Don't take your love away from me
Don't you leave my heart in misery
If you go then I'll be blue
'Cause breaking up his hard to do
Remember when you held me tight
And you kissed me all through the night
Think of all that we've been through
Breaking Up Is Hard To Do
They say that breaking up is hard to do
Now I know, I know that it's true
Don't say that this is the end
Instead of breaking up I wish that we were making up again
I beg of you, don't say goodbye
Can't we give our love another try
Come on baby, let's start a new
'Cause breaking up is hard to do

How can someone not lose one note, one pitch after a half-a-centry? All the timing and it is still played so easily
If you listen to Oh Carol from this same show he makes a mistake at the beginning but corrects himself perfectly.
On his CZcams page he does daily mini-concerts from his home. He’s still “got it.”
Well it’s in a lower key for a start. 😂😂😂😂
slower and lower key. and prob talent
Years of practice. My piano teacher told me it’s muscle memory. For example when you drive your car and change the gear(manual) your hand will go straight to the gear knob without looking. The same applies to the piano. We are taught not to look at the keys when playing. Well my teacher taught that way. Elton John is a great example - his hands move up and down the keyboard and he doesn’t look down. Occasionally he will as does Neil. The order of the keys in particular the black keys allow you to find your place by the physical feel of the keys. There are times players will intentionally look at the keyboard when performing-gives them a break from looking into the darkness and smiling etc to people they can’t see.
Man he is so cheery it is infectious. You just can't help but smile and bop your head with the music, and he still sounds just as good, even after all these years! Fun!
Alex, oh my gosh, you wrote this comment - 13 years - ago! Neil is amazing. I fell in love with him at age 15 (yikes) - I’m 55 now. I heard his slower rendition of this song and I was hooked! You know how teenaged girls like to cry, and yes, who knows why. It was good to see you have the same thoughts I have about Neil’s infectious joy as he plays. It’s certainly easy to see. Isn’t it marvelous? ❤️
This was recorded on July 15th 2004, in the Royal Albert Hall
He looks so cute singing this song with the piano.
Listening to this live version of this song makes Neil Sedaka look like one cool, classy cat!!
Wonderful song...I like it so much...Neil Sedaka has a incredible voice and plays very well !!
I agree!! 😍😍😍
As stated if any belongs in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame it is Neil Sedaka.
I saw Neil Sedaka on stage in the late 70s. Originally, we went to the concert to see his BACK UP Andy Gibb and were going to leave right after. Who wanted to see that old fashioned, unhip old guy? He was of my older sisters generation, not mine. While leaving the venu he started his first song. We stopped, listened and were blown away! He was a phenomenal showman who had the huge audience in the palm of his hand. One of the BEST concerts ever that I have never forgotten.
My late father introduced me to Neil Sedaka's songs in the 80's while learned a musical instrument, and I still love them in 2021
Neil still has that fabulous voice! He should be inducted into the Hall of Fame.
I'm a 29 year old man, but my mother plays all this 60s stuff at home and it just grew on me. This is a great song. People need to be a bit less pretentious about music, if something is catchy and you like it then more power to you.
Long live Neil Sedaka he is an excellent artist and gentleman
waking up is hard to do
MrRadwint19 z waking up is hard to do. I think of this song every morning cos my son won't get up for school!
Low class moron.
If you like good music, clear lyrics, meaningful words and great piano playing, Neils your man.
What a man! Alone with a grand Yamaha at RAH! Fantastic ! Neil is one of the big ones!
I used to listen to his songs with my grandfather as a child... Glad to hear he's still as good as he was then.
2020? Isa kba sa humahanga sa galing ng boses at pag piano ni Neil Sedaka? Like naten to kabayan 👍🏻
Oo walang kupas
Matanda na pero guapo pa rin!
Galing pa rin batang bata ang boses pati pagplay ng Piano
Who can sing like that anymore? Now is all autotune, echos, and editing. His voice is clear even though he is older. Hard to keep that after many years of singing.
+Bill Chan but he still has that golden voice
he does.@michael jagger
Great song and great performer! Two thumbs up to Neil Sedaka!
My daddy used to sing this song to me every night when I was little, and he's now teaching me how to play it on piano♥ love this song :D
"Breaking up is hard to do". That's the purest expression of reality! I'm living it!
Great love this
Perfect !!! Our Elton John from the 60s. I Love Sedaka's songs. What a such talent, a real Show Man !!!! It never gets tired to hear It.
One of THE greatest artists of all time. Some people just PRACTICE music,,,but this guy UNDERSTANDS music. Are you listening Rhianna , Sheeran , Beyonce, Gallagher ,,and the rest of you pretenders?
Piano skills. He's got them.
the bridge in that song is one of the greatest feats in music history.
Culpano Isn't that the truth!
you are right on!
Man is truly Awesome !! I know he loves his family, especially his Grand kids !
Who's listening in 2024???
You can't listen to his music and not smile.......try it!
How can his voice be even better!! 😍
i like this version.. this song is truly pure and innocent.
the piano intro really reminds me of joplin's "the entertainer"...
This came so easily to a man who was a pro musician from the day he was born.
I love Neil's music !!!
A very talented man.
Jesuschrist, that was brilliant!!
This is a master at work. He has left hand on bass like a prize fighter.
This was an unbelievably wonderful show. I hope he can manage another UK show so I can see him live.
One of the all time greats, and a class act. They don't make them like that anymore...
Now That's Talent! A piano and a voice, a concert wih thousands of people. Simply One Of The Best in The Business.
On this day in 1962 {October 16th} Neil Sedaka performed "Breaking Up Is Hard To Do" on the late Dick Clark's American Bandstand...
Four months earlier on June 30th it entered Billboard's Hot Top 100 chart; and on August 11th it peaked at #1 {for 2 weeks} and spent 14 weeks on the Top 100...
Back-up singers on this version were the Cookies...
Thirteen years later in 1975 he recorded a slower version of the song; and on December 13th it entered the Top 100 and peaked at #8,,,
R.I.P. Mr. Clark...
Ele canta MUITO BEM!!! Tão dificil achar um cantor mais velho cantando tão bem ainda!!!!!!!!!
Braking-up is Hard to do
I was visiting Smith Falls, Ontario, a town with moral integrity, moral decency, my uncle Henri worked in RCA Record Co, My cousin Real said his girl friend suffered, Braking-up was hard to do. such memories ! ! !

Neil still got it love this song ❤️❤️
Love it his voice sounds the same that is a singer.
Thank you for sharing this video!
Oh my GOD, I almost was 15 ór 16 years old...So nice memories.
The bridge of this song is so good
This dude still got it!!!
WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
he's an amazing singer
This song was 50 years ago no.8 in the world charts
OMG I always thought the up-tempo teeny-boper version of the song was the one Sedaka was forced to put out by the record companies. This shows that he loves this version just as much as the slower soulful one of the 1970s. I hope he performs them both in concert. You really have to hear them both because they're not the same song.
It was recorded in London at The Royal Albert Hall, April 7th 2006... :-)
Great solo concert - but I'd like to see Neil perform the European cities like Brussels, Amsterdam & Paris... He never did a full concert on the European continent, and that's a pity...
The DVD of this concert is just awesome!
Sir...Mr. Sedaka...This one pierces the soul...thank you...Love...2022...
Neil Sedaka, sua alegria é contagiante, Adoro suas músicas!
No matter how or when I here this song 🤣 I love it, it's like the happiest breaking up song ever 😅 lol 🌸🥰
Lol, since I was 7 I've been liking his songs and I'm still 15. >.
Dos bons tempos...da... inocência...
A true talent!
A1 Neil .
I love his ballads omg looking for this song as a ballad hes the best at ballads
awesome 👌
Wooow !
Fantastic!
He is just kamma kamma daun duby dub daun daun" !
Looking good, Mr. Sedakaaaa....
Agree ! Fantastic!
Just incredibly sweet...he seems so happy.
