  • When it comes to buying a fire for your home there are quite a few options.
In this short video, Pete Hillier Director of EcoFires and Stoves www.ecofiresan... talks about the most important choice you have to make before going on to the design.
And that is what fuel would best suit your purpose, wood burning, gas or electric. All have their pros and cons as Pete explains.
As he says, some customers come to his showroom with a definite idea of what they want and yet after demonstrations and discussions take place, the customer has a clearer picture of what suits them, their house and life style.

I have a wood burner, I didn't know how to work it properly until I saw your video about that one. I would pick wood burner over gas or electric, purely for the process of slowly building the fire.

Your discourse and presentation are so well done!
    Congratulations! 👏
P.S. Wood is here to stay 😉

I am taking out gas fireplace and putting in a wood stove. I have a gas furnace. But I like to have a backup heat source.

Nice video... I just got the Sherington 5 gas stove installed today. Really happy with it. Looks great. Only problem is... I wish I got it sooner!! 😃

Does it give out a good amount of heat?

    • @rhack10

@Longshanks1956 of course, you can turn the heat up high if you wish.... the rom will get very hot. I usually leave the heat on low and I'm fine and warm

Would have been cool if you mentioned heat output and type of gas vs wood.

I find your videos very beneficial.Thank you .
Can we have a free standing gas stove with the flue sticking out of the back and straight back right through the wall ? I don't think my chimney has a cavity upwards.

Gas fire isn’t so cheap to run now in 2022 🤭

Wood the way to go surely unless they ban them in future.

It's cheaper than electricity, and as far as I can work out, currently about the same price as using wood in the UK.

Are there any very small gas stoves (e.g. Hobbit / Apple Pie sized) with rear flue?

He's a lazy type of bloke. Cleaning out your fire is not an issue.
