    I ordered one brand new in late 68 and the tail pipes are not correct. I noticed the window handles are sun damaged (which was common) All in all it is highly optioned Z, AM/FM , Power Steering, Rear Defroster , Console and Guage package, Door Edge Guards, Rose wood Steering wheel, optional Hood, Spoiler package. This is indeed a good car. I would love to drive it to sweeten the deal.

      John Geer Chevrolet was located in Northern California. As a California auto sold in CA, this Z28 should have the emission Air Injection system. It’s missing. Also this car should have Double Hump castings protrusion near the bottom of boss threaded casting on all ends of each heads. What I see is the double rectangle casting

    CA plated. Should have the smog pump and equipment to be accurate. After the manifold the exhaust system looks accurate out to the tail pipes. The tail pipes on refurbs are generally not accurate to the period so this one gets a plus for that accuracy. The commenter makes a fleeting comment about the exhaust system and chambered. It's not a chambered system at all though.

    Did he say that the DZ engine was rated at 103 - 100 horsepower ? The shifter hits the console in 2nd and 4th gear. The steering wheel is not straight. Basically items that should be corrected on $100,000 vehicle.

    The original, if ordered, was a rosewood steering wheel, not walnut.

    Door edge guards gotta go and fix the exhaust tips but killer car. I like when dealers put the cars on the lift so we can check out the underside..
    Very professional. I would've put true dual exhaust on it but that's me...idk if the Z28s came with true duals or single muffler with dual pipes...

      Seems as rear stripes came up short to the rear window. Easy fix I think.

      I believe that exhaust is the way it came from chevy. Its really nice. I had one years ago. 👌

      @bunk-bn9eo Před rokem +2

      It ran duals all the way back to a hollow resonator. It's a true dual exhaust. It was made to create its unique sound.

    That’s a beautiful car and beautiful paint job… it’s just sad people that are good painter’s don’t know how to paint the stripes on correctly… it happens almost 75 percent of the time.. … sad …

    • @bagrat22
      @bagrat22 Před rokem +1

      Man those stripes are so off.

  • @MrOnemanop
    @MrOnemanop Před rokem +1

    Clearly it was recently undercoated with some kind of paint. Zeibart was a flakey thick textured spray. Not to take away how solid the undercarriage (May) be, But for the price, I'd want some kind of screwdriver type tool to examine the details. That's a lot of coin for a car with obvious exceptions to original. ...I'm looking at you, hose clamps!

    My buddy bought a 68 Z28 new $2,700 -- 10 years later he missed it so he bought a used one for $10,000, and it needed work.

      @Darrell Somers well it means that more popular colors were available like for example Daytona Blue but still that color was popular on alot Chevy's at the time just not z-28s.

      Yes they were. I had one with it. Bought it new from Chevy dealership in Oxnard CA, Sept. 69. Check online the majority shown are P/steering equipped. And yes some were bought without it.

      Early model used a 7000 rpm tack, I have a real Z with the 7000 rpm. GM went with 8000 rpm tack later in the year. The 7000 rpm tacks where breaking, they needed 8000 rpm tacks.

    Rides like a tank, lots of rattles.😂 A 302 is a 327 with a 283 crank.
