Dunno where to suggest these, but could you react to The Warning? I think you'd be impressed. Start with "Choke."
Would you be insulted if I told you that my kids and I have concluded that YOU could be a Disney princess? Huge eyes - check. Wears her heart on her sleeve - check. Appears to be kind and full of joy - double check. 🌼🌺🌸✨💕
This just made my week! I would LOVE to be a Disney princess!!!
@@TheCharismaticVoice this is very late, but I can definitely see it too
she's even got a little button nose similar to how they drew them in 80s and 90s disney princesses.
Yes!
And she can sing thats a must
That transition into Know Who You Are gives me a pleasant little shiver, every time. Geoff dropping into that G1, Layne singing, Rachel's precision in her delivery... it's a pure moment.
I feel like you would absolutely LOVE their “Phantom of the Opera” cover! Definitely recommend putting that on the list 😊
OH YES PLEASE!!!
I LOVE THAT ONE
While talking about phantom of the opera, you have to listen to dan vasc cover
I came to the comment section to say the same thing
Just watched. Wow. Awesome!
"They have a coconut!" Best coconut observation based reaction ever! :D Hahaha
I mean, I try! ;-)
@@TheCharismaticVoice Do. Or do not. There is no try ;) hehehe
@@theboyfaz Somebody seems to be a Master Oogway fan. Which I totally get.
But do they have a swallow…? How did it get there?
@@PhilBoswell African or European?
Don't mind me, I'm just waiting for her to get to the part where Geoff turns into the bassmonster once more (After his 'solo')
For some songs, like the Oogie boogie song, they record Geoff’s voice more than once so he can have the lead and the bass at once
In this song eli does the bass when geoff sings, no extra voice from geoff
@@johngeo5816 i don't think they do that in studio
No. Eli was the one doing the basslines
This was done during the time when Tony (the baritone) had left the group and they were searching for a replacement, eventually hiring J. None for the slot. Rachel has done guest spots both in the 5th spot and with the full group. Earl recently left the group and she filled in the 5th spot in their Little Mermaid medley, which is stellar.
I hope others understand and identify, but when I watch you react it makes me happy like that same kid in the candy store reacting to you and them and getting the same feelings and emotions of joy with them, and noticing the little things as well. I just feel nothing but happy watching this medley.
You all get an unfiltered peek into how I truly get giddy with new music. I absolutely LOVE this!
Ì love that Medley. been trying to sing Geoff's Urzula part all week haha
One of the things people who react to this video miss is the syncopation during “You’re Welcome” between Eli and Rachel. It’s soo good.
Right?!?!
@@TheCharismaticVoice You went back and watched it again, didn’t you?
Maybeeeeeeeee?
@@TheCharismaticVoice don't blame you. It's great
I guess they list Layne as Hei Hei exactly because the character has no lines. Since he's the beatboxer he doesn't get to sing lyrics. Maybe it's a double play to have him as hei hei?
He's also a bit chicken like.
@Alexandria Hauser Well I feel pretty stupid right now because I have no idea what pun you are referring to.
He says plenty! Such as: "buh...CAHW!"
"Since they have Rachel here they have a little more room to stack" Oh you haven't heard Earl hit his really high notes yet...
Dude he can get sooo high
Yeah. Check out their cover of the Johnny Cash song Daddy Sang Bass. And, be ready with the tissues at the end.
Rachel Potter was a Nashville Country singer who tried to revive her career on AGT. Now she does a lot of stuff with VoicePlay (maybe she will become a permanent member) since they lost one of their members.
Love your excitement and enthusiasm with your reactions. And the knowledge that goes along. Anybody can react but not everybody understands the techniques behind the performance. Great job. I really love the group and enjoy Rachel’s visits. She does a beautiful version of how far with her group voctave.
Thank you, Trix.
Rachel is not in Voctave. Voctave DO make a beautiful version of ”How far I go” but the lead singer in their version is Ashley Espinoza.
What gets me is Geoff's ability to channel Jemaine during his solo. (Loved Flight of the Concords btw)
"reminds me of hiccup" I can't unhear that now!!
You do look like a Disney princess!! Hahaha. So true!
That viewer and their family were right on the money! You go girl!
Whistle whistle!
Rachel was an X factor contestant. I remember her audition as having great control and effortless projection, like a musical theater singer.
As an aside, you can mail a coconut through the USPS by putting a stamp on it and to/from. No box, a bare coconut.
I will be trying this.
Fun fact: Eli is pronounced like Ellie!
is he jewish?
@@Eyal_Cohen I'm not sure. What I do know is that his full first name is Eliezer, but he goes by Eli.
Ok lol its a really jewish name...cool...the meaning of his full name is 'the god help me'
I’m looking forward to this
If your checking their Moana medley you have to check out their little mermaid medley it also features Racheal
This is a very good medley; Rachel also has a mash-up with Voctave with "Poor Unfortunate Souls" and "I've Put A Spell On You" from Hocus Pocus. She sounds as lovely and clear on that one as she does here with VoicePlay.
I've listened to this song SO VERY MANY times and I've never once heard the slide Geoff does at 22:53 before, and WOW I love it.
The BASS-Sound from the Guy, front right, his Voice, Fantastic, im a bit jealouse...
The eyebrows are strong with this one.
I just started the vid. What's the grunt factor?
One is much more practiced than the other. Beware!
@@TheCharismaticVoice I fear neither, dear Elizabeth.
I was referring to my awkward eyebrows. ;-)
@@TheCharismaticVoice I understand now. Look up "Emilia Clarke eyebrows" on the YT if you have a moment.
Their cover of SIA’s Chandelier is probably Rachel’s best collab with them. But she herself is actually a solid stage singer, you can look up her live theater clips and she’s... whew... really really strong vocally
Your joyful reactions to all the songs is simply wonderful. Out of the "vocal coaches" that I've seen, only three (of which you are one) seem to both truly enjoy the music and break down the style and technical aspects in a knowledgeable fashion.
For more VoicePlay and Rachael Potter, definitely do "The Little Mermaid Medley" and "The Phantom of the Opera". Both are great. For some more Christmas suggestions, HomeFree's "Do you hear what I hear" and Voctave's "Oh come all ye faithful". And for something just stunning HomeFree's "How Great Thou Art" and Voctaves "The Great Movie Medley".
"The Phantom of the Opera" is probably my favorite with Rachel Potter.
Nice suggestions Mieknara! We'll have them logged and I hope to react on each one.
great reaction & analysis !
next time we visit voice play , how about Phantom of the opera? also featuring the wonderful Rachel.
Highly recommended.
I can't tell you how much i've been listening to this and the little murmaid medley and I am STILL finding more and more things each time. It's NUTS! Love your full on analysis as usual, so full of excitement and info!
Their Frozen 2 medley is also really great.
If you liked this one, you really should react to their “Phantom of the Opera” and the “Oogie Boogie song” you won’t be disappointed!
She already has reacted to the Oogie Boogie Man, a while ago.
Yeah realized that after I hit send, it was that reaction that made me start following her
@@scottpeach987 For me, it was Sixteen Tons. I love watching her facial expressions. Especially, when she hears something she didn't expect, like the water drop sound Layne made.
Your reactions were so adorable and I agree that you would make an amazing Disney princess
Rachel Potter auditioned for the x factor US she sang a country version of Queen's somebody to love...she slew it
It is indeed Eli on that bass part. He's a baritone that is usually singing low tenor. And that "in post" part was most likely Layne. He's kinda crazy like that.
Most of the songs are recorded, in a lot of them they have Geoff's voice recorded in the background, like when in the Oogie Boogie Song, when Geoff isn't singing, he's doing the background bass. Also, when they don't have recordings, and its live, Eli doesn't do it.
My bad, I listened back a few times, it's not as deep as it was originally portrayed, it's baritone range.
@@menamesskit3336 yes, but Eli can sing bass
Those strange noises you thought were "post" were all Layne. The light was low and the type of noises he was making don't require much facial movement, but you could see it ever so slightly on his face that it was him doing it.
You should also check out Voiceplay with Rachel Potter doing "The Phantom of the Opera". She is mind blowing amazing in that song. Another awesome medley from Voiceplay is their Queen medley. That video is epic.
You are one great teacher , you pick up on all those sounds and change ups . I got goose bumps while listening to them sing .
We call them "goosies" now.
@@TheCharismaticVoice Nice :-)
@@TheCharismaticVoiceI've been calling them goosies ever since I heard J-Lo call them that on TV. 😂❤
As it's getting near the festive season and considering you enjoyed this so much, have a listen to "O Holy Night", which Voiceplay did with Rachel. Even if you don't do a reaction video, just listen to it. Knowing how much you love acapella ensemble music in general, I guarantee it will have you geeking out big time. Earl does an octave jump on the "Noel" just after the 3:04 mark, the harmonies, oh my Lord! It's a sublime piece of music and Rachel is AMAZING.
There's few songs/medleys that can give me a consistent physical reaction every time I hear it but this song puts my hair on end and gives me whole body goosebumps every single time I hear it.
Might i suggest Voice Play /w Rachel singing Phantom of the Opera
I remember being new in singing, first time I got into mixed chorus the teacher decided to try my range and I had no idea what he meant so at the top I tried a falsetto (didn't know what that was called either 😅) but he had me doing it higher and lower, then put me in swing choir to back up the girls soprano. He said I could hide behind someone but I didn't care, ended up using the falsetto in the musical we did. Then he added me to Acapella and I was learning so many songs, Barber Shop quartet and more. So much fun
You love it nd hate it when it gets paused at the best moments!! XD
I am looking forward to it! Thank you in advance for the reaction!
Hope you enjoy it!
rachel has been a contestant on BGT she really good
I first saw Rachel Potter a few years ago on one of the talent show, she was very good then. Nice to see she's doing well.
I literally got a Zaxby's ad RIGHT AFTER they introduced Lane as Hei Hei 🤣😂🤣😂
Please please please react to the blackbird cover from Geoff. You really can here his range in that one. Greetings from the Netherlands
Listening to your reactions for a complete musical idiot like me is like listening to TED Talks. I know nothing about what you're talking about, but I hear your passion, your knowledge and your genuine appreciation of the art. I've been a big fan of acapella groups for a few years, but I couldn't sing myself to save my own life. I can't distinguish different notes from each other. If anything, I'd be a drummer or a part of the rhythmic section. Hearing their talent (Home Free, Pentatonix, Voiceplay and many other) is like looking at the dream house you wish you had. And hearing an in-depth analysis with tidbits of highly scientific parts now and then (much about the human anatomy) is just golden news for my knowledge-hungry ears. Keep it up! You rock, Elizabeth!
Stay tuned then. I have something coming out soon that you might be interested in ;-)
I'm keeping an eye out for something that might interest me :)
As for future recommendations, I can concur with many others about Voiceplay's Little Mermaid medley. It has a lot of similarities with this video and song (Layne arrangement, Layne video, feat. Rachel Potter etc.), but I'd be interested in how you'd react when they've changed Earl (tenor) to J None (baritone?) and how that has affected the overall sound and how the different singers adapt to the change in group composition.
I'd also like to know if your newly found knowledge about how the tracks are built/arranged/produced/layered/edited (from the Layne interview) affects how you react to the video and it's many different elements. I'd simply like to see the Little Mermaid medley as a comparison to this video and how the small changes affect your perception of the sound.
This may be covered in your video with Layne, but I suspect his portion was imitating Lin Manuel Miranda. Lin sings this section in the alternate version of You're Welcome that plays during the end credits of Moana.
Regardless, I love the Hiccup reference. Showing your nerd cred lately with this and the forest nymph comparison in the Aurora video, lol. Keep being awesome!
Omg seriously Kirk, why you gotta do Elizabeth like this? Not gonna lie though, this thumbnail gives me joy and builds the hype for the reaction 😆
Yay! Kirk actually helped me choose this thumbnail. I make too many faces to choose from. :-D
Loved this video, would definitely recommend watching VoicePlay's Phantom of the Opera - another outstanding Rachel collaboration
Love Voiceplay's Don't stop believing featuring Earl.
I’m so excited for this reaction!
I hear two funny little sounds at 14:29 , I wonder what they are :) Also, love seeing your take on this performance - it's one of my favorites. Looking forward to the followup video!!
My giggle? I didn't hear anything but me talking at 14:29...
@@TheCharismaticVoice There are two tiny sounds that sound almost like someone saying "Yip", the first (more difficult to hear) happens during you saying 'really', and the second (more audible) happens just before you say 'youthful'. Definitely nothing distracting, I just happened to notice the second one while watching and caught the first one when looking for the timestamp :)
Awesome review Elizabeth! I always appreciate your technical points. Please do their little mermaid medley now!
It is coming, but most likely early next year Alan!
@@TheCharismaticVoice Channeling my best Tom Petty voice...ahem “The waiting is the hardest part...”. Lol 😂 thanks!
I'd like to request In this moment - The fighter. There's so much emotion in Maria Brinks voice
Please sign a petition so that Elizabeth adopts me 🥺🥺🥺
Why the heck do I love watching you react? I REALLY want you to do "Carry On Wayward Son" by VoicePlay!
Should I do that, or the original? I'm not familiar with the song.
@@TheCharismaticVoice You're not familiar with the song?!? It's a classic by Kansas (which was also used as the theme song for the recently-ended show Supernatural that ran for fifteen years). You should probably be sure to listen to the original first...
You were a lot of fun to watch in this video. Great reactions. =^.^=
I absolutely love the songs with Rachel. (Phantom of the Opera, Kidnap the Sanday Claus, Little Mermaid Medley)
Maui: You’re Welcome!
Hei Hei: BA KOCK?!
The fact the "Your Welcome" is THE ROCK makes it so much better.
Had no idea about that connection of the vagus nerve, I had always thought of it in context to the heart, lungs, and digestive tract, so very cool thank you.
I think you might like Chris Stapleton’s Tennessee whiskey. The song vocally and musically is amazing
Love your reactions so much! They always seem to mirror my own. Such a great song and arrangement. I've been loving your reactions to Voiceplay and Homefree. I would love to see some more to Voctave as well. Their new album, and especially their Christmas music as we are going into the season!
Great suggestion! I am looking for some Christmas music, so I'll check it out!
@@TheCharismaticVoice They have many excellent Christmas songs, but I would definitely say O Come, All Ye Faithful is not to be missed!
Yes, more Voctave please!
Elizabeth, great video. And just a super random compliment--your hair is on point.
How fun is this - and how good! Love Rachel Potter as well.
HI from Brooklyn,NY; Rachael Potter audition on the USA X-Factor was Queen's To Love Someone to a standing O.in 2013.
I had to rewind many times all those laughters of yours because they made my day. I suggested this song a while ago because I knew you'd enjoy this. I wasn't wrong. ;) Now, I'm off to watch our interview. Have a great weekend because it's already starting here in Finland (it's 9:10pm and it's been dark for hours already)!
Thank you, Mika! I'm glad I could have finally gotten around to it for you (as well as infect you with my laughter!)
You are just lovely.
Whoever does her youtube thumbs has really good understanding of design and emotions.
I’d love to hear/see you watch Geoff’s solo cover of Blackbird. It’s great- his range is so impressive!
Please react to ACA Top 10 - Disney Villains!! Great transitions too
Enjoyed it very much!! Recommending their take on "Kidnap the Sandy Claws" for your Christmas theme! 😄
I absolutely love watching your reactions! You are so honest and excited. I'll be joining patreon soon!👑🙌🏽❤️
We would be overjoyed to have you, Nate! The Discord channel is amazing, and the community that's grown is just... spectacular!
Great content! Would love to see a reaction on Husavik with Molly Sandén 👍👍
Loved it! This medley is so good. But they have also done a “The Little Mermaid” medley and thats just insane!
Please check that out aswell!
"Pass the coconut!"
I think this is the only song that has gotten you to bop and nod along (towards the end of the video). You *really* enjoyed this!
Your reactions are one of my best!
And the smile and laughter you add to it is just... Wow!
I would recommend Voiceplay's Can't help falling in love, Geoff's notes vibrate through my soul and make me cry! And also their Disney on Broadway Medley for my crazy sounds from Layne!
Your reactions are THE BEST!
Another one I'm obsessed with is the disney princess medley by voctave.. acapella and omg their voices are so flawless!
I really like Rachel as a brunette she looks really good, shows her face off very well. Beautiful woman.
I think this is your best thumbnail so far lol
I just knew you were going to love this one.. Thanks so much for reacting to this one.
At 4:37, you just said "all y'all" that's definitely a southern term and it was so cute.
Wow, Rachel Potter is contestant (11-th) of Xfactor USA, her аudition with country-version "Somebody to Love" was absoluely stunning.
She sounds like a Disney princess. It’s so beautiful
I recommend reacting to "Thinkin Bout You" another song by voiceplay . It really shows J None's range.
I still contend that if VoicePlay had Rachel as their female member when they competed against Home Free (winners) on the Season 4 NBC-TV show - The Sing-Off in 2012, it would have come down to 2 groups - Home Free vs. VoicePlay.
I love how giddy, happy, and pure your reaction is.
One of my favorites! Looking forward to this one!
YES I've been waiting for this one!! Awesome :)))
Rachel comes off as Disney because here background is in theater. she has done multiple Disney shows on Broadway.
Just for your own enjoyment (and something a little different) you might look up the music of the award-winning South Pacific fusion group TE VAKA, whose music is used in the Disney film. Te Vaka is wonderful to see in concert, and the audience is always filled with folks from that beautiful part of the planet (I lived for a short while in Tahiti.)
Layne is definitely a master of his craft and I think we've got years yet of enjoying it.
POTTER had the best audition to Idol, amazing to see and hear her again, in the EU she is not shown or listen to, she didn't break through here😪
its another mind blowing reaction from the voiceplay..with rachel potter keep safe everyone😘
You questioned whether Eli was singing the bass part when Geoff is featured on the solo. Probably not. Quite often with contemporary a cappella groups, the lower bass part is recorded as a separate track by the bass singer, and then he can sing a featured part. Even in live performances, a good sound man and a click track help to make this sync up. I've noticed this with groups like the Nylons, the Blenders and Home Free. If you watch Eli's lips, it looks like he is singing a harmony part with Rachael & Earl.
Geoff is often double tracked in the covers
So excited to see more Voiceplay on here! I love how everything is analyzed. It really makes me appreciate it that much more. Please do their Queen in 5 Minutes and Geoff's The Headless Horseman from his channel!
that was awesome. Worth the length of the video. I love their voices!
I kind of hope you react to Peter Hollens cover of I See Fire.
Your reaction and analyses are superb.
one of my fav video from back in the day. So catchy. Love this!
