Irish Guards (Old Guard) coming on duty at Buckingham Palace.
Pipes and Drums of No 12 Company Irish Guards marching up to St. James's Palace.
Band of the Scots Guards being inspected prior to playing some Christmas music on the parade ground of Wellington Barracks, they played the same music that they played on Christmas Eve, except in a different order.
Band of The Scots Guards leading Number 7 Company Coldstream Guards (New Guard) to Buckingham Palace.

Than you Delvin, it was just to busy to get to see the Pipes and Drums as well. Hopefully it will quieten off a bit after the holidays.

Great Video MrBaton74! Am so happy the Band of the Scots Guards played "Burns on the March" arranged by James H Howe back to barracks such an appropriate ending of "Auld Lang Syne" to end 2023.

Happy new years. It's 2024 and I heard it going to be like 2022. Irish guards again and Irish guards trooping of colour again mate.
First time ever for 2nd Bn Irish Guards! Even when the 2nd Bn was in full strength in earlier years, they never did a Trooping.
@@wu_1116 The 2nd Battalion doesn’t exist. They created two independent incremental companies that carry the colours and customs of the 2nd Battalion. Independent companies are not apart of a battalion.
With a Tinge of Sadness I settled Down to watch the Last Guard Change of 2023. It's been a Great Year for the Guardsmen of the Household Division & a very Busy one. It would not be an Exaggeration to say that All the Regimental Bands & All the Regiments of The Household Guards, took Part in the Making of a Piece of History in 2023. I'm talking ofcourse of the Coronation of King Charles lll, the first Coronation of a New Monarch in 71 Years. I'm pretty Certain that none of the Guardsmen were Present for that one, but they Played their Part in the 2023 Coronation & it's quite Possible that some could Play a Part in the Next one.
A great lifting of Spirits & then lots of Smiles, as The Band of Scots Guards exited WB Gates led by my Favourite Drum Major, SDM Gareth Chambers MVO. As they Swung into the Spur Rd, I could hear two of my Favourite Instruments, Base Trombones, then Consternation, I could only see 1 in the Front Rank! Clever Mr B had excellent Camera Work right up Spur Rd, Pause.. Replay.. Pause ..Replay. I'm sure I could hear 2!! but there was only 1 in the First Rank, over on the Left! OK, so my ears are playing Tricks, maybe its the Atmospheric Conditions, heavily Overcast & Still. But No! wait... Pause.. Replay again.. Yes!! There it is!! Bass Trombone Number 2, hidden away in the 3rd Rank with the Tubas & Euphonium, those Sneaky Scots!
The Atmospherics did however make a Difference to the Audio though, With Mr B Positioned to the Right of the Gate into Wellington Barracks, You can quite Clearly hear The Scots Band & Old Guard exit BP at the Slow March. I didn't need to read the Description to know who the Old Guard was, I clearly heard "Let Erin Remember" The Regimental Slow March of The Irish Guards. I've never heard the Slow March out of BP so Clearly, that far away before, it had to be the Conditions, or perhaps Santa bought Mr B some New Sound Equipment, because he was on the "Nice" List this Christmas, whatever it is, it Sounded Great. A New March for me "Burns on the March" Yet another of those Marches made up of Several Pieces of Significance, In the same way of It's Yer Day & the Yuletide March, this one of Significance to the Scots, Musical Pieces Written by the Great Robbie Burns (Thank you to wasawat.cnetprahas for the Info below). Fittingly ending with "Auld Lang Syne". And ofcourse, as is Tradition, "St Patricks Day" the Regimental Quick March of the Irish Guards, to Welcome the Old Guard Home.

I was hoping for the Scots Guards to be in 6's again for the last Guard Change, guess it wasn't to be. Was quite sneaky of them to hide the other trombone like that, do you think they read these comments and try to trick us? It was nice to hear the tune Auld lang Syne as they returned to the barracks, did seem to finish things off properly. No new equipment I'm afraid but it was a nice fresh cold day that sometimes helps with the audio, maybe even the wind was in the right direction. Happy New Year.

Hi Mr B!@@MrBaton74 If you'd asked me that Question 6 Months ago, I would've said Nah, they wouldn't be interested in what we have to say, but after My Favourite Bass Trombone-ist, Guardsman Musician & my first "I know your Name" Irish Guardsman Band Member, SGT David Lockwood popped up in the Comments after the Lord Mayor's Parade on Remembrance Day, I'm not so Sure. Maybe they do, like an Actor or Actress always want to read the Reviews after an Opening Night Performance. I do know one thing though, if you take a Look at SDM Chambers as they start up the Spur Road to BP, he has the Full on Total Mick Swagger going, I've never seen it that pronounced, & there was a chat between some of us Girls, when Charlotte announced He was her Crush, seconded by Myself & 1 or 2 Others. We've decided to make the SDM Gareth Chambers MVO Fan Club, Official in 2024. I wonder if someone told him. I know how we can Check for sure Mr B! If a Band plays a certain Piece as they're doing their Static Warm up or Play it on the March to BP or Back to WB, we'll know for Sure! I say if we see or Hear a Band Marching to the Theme of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, we'll know they're watching Us & are trying to Trick Us!! Do you remember the U Turn in the March to BP? then there was the Change to the Normal Order of the Guard Change Parade Timings, Maybe all of that has been a Conspiracy to Trick Us! Not that I'm Paranoid or anything, but is that the Top of a Bearskin I can see Looking in the Channels Window over there?? Oh No, as you Were, it's just the Cleaners Scrubbing Brush, left on the Window Sill Outside to Dry. Remember Mr B, the Theme from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang!

VickyRoyal…another note! Your message to MrB sent me down a rabbit hole learning some things and a big discovery was learning about the annual memorial service held for King Charles I outside Banquet House, opposite Royal Horseguard every year on the last Sunday of January. This is 28 Jan. Prior to the service and parade a wreath is laid at the statue of Charles I in Trafalgar Square. Following the service a parade then marches through Horseguard Parade to the Mall and end where I do not know! I will be attending this year. This country never stops amazing me…always something of interest to know about.
