This video is about spur pruning of three years old mini vineyard. In this video Dr. Green have explained spur pruning in grapes in a very simple language. 3 years old grapevine has been spur pruned.
Let Dr. Green explain you slightly about spur pruning of grapevines. First don't leave any cane/branch on the trunk. Then you have 4 cordons/arms that are promoted from the trunk. Then from 4 cordons or arms further canes emerge. Keep in mind, we have to prune only the canes that are coming out from these 4 cordons or arms. Leave 2 to 4 buds on each cane and remove the rest of the cane. I mostly leave 2 buds on each cane.
Don't do spur pruning in all of your grape varieties. Most of grape varieties are responsive to spur pruning while some give you high yield on cane pruning.
