RAMM: A Picture of Health - the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital

A Picture of Health: Exeter's Medical History was exhibited at RAMM from September 2022 to January 2023.
The 18th century portraits of physicians, surgeons and founders that inspired this exhibition once hung in the boardroom of the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital, looking down on staff and patients as the hospital changed beyond recognition.
Their modern counterparts may look very different now the NHS has a more diverse and inclusive workforce than ever before. However, they share a commitment and dedication to caring for their patients, which is a thread running through medicine throughout history.
