The kata EMPI performed by Luca Valdesi (ITA) at the 21st World Karate Championships in Paris, France. He placed third. Visit www.karatebyjesse.com for more info!
This kata is pretty good. The movements are a little fast and cut off. All in all though this video has really helped me prepare for an upcoming tournament.
I don't look at the limbs. They move fast but it doesn't mean a lot. I look at the torso. What I see is excessive tension and stiffness. Compare old, archival G. Funakoshi clips. how at his 50-ties he was performing Kata Tekki - immense power hidden behind sloppy, lazy almost moves. Torso relaxed but alert. No nervousness. Calm, open mind.
Did you know that I learn karate 8 years old and I am a brown belt and when I am a black belt I will be the youngest black belt in the island I live on. NO JOKE and anyway Luca your...your GOOD in Karate
I know Valdesi is a World champion and all and that he has a lot of years of experience to speak for him, but, he is all over the place. No wonder Diaz has been winning over and over.
What can I say - very disappointing kata - sloppy technique for high speed - various swinging movements are not linear and straight but from the side - completely wrong for shotokan ... I can't understand the WKF there! Similar to kumite - sloppy technique gets points - shame for competitive karate...was much better in the 90's and 2000's..
Wow! That’s awesome!!
fantastico
The 15 dislikes 😂😂 you must be off your chops, this guy is legendary 🥋
his forward stance are so wide

When he was doing the first ki when he did the switching back stance move, it seemed a bit of.
if u slow the video down to 0.25x, you’ll see that he doesn’t finish the moves and his arms flops around when he blocks (look at that gedan barai)

cool
indeed :)
My Sensei would literally make me do sets of push ups to punish me If I would do a sloppy empi like this 😅
Some of the moves are missing in exchange for speed, great karateka btw as everyone has their own version of karate.
best the best

Mau pinter nuntutlah ilmu sampai ke negeri bambu !
If this was chung do kwan. They would laugh him out of the dojo 😆. His kata is weak
