I still fondly remember how in 1989/1990, together with other UN officials, Bangladeshi peacekeepers came to my country, Namibia, to ensure peace and free and fair elections for everyone, which led to our Independence in March 1990. The Bangladeshis we got to know personally, and some were guests at our home, were kind and friendly people.
