In this thrilling outdoor adventure, join me as I brave the elements in the OEX Bobcat one-man tent, testing its resilience against the impending Storm Isha. With forecasted storm force winds and heavy rain, we set out to assess the tent's performance in challenging conditions. Little did we know, Storm Isha arrived earlier than expected, adding an extra layer of intensity to our expedition.
Our journey began with a picturesque landscape adorned with snow and ice, creating a stunning backdrop for our camping experience. As the sun made a brief yet spectacular appearance, the distant fells showcased dramatic cloudscapes, adding to the already fantastic atmosphere.
The video also features a test of the MSR Access 1 in stronger winds before the main storm hit our location. Did theOEX Bobcat hold up? Find out in this video!
This micro adventure in the great outdoors provided us with a firsthand look at the tent's performance in very changeable weather conditions. Throughout it all, the landscape remained both challenging and awe-inspiring.

superb effort Ant, I do a lot of motorbike camping . I always used my trusty Vango 200 Arrow, then used a goose wingman of the road all in one swag (nice concept but not for me). you have without a doubt been the most informative and dare I say been the most passionate advocate for the Bobcat 1. I now use the Bobcat and tarp, best set up ever.

When I love something I really love it and I think how I have been with this tent shows just how much I trust and favour it over all I've tried. Nothing I've used as come close to this tent, from how safe I feel in it to the warmth it keeps in and circulating round throughout a night in it. I have yet to find any major faults, not one.

Thanks Dave, yeah it was biting when we first got there. The weather came in and a thaw started but then come pack down it was bitter again!

I use a car window screen frost protector to sleep on. One with the silver on to reflect the body heat. Makes hell of difference.

Great video Ant! Definitely feels like we’re up there with you sharing the moment. The bobcat is still holding on which is impressive. I must say that you and I share the same interest in food. Chris is still hooked on the Turmat but I am glad he got himself a proper breakfast!

Haha I love my food, I couldn't eat that Dried food, it's nit for me mate. I get it's light and I should really think of my back haha but I love quality food. I gotta treat everyone who comes out with me to something nice, I couldn't have him having the breakfast bar he takes, no way!

I feel like the OEX Bobcat has the sort of vibe that the Vango Banshee has. Tough, bit heavy but cheap

It's quite relaxing really. I woke a good few times with the tent shaking and flapping as a couple of the guy lines pulled out but it wasnt too bad. Yes, the Bobcat is an amazing shelter id definitely recommend. I have plenty of other videos im my back catalogue that features this awesome tent 😊. I have grown to love my MSR, it's a hideous and very disagreeable colour to my eye, but it's a superb tent. If you can get hold of one mate do it.

The Bobby does it again.. I was waiting for this vid to drop after watching Chris's earlier and seeing that the Bobby was in for another tough test on that plateau. I said to Chris i love those fells and i have camped pretty much the same spot as its only 30mins away from me. Suprised you didnt camp at the Pole further round. Lol.As for that back draught experience with the stove you were nearly very warm. 😂🔥. Its certainly given me some faith in the Bobby the amount of abuse you and leon have put them through so i thank you for that. Budget doesnt have to be rubbish. Did you using the original pegs or did you use those ground plastic anchors . I presume you were toasty all night. Thanks for sharing and keep doing what you are doing. All the best matey. Andy

Haha yeah it's a close one. I've been trying to get the inverted gas canister right for some time now, I'm going yo keep practicing but outside the tent lol.
Thanks mate, I do take care of my kit but on the same hand I want it to look after me, that's why I'm punishing it the way I am. It's nit that I'm disrespecting my gear it's that I'm pushing it to breaking point so that everyone knows what the limit is for this awesome bit of kit.
No mate, the pegs have corroded (I need to mention that in a vid) so I've swapped them out. Not a good choice I might add so I'll be swapping again.
Oh yes mate nice and toasty, I had the bivi bag on just incase the Bob failed so I was boiling.

Beautiful local area. I've been really enjoying the Trough of Bowland with groups from work lately. Relatively quiet and absolutely stunning. I think you definitely picked the best location on that side of Parlick. Although I love a summit camp on Fairsnape I reckon the views are better from that campspot. Me n the Mrs are due a trip to that spot soon ( When it warms up a bit for her lol, even though her sleeping bags a beast 😂) .

Wow just new to the channel and it was heart in mouth stuff from the start, I thought the tent was up in flames. I’ve a few tents at the moment but the bobcat is ticking the right boxes for a new one. Great video 👍.

Hi Mark, yeah the Bob is a beast, I just can not fault it! I'm not blowing smoke up my own ass but you'd be hard pressed to see any other tuber put this tent through its paces like I do with it.
Yeah man, it had snow under me all night and that blanket kept me toasty.

The MSR access looks good but the pole is really suspect to bending inverted under high wind
Keep an eye out for it on Chris's channel mate, he'll definitely let you know if he comes across any issues with it.

Do get a decent mat 1st cos I bought few cheaper ones as was newbie oex was poop then trekolagy 140 didn't get try it stays up 2 hours max another one was klymit all rubbish got thermarest topo lux there thickest mat 4 inches on sale 100 or so I wasted more on crap 😂added karrimor karrimat jobs sorted allweathers plus comfy
Yeah I know what you mean David. I do have comfy mats but they just aren't thermal. I have the Alpkit Numo which is fantastic for my back but you feel the cold same with the one I use in this video. This unfortunately will have to do it I can afford a quality one. Cheers for watching pal
