Paul, You are an absolute genius. Seeds have been planted!!! I have several hundred planes and am always finding it difficult to get the planes I would like to in this day and age. Its becoming harder and harder to come across the decent planes that stanley used to make without trading a child or an arm for one. I have quite a few clunkers that need another purpose and you have just inspired me to do a few things with them. I can say this without even meeting you that I love your mind! I love that you tinker so much and have done this. I would love to spend a couple days in your head. My mind is not reeling with ideas and I just needed that little push you just gave. Thank you!
full plate !!! wow the master of the understatement as well as the puffy finger cup inventor ,my hat is off to you !! now i need a nap :) thanks for sharing
Has there been, or should there be any discussion of a scraper plane used in conjunction with a shooting board? Scraping endgrain does come up, so I thought I’d ask. Big admirer of your endeavors. Thanks!
So I picked up this thing from an antique store. It's on a long handle that looks like a lathe tool handle. Then it is what looks like a tiny square box plane that pivots on a hinge. I know Jimmy diresta had one in his plane collection video. But he didn't say what it was called
Wow. This video literally blew my mind. I am a young up and coming tool collector. I would love to pick your brain on some stuff. Is there a way to contact you?? If you wouldn’t mind that is....
For a scraper plane or shave with a fixed 90 degree cutter, is 45 degrees the best geometry for the burr? I have read that the burr should be drawn to 30 degrees off vertical, is that your method? Thanks in advance
Good sir. I am sure Stanley would have been a much better company post WW with you in charge. VERY nice modifications.

30 degrees to 45 degrees not that critical but when turning the burr find the angle with the burnisher and raise it 5 to 8 degrees when turning burr.
Paul Hamler thanks, I’ll try it that way

Is there a still room for a hand plane in XXI century? Power tools are 10 times better, faster and cheaper.
You must still be young enough to know everything so you answered you're own question .
