This is one of the best pruning videos I have watched. Demonstrating both types of pruning. Well done. I am a hobby vintner growing on a chain link fence with a trellis on top. It was nice to see how to keep them directed in the center. Will watch again in Feb when I get out and pruned my lovely table grapes. Pruning is the key to good production… even for a hobby grower.

I thought the same thing. Viticulture is alive and well! Old vines being ripped out for new ones and the cycle goes on!

Wow impressive camera work . Many institutional video the camera person frames the narrator at a distance that obligates the intent of an instructional video . To see the subject being narrated . Here the camera person get very close and moves slightly so the viewfinder captures the actual revelation of the buds and then the cut above the second node. Great job guys
Oh the demonstration wss done in a overcast sky eliminating low sun flare out and shadow cast. Retaining vibrant colors in the view

I'm going to try to do this way.

This is what happiness looks like. I grew up on countryside and I always loved nature and animals more than anything else but never had land or anything just a small garden to do experiments. This year I got some canes and I forced rooted them in the water, I planted like half of them in pots and waiting May to get them in the soil, gonna plan having them like this around the fence of my garden.

hello micheal! pruning is an art, , personally on old wood I would opt to leave a larger portion of wood, especially when you make cuts on wood for more years, it creates an important desiccation cone, which could be lethal!

man the plants are good but i think you should review some things: don't cut near close the buds, it will cause problems to them that's why you have to leave some "wood of respect" as a distance and prune the vineyard when the weather is dry and not wet like that

For a smaller yard. Why can't I just trim all branches back to the main trunk. So there are no lateral branches. For table grapes.

I live in tropical country, but in 1100 maters above the sea,
Is that possible to grow grapes? I started interesting to grape tree 2 months ago, i brought 40 cm long grape tree, its 150 cm now, but the leaves turn weird, they curling, idk, is that because of low temperatur, virus, synthetic grower overdoze, or else, i never gave my grape pesticide before, i just gave them npk 16-16-16, sometimes vit b1, i also gave them fungicide (because in my country now is rainy season, cover top but sometimes rain drops jump over), and once, i have remaining giberelin acid -+ 50ml 10ppm, I just spill them in the pot,
What is the safest way to help my grape? It look so ugly, not stagnant, good condition shoot, but leaves look so weird,
Im sorry my English is bad, im not active speaker

Not everything. The 2 fruiting canes that you leave for the coming season have to be left. He shortened them a little..."10 to 12 buds" as he said....but didn't lop them off. If you remove "everything above T" then you have no fruit to harvest in the Fall.

@@birdhouse7230 sorry, but I don't speak english. So I give you my idea in italian.
