First I just want to say thank you to the Lessons With Marcel team! I've been playing guitar-self taught and poorly- for 20 years. I've finally decided to buckle down with the bluegrass genre and your site is better than the more expensive ones by far! I try to pay as much as I can for each tab but the fact that they are all voluntary means so much! I have a Martin Road series d-10e at the moment but this helps so much when I contemplate my next upgrade. Could you maybe take on your most challenging video to date: not a monster Tony Rice or Billy Strings lick, but a "why your wife needs you to buy another Martin guitar" video? You will TRULY be the GOAT if you can!
I went to a store this weekend that had 13 Collings and loads of Martins. If I had been blindfolded I think I would’ve picked a Yamaha FG9. My eyes wouldn’t let me do it.
This totally vindicates me for all guitar comparisons. I hear flowery comments about guitar tones and tone woods, and I just hear acoustic guitar. These guys are Pros and they can't tell Spruce/Rosewood from all Mahogany when they're playing them... In my mind, it all comes down to the specific guitar and how you feel when you're playing it...
funny enough a year or so ago I was going to buy a Martin at a local shop, I tried a 28 an 18 an 19, 15, and lastly pickup a 15m street master which looked horrible but after spending time playing all of them over and over again I ended up buy the ugly duckling 15M Streetmaster. it just sang far more than any of the others and was literally half the price of a D28 I went in with the cash to buy!
While I didn't do that well it was still really fun to be a part of this video!
As a Martin lover: thank you for your service!
And we enjoyed it a lot anyway.
Did I really just watch 20 minutes of non-stop bullshittery and enjoy every second of it? Why yes, I did :D
You all have such great chemistry and humility. The banter, the music and the insights you all shared about guitar choices and soungs- delightful!
This might be my favorite guitar video ever.
Been loving the IBMA vids lately! Great work Marcel and team
I only liked once I heard that Sweet Georgia Brown solo. Man that was great!

SUCH A GOOD VID YALL ARE SO UNDERRATED
So many great videos recently!
Now that was a fun video. Thank you!
I really like the Martin D-15, and always wondered why they don't get more appreciation.
The whole 15 series is phenomenal.
After watching this, I am confident I would get all of these instruments guessed incorrectly.
I do love my D-15. Sound is heavenly, just lacks a bit of cut. One of the most underrated bluegrass guitars for situations outside of large jams.
The likelihood is “not high”
Go Hayes!!!
So basically I should buy a D-13 and save the dough for lessons, picks, and capos. Gotcha.
Yes!!!
I would have liked to see a D-35 in the mix! Good job!
It would have been so cool to see someone like Tony Rice do this test. I’d say he could actually tell
Jakes hilarious. Good video

Just bought a SuperD

Is there much difference at all between the standard D15 and the Street Master?
Hey love you
The weight is probably what alsrmed both of them of the D13. Its too obvious.
Great players, but one guy really has no idea what he's playing by sound 😅
What fun! And they sound great (blind folded).
