      King Trapical it loud AF !! I have one on my 2000 5.3 Silverado, it might be a bit much in a hatch back style like the camaro tbh, you might wanna consider the super 44 which is just one up from the 10

    Imo the best sounding mufflers were the Hush Power Pro Series & the Super 10 muffler. Badass!

    • @demort71
      @demort71 Před 7 lety +1

      The old Thrush mufflers were great sounding too. The packing typically blew out of them in about 90 days or less. I couldn't stand the drone of them today though. Hooker makes some decent modern mufflers in their Aerochamber and Max Flow models. Check them out first. That is the way a real muscle car muffler is supposed to sound.

    I have Series 40 mufflers on my '73 Nova, and its very, very loud - just the way I like it. I also have Series 40 mufflers on my 2012 Challenger R/T, and its loud, but not as loud as I'd like it. By no fault of Flomaster, as the catalytic converter's act like mufflers by themselves. Because of this, I'm going to put Series 10's on my MOPAR.

  • @ronniemorris9685

    I bought a brand new 2002 Mustang GT convertible in July 2002. A month later I put on a set of 40 series Delta Flow. They sounded great. What's crazy is they're still on the car in 2018, and, they're still in good shape, along with the original stainless steel pipes. Has 70K miles on it. 15.5 years of use has changed the sound to very aggressive, which I like. I started it up to move it for a contractor to do some garage door work. The guy immediately said it sounded like I had some badass stuff under the hood. Nope. Just a K&N cold air intake & my 15 1/2 year old Delta Flow 40s.

    well, i ended up putting a flowmaster super 10 in place of my stock muffler. The sound level is really dissapointing. I expected it to be pretty damn loud, but it has no pop, isn't loud, and mellows out quickly. I have a buddy with a original 40 and y pipe with tips, and it sounds pretty much the same to me. I really am not sure why my super 10 isn't that loud. I've heard some people say there is a break in time, but I've had it on for probably two months now and it sounds about the same.

    • @roryp7415
      @roryp7415 Před 7 lety

      aftermarket mufflers can save on weight and allow for more airflow on a modified engine, just like the rest of the exhaust system. Modified cars need to keep their noise down to stay street legal, so you pick a muffler big enough to keep the thing legal while increasing airflow and shedding weight as much as possible.
      As for cars that are purely on track and not used on the road, a small muffler while having very little effect on airflow and weighing fuck all, will save the driver from going deaf over time. Spending a track day in a straight piped car can get pretty painful on the ears after a couple hours

    Why do exhausts have H or X cross pipes? Why do dual exhausts need to be connected? Great video thanks.

      It has to do with maximizing the savaging effect. By using either a X or H pipe the exhaust banks are able to equal the pressure between each other. However by using a X pipe you can use the speed and pulse separation between each bank to help accelerate and pull the other banks exhaust out of the chamber instead of only relying on the pressure of the cylinder forcing it out. Do you always need to run one or the other on dual exhaust? No, for years and year true dual was the way to go. In some instances an H pipe is better of for an engine than the X pipe but that is a whole different series of research that I doubt will fit into this youtube comment box. Hope this help.

    What does the Super 40 Dual inlet/Dual Outlet look like on the inside..? Will it also function as a 'cross-over' to equalize flow pressures..?
    I am planning to use this on a basically Stock Mustang 3.9 V6...along with adding long-tube headers w/3" collectors, into Hi-flow CATs with 2.5" outlets, then into the Flowmaster... will I need to also add HushPower's as 'resonators' to prevent droning and excessive interior sound..?
