    It's strange that I USED to have all of these features with my M32 but one day it all stopped. The all the keys still show me the feedback (Play lights up green when I hit play in Logic. And when I hit stop the red stop lights up and the green light goes out.) So I know it's connected properly - but I somehow disable everything that Acetlo described as making it unusable for him. (Although I do not know HOW I did so, after seeing this, I am glad it did!)

    You can actually remap them very easily just hold shift and click 'plugin midi' and you're in normal midi mode and you'll have a normal midi keyboard. You should have spend your time reading the manual instead of making a whining video.

      @acetlo  Před 3 lety +5

      Lmao of all the forum posts and replies from NI reps and this is what it took to get a straight answer. Now that's a good laugh. Unfortunately the keyboard doesn't keep those settings when you unplug it (which becomes a big issue when the product is marketed as a portable controller). I'll do a follow up video on how to fix that among other bugs I have debugged since then.

      @@acetlo When you're not using Komplete Kontrol, I do understand this might not be the best keyboard. Although I really like the size and the keybed it's pretty good.

    • @frankwalders
      @frankwalders Před 3 lety +2

      @@acetlo one more thought, it's actually pretty common that you have to push a button to enter the generic midi mode. I have had quite a few and many of them work that way.

      @@frankwalders I completely agree on the size and portability. It's a pretty solid keyboard. Just don't want people only hearing about the good stuff. Nothing is perfect

  • @sonidolope
    @sonidolope Před 3 lety +10

    The white bar under the tracks in the mixer tells you which 8 channels are being controlled by the knobs. You can click under the channels to move that bar and change which channels you're controlling with the knobs.

    • @acetlo
      @acetlo  Před 3 lety +3

      The knobs are sensitive and bound to stuff I would rather buy faders for and many people do just that. I naively bought the keyboard with the intentions of using the knobs to record modulation parameters and automation, and because that isn't a feature (it's not even marketed) they just get in the way. The purpose I want the knobs for and the features is supports do not overlap, so they are a hinderance. Now if the features were explicitly marketed are accurate, that would be a different story.

    I don’t understand why you wouldn’t be able to re-assign the knobs in Logic to the standard Smart Controls.

    • @acetlo
      @acetlo  Před rokem

      The knobs have functionality that isn't supported by standard midi signals is my best bet. If you touch them they send a signal (to the controller LCD letting you know what parameter you are adjusting), and they have unlimited degrees of rotation so determining where position 0 to position 127 is might be challenging. Also, there doesn't seem to be support for mapping the touch sensitivity feature of the knob so that may have something to do with it.

    Why would u get this and not the software ? its like the main point.

    • @acetlo
      @acetlo  Před rokem

      The m32 is a midi controller, the main point is to be a midi controller. Not everyone uses Native Instruments products for their software exclusively nor should they.

    • @acetlo
      @acetlo  Před 2 lety +3

      Alesis Vmini or my 88key Samick SGP-101P from the 90s (the second one I found next to a freeway in half and repaired it; video eventually on that). The M32 is still a good product but I didn't see anyone talk about the downsides only the good stuff. When I look to buy things I look for its worst attributes and if they are worth putting up with I usually buy the product. Everyone has their own list of reasons to buy a product and I wanted a keyboard that was small, had 8 remappable knobs, and no pads. The M32 does so many things that are awesome but I was let down by the functionality.
