Sylosis founder Josh Middleton comments "With everything happening in our world right now, we wanted to keep things moving in Sylosis' world. We started writing new music as we entered the first set of lockdowns and ‘Worship Decay’ quickly developed as a song we feel confident stands up by itself and showcases something different for Sylosis. We’re of course looking forward to playing music live again (hopefully soon!), but it feels great to be able to continue creating music and sharing it with our fans during this time of uncertainty and unrest."

That main riff is one of the best riffs I've heard all year, pure banger!
Sylosis have always had real fucking banger riffs, I'm so stoked for new music
I take it you didn't hear Ektomorf - And the dead will walk yet? Check it out , you're welcome
Now wheres the cover nik? U are 2 hours late now
Can't get enough of that riff
@@shamone805 I love Ektomorf! Someone on CZcams recommended them to me a few years ago. They're like the reincarnation Max era Sepultura.
Sylosis is so underrated its criminal. I love architects but I'd like to see more Sylosis, and Josh Middleton Project.
I like Architects too, but imo Sylosis... magnificient! :D
The JMP stuff is incredible. Have you heard his other band with Craig Reynolds called passages?
@@Vipt_cream nope. I'll check it, thank you! :D

I just imagine Josh having a massive filing cabinet that contains tens of thousands of riffs, and every day he opens a folder at random and goes "Ah yes, riff XJA - 436 -aa.5.b , I will make a banger with this one today" and thats how sylosis songs are born.
he does, in his brain
Reality, he tends to hum them in the shower and then plays and adds to them until they're this haha.
Lol he can't fail! The man shits magnificent guitars riffs everyday! 😂😂😂😂
Lmao 😆
@@MardyBum100291 I'm guessing you heard that from the masterclass video lol
What a great time to be a Sylosis fan.
It's been a good time since the beginning!
@@canadianmetalhead5788 I agree, it was always a great time to be a good fan of them, they're a good from the beggining.
When has it ever been a bad time?

I legit think these guys are top tier in metal literally
Always have been
Agreed
True statement.
I remember back when Jamie left the band and sylosis made a video of themselves discussing "what are we gonna do about vocals?" and Josh literally goes "I'll do it" and they cut to him doing vocals and CRUSHING it. Here we are years later and They've been churning out masterpiece after masterpiece.

could not imagine a better vocalists for this band
Josh's solos are the most tasteful in metal
No doubt! and by far!
Daniel of Phinehas though.
he is one of my favs but let's not forget about David Davidson
@@georgeavr9427 Amen. Brendan of The Black Dahlia Murder is a beast too!!!
dudes amazing but better than dimebag. I dont' think so, at least solo wise. Riffs are on par i'd say.
I don't understand how they aren't bigger. They rip the balls off 99 percent of their peers. Plus there is actual craft not just sloppy brutality. The riffs are catchy, no sell out, just groove, technicality and deliciousness
Agreed 100%. Maybe, because of this and their underlying thrash and doom routes make them less digestible to mainstream metal fans? They've been incredible within the UK scene for years now. Their conclusion of an age album combined thrash and metalcore elements I would say. Ever since Edge of the Earth, they've taken a brilliant increasingly heavier, and doomy direction. Just brilliant.
@Sam I think it would be cool if they were in mainstream (making THIS type of music. I don’t mean to be elitist when I say that though). I think that they should be huge. I get your argument, BUT at the same time I think that they really deserve to be like Lamb Of God level. Their music is amazing. Sure it feels cool to discover a band that isn’t so well known, but there are really big bands that sound great as well.
@Sam examples please!
I remember the first time I saw them live. Oregon 2012 they were on tour with LoG. I was completely blown away. Hadn’t heard anything so tightly played, was just in awe the whole time fucking solid band. Became an instant fan that night. I’m not gonna say I listen to them all the time, but when I do listen, I just binge the shit out of their music 🤘🏽
If you’re a fan of Sylosis which everyone should be because they’re amazing check out the album Gehenna gate by Lucis absentia, pretty much unheard of but man it’s so good, they have a very similar sound to Sylosis and the album is amazing and it makes me sad nobody has heard it. You’re correct tho Sylosis should be way bigger, they’re so good.
The interval choices in that solo though. Damn.
He always does the most tasteful and un-cliche stuff in his solos. Almost zero pentatonic blues-inspired wankery (which I do love, but it can get stale), and a sense of melody that is unrivaled in my opinion.
@@13guitard00d yep, he utilizes a lot of modes to achieve some intent
@@13guitard00d I'm a little late to your comment but one of Josh's main influences in solos and note/scale/mode choice is Chuck Schuldiner from the band Death. He's no longer with us but Josh is 100% keeping his legacy alive in his kickass solos on Sylosis stuff. Chuck was an amazing player and if you like Josh solos, you'd definitely like chucks!
These guys are a part of my life for about 13 years now. So much memories connected to your songs. Much love from germany!
Opening spotify and seeing the notification of a new Sylosis song.
It's just happiness
Thank you Josh, you rule.
It was the best thing that happened for me all week. Fuck it felt so good.

5 days later and I’m still listening. Haven’t been so addicted to a song in ages
JOSH LORD OF THE RIFFS HAS BLESSED US YET AGAIN
:o Josh Middleton strikes again with yet another masterpiece. Epic.
Edit: thank you for the likes :)
Sylosis can't do anything wrong. This is so massive, it's blocking traffic in my area!
Might be a controversial opinion, but Josh is the most talented member in Architects and one of the most talented in the entire scene. Being a frontman with all of that creative control is where he truly shines.
Sylosis > Architects
Fight me.
Who could fight you for saying a fact ?
Completely true
Why would we
He is the only first-class artist in Architects, not a mediocre guitarist
@@awrely You're tourist class in life
Architecs is good, but sylosis is better, and he can shine more in sylosis.
I've been so ready for this after all the teasers on social media this week, and I wasn't disappointed!
This is my first time ever hearing sylosis, I’m very very impressed
Listen to all thier albums
This band deserves to be so much bigger. That main riff is banger of the year material.
Another banger. I don’t think this band is capable of writing a bad song
Guitarist/singer Josh Middleton is incapable of writing bad music, he pretty much writes almost everything. One of the best metal musicians on the planet. Dude is a genius.
@@puppetmaster8551 Josh is also the lead guitarist for Architects 💯
@@puppetmaster8551 For sure. I think Josh and Dave from Revocation are the two best guitarists in modern metal rn. Dudes can write awesome songs and are technical as fuq. But my favorite has to be Joe from Gojira cuz they're my fav band =)
@@rikuclad1264 yeah. Don’t know how the man does it. He writes a lot of Architect’s riffs which are just as amazing as Sylosis. Man, this just shows how versatile the dude is
@@rikuclad1264 I dig both bands, but definitely like his work better in Sylosis. Wish he would pull off some solos in Architects.
Easily one of my favorite solos that I heard this year
2:50 I threw my morning coffee across the room imitating that knarly slide.
Can't wait to listen in the car
Seriously, if a Sylosis and Orbit Culture tour happened, the world would implode from awesome.
This!
Man agreed so much. So sick seeing someone else mention Orbit Culture, those guys are on another level!
Those tour would scare covid away
I would travel an entire country to see Sylosis and Orbit Culture !
Been a Sylosis fan since 2011 and have absolutely loved everything they've put out. I've recently discovered Orbit Culture on Soilwork radio and holy shit are they amazing. Been absolutely hooked for a few weeks now. When concerts are a reality again, Sylosis and OC will be at the top of my list. Two incredible bands in peak form. What's not to love?
I love Architects but Josh doing the Thrash thang with Sylosis is the shiznit.
Josh had been doing Sylosis long before he joined Architects.

My god how Sylosis is good. After this sensational album released this year now we have another masterpiece.
All riffs, all songs, all solos are pure magic! SYLOSIS FOREVER!!!!!

Thanks Sylosis for this pre-christmas gift !
The drummer is freaking phenomenal. Also, I don't get how Sylosis is so underrated. They're seriously one of the all-time best.
"They will vilify anything to keep it all to themselves" sums up how I feel about American politicians my entire life.

As I listen to this my room is shaking. And I'm using headphones!
I always push the like button on any Sylosis song, THEN i listen the song. This is the way
This is amazing! Always pumped to hear new Sylosis!!!
Why Sylosis are not one of the biggest bands around is baffling to me. They really deserve more spotlight than they're getting. Great band \m/
After checking out their discography a lil bit, i agree.
Something about this just makes me feel like they can never put out a bad song! Amazing work as always on this new track, lads!
Heaviest 440 band. Superb love.
How the fuck does this guy find the time to write for 2 bands at once, absolute legend!
And Josh is playing his new Signature guitar. Great song 🤘
This is my first time hearing this band and I'm now gonna be checking out more.
Prepare to be very busy finding all the greatness they have put out over the years
Sylosis have been the future of metal for a while now :D
Would love to hear the songs from cycle of suffering live at some point ...
I wish Josh only the best. He deserves it!
They are at another level of perfection
This video reminded me of Black Mirror.
What a great track !
I head banged so hard that I felt something snapped. Sylosis never disappoints🤘🏼
Finally! I've been searching for something that actually sounds good and isn't whiny metalcore.
this song is amazing
No metal band has this quality of greatness
This band should be the goat and im here just now 😢
I like that part with guitars, bass, drums, and vocals!!!
Especially that one part that's really heavy, and bad ass!!
SYLOS IS a type of forage made from green deciduous crops that has been preserved through acidification, achieved through fermentation. It can be fed to cattle, sheep and other similar ruminants (chewing gum). The process of fermentation and storage is called silage, ensiling, or ensiling, and is usually made from herbal crops, including corn, sorghum, or other grains, using an entire green plant (not just grain). Silage can be obtained from many field crops, and depending on the type, special terms can be used: oat flakes for oats, haylage for alfalfa (haylage can also refer to high dry matter silage made from hay).
Masterpiece!!!! New Sylosis has just made 2020!
New album soon? Oh, Yeah!!!!! We need the Sylosis impact forever. Don't Stop, guys!!!!!!
Sylosis top of the list for headbanging riff material.
One of the best songs to come out this year. Man This and Sever holy shit
Guys I'm with you! Make this music while you are young.
Best band in the game right now. Prove me wrong...
Ahhh i feel this awesome riffage flow though my veins! Goosebumps
Josh is so good.
Grande Sylosis, desde pequeño escuchandolos, saludos desde Chile metalheads
Gives me goose bumps everytime. EVERYTIME.
Damn How did i fall into heaven
Sounds like Ali brought some of his writing from Bleed From Within. I dig it. Sick drummer. And the rest of the guys can sure as hell write too
The kings are back...
I love the subtlety of the lead guitars in this.
Oooooh, those signature Sylosis chugs, pure banger!
Josh Middleton I Thank you
My favourite thing about Sylosis is their massive melodic sections. At 3:10 for instance. When the chords ring and the vocals just soar or like the outro of Idle Hands for instance... ambient, huge and mighty powerful. Those are the parts I listen to Sylosis for, absolutely mighty
okay everyone raves about how great of a guitarist Josh is but can we appreciate how he has the fucking _angriest_ most abrasive and downright terrifying vocals on this planet??
Every song sylosis had released this year is a banger.
Really cool song! Josh never disappoints with his riffs and the way that guitar tone cuts through is on another level \m/
I am 48 years old and love Sylosis and this might be the most underrated band ever. The riffs! Fuck!
Sylosis always bringing the god damn heat. Favourite band since Conclusion of an age!
