Heyup DD, no matter how frail Freddie was, he still rocked it.
What Queen did in the early days was outstanding , what they produced when Freddie was so seriously ill defies comprehension . He was and always will be ' THE GREATEST SHOWMAN ' There will be another like him .
There's a phrase in that song that me and my nephew do as a personal way to communicate i say whoop didi didi and he answers whoop didi doo and it's great it makes me feel we have Queen in common

What I love about Queen is that none of their songs sound alike.
It's a testimony of a great band that can write songs with such a vast variety of genres.
Phenomenal band.
The video was filmed in November/December 1990 (the yellow jumper was Dec 1990/blue shirt was Nov) as it was the first single relased in the US not filmed when the single was released in the UK in May 1991 as many people get mixed up with. As there a few studio bits with Freddie "I'm Kim Basinger etc and the promos were recorded for the album Nov/Dec 1990 as teasers etc
Fun fact, the bit where they are lying on the shelves was filmed in the old Queen fan club office.

There is part of the video where they are laying on a bunk bed thing and Freddie’s eyes are closed. It’s kinda creepy knowing how frail he was in his last few months.
Brian’s vocal version of this song is on the deluxe version of innuendo, the game is great you can choose costumes and styles and tap along to the rhythms.

I am new to your channel. There are certain Queen songs I listen to over and over in the context of watching reactions. Your reactions are a pleasure to watch.
Toward the end, Freddie did a collaboration with opera singer Montserrat Caballe. Title song was Barcelona, written with the intent to sing at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics. Anyway, google the background. Watch Barcelona, then watch How Can I go On.
This song makes me happy too DD absolutely, and while it’s not my favourite either, I still love it. Queen have so many great songs it’s difficult for me to even say which is my favourite although the live version at Hammersmith of White Queen is my favourite live song. Freddie was so ill he had to wear those windcheaters and loose shirts with lots of padding underneath to disguise how much weight he had lost. But he still had such enthusiasm and zest for life, he didn’t let his illness slow him down. He should be the yardstick we all live our lives by. Another fun song you will enjoy by a bearded Freddie is Breakthru. It will get your feet tapping for sure
But I can‘t recommend Breakthrough while driving your car: you‘ll ended up driving much, too fast! Way too fast✌️😄

This song should have been on News of the World; it has that kind of energetic vibe. The part that sticks out most for me is the group background vocal, because it sounds like it was recorded live on one microphone with everybody standing around it. :)
This song was originally slated for Brian's solo album "Back To The Light" (which would eventually be released in 1992), but Freddie listened to the demo track and said he wanted to record it as a Queen song. Lucky us!!

Fun fact, the video for headlong was actually recorded in 1990, there’s a fan note Freddie wrote in 1990 saying that (with my best memory) “we’ve just finished recording a new song titled Headlong, which shows the band back in full swing” or something like that

There's a Rolling Stone piece in 2016 marking the 25th anniversary of Queens' final album with the original line up - about the making of Innuendo. It notes, “Headlong originated from sessions for a scrapped Brian May solo album before he gave Mercury a go at the lead vocals and recognized how perfectly it worked as a Queen song." So how can you not wonder that Brian saw that it took on a whole new dimension with Freddie singing it. Maybe he saw a bigger purpose. If you remove Brian out of the equation and whatever personal (divorce, tabloids?) inspired it, could it be with Freddie singing it he has a chance to scream it to the world (how he feels) with out admitting any such thing. There's no pity, just upbeat pursuit to get out of it. In an album called "Innuendo," maybe it just served that purpose very well. (P.S. We come for Queen talk too. Trailor is fun! YEEEESSSSS react here!

You're funny. Reacting so long to so many Queen songs and still surprised, when expectations are not fullfilled. Listening to Queen means expect the unexpetcted. That' s one of the reasons why I' m a Queen fan for more than 20 years. Especially the album Innuendo has various kinds of music should neccessarily heard complete earlier or later, because there are so many different and brillant songs on it. By the way, I really like your reactions. Especially asking google before reacting to the song is a good idea. Just go on like this.

Love your channel intro!! Brian May said that Queen got closer in the last years with Freddie cuz they were focusing on the music and all credits of the song were split between the four members! @@DoeDarling @Doe Darling Do yourself a favour and skip the second wembley show its average at best listen to the 11th July it was filmed as a test for the 2nd but Freddie is better voice on the first night. Better still check the booteg recordings for the Leiden shows, Frejus, Cologne and Knebworth (not to react to as its audio only but for your own benefit) all superior to the overrated 2nd Wembley show I accept its one of only 3 recorded shows from the tour but it gets so much hype. Check out Ryan Newton's channel for bootegs from so many Queen tours

I think Queen were unlucky not to get more number ones due to the artist being number one at the time. They were second fiddle to some massive hits that just happened to chart the same time as them. Seems to be a case of bad coincidences.
I'm surprised that a Queen fan doesn't know any iconic songs of the band, like this one or innuendo. it makes me strange.
