    National ready mix 31.50 n hour 50-60 hours union.. class B tanker endorsement busy springs and summers… kick back job. It’s cake.. no running or lifting, just driving and safety

    Hmm. a Very short and humble response. Nice guy too. What he doesn't say is that this truck this job is very demanding mentally/ physically and highly stressful. You surely don't eat right ,i,e
    (breakfast / lunch/dinner) you eat out of your lunch box . so prepare well thought out foods. You most certainly will not get even remotely close to a regular sleep hours or even enough sleep. Do the math! 70 hours a week sounds like a lot of money - but they cant really work you more than a 15 hour shift. If you work 12 hour days times 6 days that equals 70 hours But you have been up fro how long before you even started your shift? when you clock out you are still at work in the yard. You haven't even gotten to home or dinner or a shower cause your still at work, let alone have to deal with drive home traffic , paying out your bills, dealing with your family and prepare a lunch for the next shift . Most likely you will skip dinner or eat something like fried chicken and hit the sack? You could and you will work a 15 hour day and have been awake since 3 am the previous day and have to stay up and wait till 7pm and hope they posted a time for your next shift before you can retire. you don't get traditional time away from the job on breaks or lunch. But they may have made that part better these days with all the law suits against them for not giving drivers breaks and lunch periods. The mixer truck will beat the living crap out of you driving empty and on long drives or on rough roads even decent roadways- the truck's front end is so much lighter than the rear ,and it is very slippery on surfaces and poorly paved job sites. You will bounce around up/down in your chair (so to speak) in the cab and not really give it much thought till you become injured with a horrible back and or neck pain. Driving loaded , the mixer truck is an entirely different beast. This driver keeps saying well the truck is top heavy. Yes, true it is but with a high center of gravity and a fluid load in the drum, stopping , turning , breaking , even at take off from a stop the truck becomes an entirely different mixer truck. Loaded, The truck becomes so heavy you have to be even more aware of the soil or pavement or dirt or mud or water on which you must travel on. Unloading at job sites is probably the 2nd most stressful part other than not being fully rested or dealing with the elements or navigating with all the cars and motor bikes on the road. IF your not 100% careful unloading at a job site you can in a blink of an eye hurt somebody fatally / or destroy property or equipment. Most people are not mentally fit and mechanically inclined to do this job. Its just a matter of time before luck runs out on those types. If you have little to no common sense, this will work against you. as you cant teach common sense. One can teach how to drive and how to operate the mixer truck but you cant teach common sense and awareness. Ready mix companies now days seem to have more rules that they govern as opposed to just have a proper training program and a well minded and trusted and very "Experienced" driver trainer. Stay far and clear from the non union companies as they will work you to death without any remorse or gratitude. You may want to dismiss my comments here or even feel you want to counter this? but all this is sadly very true. Be safe, be smart and stay alert at all times. And most importantly do not do what this guy is demonstrating in this interview. I see he is at idle at a job site standing by to unload at a trailer pump job location. This is a perfect example of common sense. There is absolutely no reason to let your guard down on your personal safety. Do not take this job for granted or ever get complacent. Always Wear your hard hat and safety glasses and gloves as needed. Not because it s a rule but more so because its for your safety. It just takes one miscue or one moment of unpredictability / circumstance that are out out of your control. And then ,and just then-you will learn the hard way. Yeah ya want to look good on camera glasses up over your head doing absolutely nothing for your eye safety, but looking cool with no hard hat cause it will mess up your hair? Sure, i get it !! your just talking and want to look your best for the interview. Your an experienced driver right? Wrong. this is how things happen-when you least expect them. Common sense - I talked about this.
    I hope you are not a driver trainer sir? No offense to all , honestly. But I'll anticipate a middle finger or bashing.

      I’m speaking from southern ca ready mix with 30 years experience.
      It all depends who you work for and where you work -just Like another reply responding to my comment.
      The industry (Robertson’s) always hires and trains cause most don’t want to work for them or they just aren’t cut out for the job , but they hire and train cause they are “new hires”
      ‘“cheap labor” saves and makes the more money in the process. Smart move actually , but not everyone is cut out for this job and that is what was I really was getting at. Be careful out there.

      It seems that you work in the industry. Thanks a lot for your comment. I'm a Cdl class B driver myself with 18+ years experience. I never got my tankers. I was looking into getting in the ready mix industry, also wanting to get my tanker endorsement but after your comment, I'm alright. I'm gonna stay where I am.

    This job is a widow maker lol so they say but I’ll say this if you have a CDL you will have to change it to Vegas only down test all over again!

    The old dudes in Robertsons are guys that never tried to better there life’s its not what they claim it is it’s the worst company in the industry they overwork you and under pay you look into other company’s these guys turn over rate is horrible they can’t even keep 3 out of every 10 drivers they hire past a year.

    to put it plain and truthful . When you become a mixer driver everything else comes second . marrige ,kids ,sleep,diet and general health . some except it to make a living

    Damn only up to 33 an hr that’s garbage I know some truck drivers making $100 plus an hr (Bay Area ) (Oakland/SF)

      Making $100 as a Class B driver seems a little bit odd, you are probably talking about a Class A driver.

      @@juan19avila lol I’m class A. I don’t make 100 an hr. I’m make great money though. But some class B guy make good money if they own their own truck. Payed by loads
