My grandmother had a sugar cane mill on their farm back in the 1920's in south Georgia. It was powered by a mule. Last time I was there the mill and well where still there.
I'm from Brazil, I'm 19 years old, I have already seen one of those in a musiam, it's pretty cool to see how those things evolve as the time goes on

When i was a child in my hometown province in Puerto Princesa City Palawan way back in 1970's I remember biting sugarcane harvested from our neighbor..my teeth are strong still then...but now that i am already in my late 50's i buy sugarcane juice freshly squeeze in Suki Market near me in Quezon City Philippines....
