Also when you are delegating you should ask their name and call THEM specifically out. Never say somebody call 911, because bystanders get caught up in the moment and won’t likely call for help. If you make it specific to the person (if anyone is present) then that is much more effective.
i think there were some studies that said the bystander effect wasn't so. I think the goal is to get help, if you have to call by their middle name then go ahead
@@senvr11 Even if the bystander effect doesn’t happen, people can get caught up a traumatic moment and mentally “lock up”. I would still say delegating to a specific person you call out (while you perform emergency care) is better than the alternative.
@@senvr11 Granted, you hope to not have to be in a situation like that. If there is anyone here that’s EMT certified or in medical practice, let’s discuss this more! Always important to have standard procedure for events like that.

@@SpeeDManRLyeah. admittedly, if you knew their name, that would snap them out of it quick

@@SpeeDManRLyeah, maybe there's a better attention-grabbing phrase that's better than "Someone". and yes god willing i never have to actually say it
When using an AED, does it matter if garments/clothes are on at all?
