  • DAY 84 of 100 DAYS of TAI CHI. Take a 10 minute break with me, and I will lead you in a Tai Chi meditation in motion. We'll stand together on a beach in Africa, under the sun with our toes in the warm sand. Today's guided meditation is a sample of one of new series on 10 Minute Tai Chi videos coming soon to this channel. It's Day 84 of 100 Days of Tai Chi, and in this Learn Tai Chi at Home lesson you'll join me in one of my favorite ways to meditate - in motion!

    This one really takes you into the Ocean of Chi Love. So peace and health inducing, stress cleansing. Love the music. Big thanks, DDR.

    I love this! Poetic and inspiring. I wake up a bit stiff in the morning and this would be a perfect way to start the day. Awesome, well done!

    With the new year I feel so fortunate to have seen this series by David-Dorian Ross. The first video I watched was the Teaching Tai Chi with No Forms. And now this 10 minute series of moves. I plan to incorporate both into my teaching of students new to Tai Chi. I agree that so many times we start out a Beginner's Tai Chi class with 20 to 30 very interested participants, but then lose many of those same people due to unexpected illnesses, time constraints and lack of commitment. So this year I had already planned to change the format of my beginner classes to incorporate Qigong exercises and then Tai Chi movements similar to this 10 minute set. This type of format allows people to drop in or stay longterm depending on what is happening in their lives.
    Thank you for making my decision easier. I plan to go back now and look at your other videos.

    Thanks for making this look well easy, I like what you have done. I feel it will help me re connect with routine. I used to do Tai Chi Qigone in college. but that was many years back. You know you can really get caught up in form and what it should look like. But I feel one must relax and let go and form finds it self in this process. =)

    That was beautiful DDR. It is really fun and interesting seeing the videos in the order I am. I having been watching your 10 minute videos almost at the same time I starting watching the 110 days series and now I get to see the first one. On another note I am keeping my fingers crossed and hope to hear something from my corporate office next week about the potential project. Enjoy your trip!

      She's getting almost old enough to have more guest appearances. She wants to have her own CZcams channel, so I told her she had to apprentice with me first. Let's arrange a video conference call to talk about our collaboration. I'm super excited by the idea! Are you available this Saturday?

      @peterpaulparker Před 6 lety

      Yes I can do 8 am in the morning your time if that is ok. That should be about 4 pm afternoon for me. Otherwise it will have to be another day. It will happen when it is meant to. :)

    What will 5 a.m. coffee be without watching the newly uploaded video, or catching up on one I may have miss . Instead of turning to see what was posted on social media... UGH.. but there is always Flow.. if I could remember . Very relaxing video this morning.. Thank you.

      Kat - what a great image I just got of you settling in with morning coffee to watch the Tai Chi video of the day. Actually one of my goals AOHD (After One Hundred Days) is to have the new videos come out every day at 6am Eastern. I hope it will give a lot of people a jump start to the day. Well, that's my thought anyway! LOL

    Great session! A thought: every day you tell us that Tai Chi can be used for self defense. How does that work? Does my mindset need to change? How do things like parry and punch in slow-mo work to defend yourself? Or do you just bounce someone off your chi???

    i will try again--are there any flow movements based on sun style tai chi?

    • @DavidDorianRoss
      @DavidDorianRoss  Před 6 lety

      Hey Larry, actually yes. I've used (and continue to add in) movements from all styles of Tai Chi in the Flow repertoire. A couple of years ago I introduced a combination using Sun style single whip. But you've reminded me that I haven't put it into any recent choreography. I'll have to make a point of it - there are some really cool moves in Sun style!
