Bath Filling - 8 Hours - For ASMR / Relaxation / Sleep Sounds

  • I decided to make a longer version of one of my most popular bath filling recordings. This video has the same sound as Mic Position 4 (recorded with the mics just 6 inches away from the running water) but this time it's 8 hours long and you have the added bonus of the video footage instead of just a still image! Again, like all my bath filling videos, this was made by looping a short clip hundreds of times to create a much longer version!
All video footage and sound files used to create this video have been recorded by me. I never use any content belonging to others to create my videos!

Whenever a bath was run I'd lay down a towel next to the tub, fold another towel as a pillow, then lay down and cover myself with a third towel, pretend I was in a cave, all safe and sound, press my ear up against the bath, while blocking my other ear off, and feel the sound of the running water reverberate through my body, sometimes peak through the small patch of light near my feet, like the entrance to a cave far away, sometimes rest my arm out on the cold tiles on the floor or the side of the bath, I await the one who has done the same...

My bedroom as a kid was opposite the bathroom door on the landing. Whenever someone took a bath I would go and lay down on the landing carpet outside the door and feel the warmth of the pipes through the floor as I lay there. Listening to the sound of the bath filling and wishing the sound to never end. Chills on my body but the warmth from the carpet heated by the water pipes. I never forget those times and it still stay with me today.

I love reading all the details from others bathtub journeys. It’s particularly interesting that so many of us liked being wrapped in a towel. It’s almost like being swaddled as a baby. Or sometimes I might put a robe or light blanket over my body. I usually curled up in a fetal position to feel even more cozy and warm. Many times I sleep in bed this way as well. Feels so safe. I felt so good snuggled up next to the tub listening only to the sound of water coming out and hitting the tub. There was a special echoing sound this way. It may even be similar sound to those who listened on the other side of a wall when a family member took a bath. It was as if I was in my own world feeling safe and at peace with everything. Every so often, water drops would hit my skin and give me goosebumps and tingles. I was never so happy. And, wondering if anyone ever reached out their hand to touch the cool tile floor to experience that sensation. This added another layer of feeling something to the experience. Sort of a contrast between the warm and cool. Also, I liked to reach in the tub sometimes and feel the warm water against my skin. I did that because I love the feel of water almost as much as the sound.
Then sometimes I would get in the tub at the end and feel the warm water envelop my body, giving me more goosebumps. Most of all I didn’t want the sound to end. I’m so grateful we have ASMR video recordings now so we can go to sleep experiencing the watery wonders of our childhood.
All of your stories bring me much happiness and tingles. Thank you for sharing and for being one of the water babies in this great community. Would others consider sharing one of your bath stories? Even if it’s very similar it would be nice to hear your version. Be well. 😊

    @BathtubLovingGuy Před 6 měsíci +24

I have the most wonderful memories of a childhood finding a safe place and bliss laying next to the bathtub. In the evening I would eagerly make my way to the bathroom, close and lock the door. Just imagining what I was about to do in and of itself gave me such joy. I would turn the water on to set the mood and then get my bath towels out and start preparing my nest. It was a ritual for me. I didn’t imagine anything other than creating a soft place to land. Once I had everything ready, I turned the water down low so I could savor the sound as long as possible. As the trickling, splashing sounds began, I crawled on to my safe place and covered myself with the soft warm towel as my head fell on the pillow. I was as close to the tub as I could get. The tub was like a best friend who would hug and comfort me and never judge me for being so weird in what I was doing. I say “weird” with humor and self-respect. Immediately I felt the tingles as I focused in on the sound of the water. I had the biggest smile on my face. My place. All mine. Safe. No worries or cares. Then, after a while as the water rose, I’d start feeling the occasional little splashes or drops come over the tub and hit my face or exposed arm. More tingles. I’d think how lucky am I that I get to experience this. No one can take this from me. Sometimes I would drift off for a bit. If not, I was at least in a good meditative state. After the tub was getting full, sometimes I would reach over the side and run my hand through the warm water or slowly slide into the water feeling the luxurious warmth surround my body. Tingles. I would then scoot up close to the faucet, knees to chest and put my hands under the running water. Watch and feel it run over my hands thinking there is no better feeling in the world. More tingles. I never wanted to leave. I didn’t want to give up this sacred space. But, I always knew it would be waiting for me when I needed it and that gave me great satisfaction. I would eventually climb out, dry myself off with the soft towels and go climb into bed immediately luxuriating in the warmth and softness of the sheets and blanket. My fears and worries were set aside for a little while so I could sleep. Closing my eyes, I had wonderful thoughts of my next visit to the bathtub.

When I was younger I would lay on the bathmat next to the bath, wrap myself in a towel, feeling the resonant sounds through the sides of the bath as well as the running water sounds which give me goosebumps to this day. I still enjoy this feeling more than anything else. It gives me a sense of nostalgic comfort, a full body tingling sensation that allows me to sleep, however I am feeling. I still listen to the sounds of water to relax, meditate and sleep. It is always able to take me to a safe place, a previous home, a memory with my Mum, the company of a pet, or just laying next to that bathtub for what felt like forever.
I still lay on my bathroom mat, listening to my bath fill, putting the faucet on slow so the sounds will last as long as possible and I can drift away.

I sat at my desk once and on a legal pad I listed, in brief one line descriptions, all the things that triggered the tingles during my childhood (and adult) bath time. From start to finish, like “roll top bathtub”, “warm rising steam”, “dark fall evening”, “subdued lights”, etc. I came up with two full pages of short descriptors. Every time I pull out those sheets and read them I experience those bath times all over again, including the shivers and tingles. Since everyone is telling their stories I’ll tell mine. The master bedroom of my childhood home had a huge bathroom attached. There was a big main part with a bath, shower and sink, and then there was a smaller room with a toilet, and my parents’ closet was actually in the bathroom as well. Ever since I was really young I always loved the sound of the water pouring and splashing in the bathtub. I would lay on the bathmat, close my eyes and relax, It took me to a magical place. A place where no one would bother me, a place where nothing matterd, it was just me and the waters splashing noises. I enjoy this feeling more then anything else,I used to only bath once a week and I made a little ritual for myself I used to put water all over my body whic cooled it down and gave me the goosebumps.
I called laying on the bathmat "meditating" as a joke since it took me into a state similar to meditation. I would go like this for a long time, many times my parents even came in and told me to actually start bathing because i used all the water from the boiler
so it needed to end sadly, but I always waited the next Sunday to finally experince this again. I'm very thankful for this video I found out that there are many people who also feel the same way as I do.

At my childhood home my bathroom that I shared with to brothers was diagonal to my bedroom. My closet shared walls with the bathroom and anytime my little brother would take a bath, I’d run to the closet and bury myself in long dresses and blankets, and all of the overhanging clothes, I’d press my ear up against the door and close the closet door to block out any noise coming from the house, I’d cover my other ear and close my eyes, often I’d imagine a mysterious or mystical land and drift away, others I’d just enjoy the sound of the bath filling, I’d end up falling asleep either way, but reading all the stories and seeing just how familiar we all experienced this simple sound makes me happy, us this white noise effect puts me to sleep every night with how comforting it is.

One article I read said, “baths give you a wonderful combination of isolation, quiet and comfort…it gives us connotations of being in the womb.” Our brains are deeply encoded with the love of water. Another articles says, “Different water sounds stimulate the parasympathetic nervous system…This nervous system undoes the work of a stressful situation on our mind and body. It decreases respiration and heart rate and increases digestion.” Makes perfect sense. We all seem to feel those goosebumps and tingles when we are near a running bath. Our body is telling us it’s good to be one with the bath. 😊 So, if any of you are feeling stress or anxiety, our bodies are telling us what we need. Let’s listen and make time for our mental and physical health. Don’t have to tell me twice. Haha. 💦🕊️🙏🏽🫧 🛁

Sometimes I would sit next to the tub and lay my head down on the side to watch the water come out. The cool porcelain felt good. When water hit the tub, I could occasionally feel the small splash hit my face. I get goosebumps just thinking about it. And, the sound of the water, very much like this, would take me to another place. I felt so safe and warm. 😊

Thanks for your bath filling videos, I really love them, it helps me to blow my mind, as you expected ! Audio recording is in good quality, one of the best I could find on CZcams so far (and I hear it with a studio headphone, so I could hear white noises more easily, but these ones are quite clean !).
As suggested in the previous videos, maybe you could try to mix/merge the recordings of the different micro positions to get a richer sound. I tried myself to play the other recordings at the same time, and some combinations are pretty nice (I also shared them previously). I think you can still try several nice things with this material. ;o)
Anyway, thank you again. For me, you take care of people when they are receptives in a new quite natural/ecologic way (thousands of ears with only one bath filling, that's pretty nice !), so you've your place here.

Such a great idea to encourage stories. They give me so much life. My best moments were laying with a soft towel over my body and head on another towel. I liked being close to the tub so I could touch the cool porcelain and feel and hear the reverberation of the water hitting the tub. Then, the warm water would get high enough to splash drops on me. Feeling the cool and the warm together was special. While laying on a soft warm bath mat, I also liked letting my other arm slide across the cool floor every so often. All of this gave me the best tingles. This was my world, all mine. I could let all my cares go for a little while.

Wonderful idea. When im struggling to sleep I come to the comments to see who else has written their story lately.
My cosiest memory would be when I started having baths in a certain house of my childhood. Ive moved around a lot but this house was special. At the time, our dog Bear was just a baby, and I was about 10 years old. Whilst running the bath, which matches this sound perfectly, I would get a towel from the airing cupboard which would stay warm for a little while, and this would make the base of my bathroom bed. The contrast of the cold floor and the warm towel always gave another layer of cosy for me. Id also leave the door open to allow a breeze, and to let Bear come and join me if he wanted to, although he was not particularly fond of his baths, he was still a very affectionate boy and I feel we shared some relaxing moments together in this way, on the warm towel, in the old cottage ❤
