@@sonofblessed bro how is he a jerk
Reportedly after this interview, he turned to his assistant Bev Stol and said, "No more men in gold suits" *sigh*
JusticeFor SriLankans he's still too obtuse to see Ali G is a made up character
+drew the thing is if you do see it then what. What do you suggest they do?
boliussa wagwan
@@drewosamu6694 Pretty sure they know eachother?
Noam is indulging Sacha as if he were a small kid! So patient! Hats off!
Two geniuses having a conversation is always interesting
Still a better discussion than the one with Focault.
Search CZcams for the Focault Chomsky debate. He's a philosopher, historian, sociologist.
Mineav Couldn't be more accurate.
Aw, I thought you meant Ali G interviewed Foucault. I thought he'd died earlier than that.
roasted lul
john m I'm pretty sure you've never read a single sentence that Foucault wrote. I've got a feeling that you've just copied your opinion of Foucault from someone like Jordan Peterson or Camille Paglia? Not to say that they aren't magnificent philosophers/thinkers, however Foucault had several fascinating theories about our society and how we conduct ourselves in it, even though he was also wrong about several things. Also Foucault didn't consider himself a postmodernist at all. He considered himself a Nietzschean, which he kind of was.
"...And start speaking proper. Respek.". Noam laughs.
The fact that Cohen's cousin is a knighted professor with a background in developmental psychology makes this 100 times better
This is beautiful in every sense of the word
you can obviously see how much respect they had for Noam. The prank was super light and polite.
I can't decide whether my favorite Ali G line is him asking Noam Chomsky "How many words does you know?" or the time he quizzed Kofi Annan on why Disneyland isn't in the UN.
That was actually Boutros Boutros Boutros Gali.
@@DerDuke hahahah, love that you wrote Boutros three times, hahahah
Why do Michael Jordan get is own seat? 😂
I liked him saying that Buzz Aldrin was "the first man to walk on the sun" :D
I'm just wondering if chomsky knew he's speaking to a fake character, or if he took him for a real person
It did seem like he understood the hilarity of the situation on some level after the fist bump.
Yeah it seems after he mentioned "nobody would pay the slightest attention to him cause it would be a waste of time" he was getting frustrated and im sure they told it was all a joke. Thats why at the end he is kinda smiley.
he was told beforehand that it was a serious interview, however the moment Ali G walked in, he knew it was a joke (
I can't watch anything this guy does or did without thinking about his ADL appearance where he unmasked himself finally.
Jews gonna jew.
Chomsky or Cohen?
Reporting from Oct 31 2019. Happy to say that, after watching another interview w/ Chomsky, he explained exactly how he felt about that interview. Not only did he not want to do it (BBC came and gave him song and dance about how it'll be serious), but he nearly terminated the whole thing, and only remained out of politeness and courtesy. Good man, Great thinker.
Yeah I saw that too. There aren't too many people I'd say don't deserve to be trolled because their time is too important, but in the case of Chomsky I would definitely make that case. He reportedly gets 100's of speaking requests a day, and his interviews are always brilliant.
This show was not commissioned or produced the the BBC.
@@AA-hg5fk Yeah, and Chomsky says that he'll pretty much talk to anybody with a camera. He was on Alex Jones podcast years ago for pete's sake. He'll really talk to anybody to get his message out there. He says he knew it was a joke, I suspect he didn't know what KIND of joke, he doesn't strike me for his humour.
i thought Chomsky showed great manners in being so patient and understanding towards Ali G
I think this is the pinnacle of comedy. Nothing is better than this. The only bad thing about it is it’s so damn short.
This is great. I love both of these guys for different reasons.
Two of me favourite anarchists in one place!
When Ali drop his grammatical structures, Chompsky linguistic comprehension competence go haywire innit?
Yo big up to parachute, camera n spageti, they good thing aint ey?
Chomsky is not an anarchist, he's a syndicalist.
@@hanshuber9633 Meh, he mostly isn't really an anarchist nor a sindicalist, although he did declare as either or both a few times.
In any case, as the great anarchist philosopher Ali G once said: "It's a case of you say tomato - I say potato, innit?"

Being able to talk to idiots in a calm and patient matter is the mark of the highly intelligent. Good on Ali.
doesnt save the Earth tho
this is the noam chomsky video that has the most views, holy shit we are a sad lot indeed
Doesn't matter if it's opposed to "left wing ideology" or not. Even the most reactionary forms of art have revolutionary potential.
Piano Aquieu nah
Tyler , that's actually a good thing.
Fight Club wasn't espousing an ideology at all. It was heavily ironic.
But the ideology present in the movie/book I'd say was left wing. Both the left and right have the capacity for totalitarianism. And, as Chomsky has said, anarchism was born on the left.
Yeah, doesn't the book go into a lot more detail about how heavily communistic the group became? Although they were certainly all following their totalitarian "leader"
I like how he actually asks some on point fundamental linguistic questions.
Absolutely!
I can't believe I've just seen this!! Love Ali G allll day but love love Noam on another level!! Hes given so much to us all, extremely selfless and absolutely brilliant!! Thanks! Respect lol
Wasn’t expecting this but made my day
ali g is cunnilingual, nice.
Aren't we all? lol
Hes so respectful and understanding to ali. He explains things so that he understands and doesnt just mock ali like other interviewees.

One of the most intelligent man on earth meets Noam Chomsky
It's a real shame this is the most viewed Noam Chomsky video
Actually cool, because many more people know now who he is.
Why is that
@Samantha Scott Just weird attempts at insults from the tankie crowd as usual, the constant fear of being labled some kind of phobic by your "comrades" leads to very strange insults which is always entertaining, though.
Yeah, someday you will be old too and if you live long enough you will see all your friends and loved ones die as well. In that case, I will presume you will be lonely too, more so than now which implies that you could not be that lonely at all right now or the loneliness could be negligible.
Without nonsense meaning would have no meaning
no it isn't, good interview
i love how he just answers the questions and doesn’t feel threatened or mocked at all
These people interviewed are so trusting and patient and tolerant
