sucks about the pulley. FWD problems for sure! Ironically, your car is in the thumbnail for this video as I almost spun off turn 1 at 10:08! Yeah those EBC’s weren’t exactly cheap either but my car weighs almost 3600lbs with just me in it. So I think they had their work cut out for them. Fun day. See you next time, maybe in a GT-R? 😁
I would also add that my car got pretty hot after about 3 laps, I took it easy on the main straight for one lap and temps went back to normal for another 3 laps. I’m investing in an aftermarket radiator before I hit it again.
@@OldMech80 I would love to take my GTT to the track but it is kind of setup for drift and I think I'd slide it too much and get the boot lol. The car is so easy to start a slide in but I really do need to learn to control it better outside of drifting. For whatever reason I am just better at driving a FWD car fast than RWD, likely just need more experience. I didn't even notice the thumbnail. That would have been a very interesting way to meet you if that slide kept going lol. I walked by your car a few times looking to talk about it but you were never there. Maybe next time. I think I might come back out on July 12th if I can make it. I want to go as much as I can this year. I am hopeful that day will be less crowded since there isn't a SCCA race that weekend only a BMW HPDE event.
