One of the BEST pieces of music ever written and recorded!
He sure is 💘❤️💞
Everyone's fantasy about their youth. But one of the great lines in a song; '20 years now, where'd they go, 20 years now I don't know'; that is everyone's truth.
60 plus years for me. :)
How "bout 40 yrs now
Ìm 77 now..starting to be more like a pebble. My mind is still a rock but my body is betraying me
I'm 80 and still think about the best year of my life. Then Life caught up with me and taught me what life is all about
I an 82 and it is 64years, where did it go, I don't know. It has been a long and winding road.
At 69, retired truck driver, did my share of Detroit, Chicago, K. C., all over the mid west, north and south.
Found cassette from a friend in 76, 77.
Talk about an influence
Thanks Bob Seger.
I bought nine tonight twice in one week.
For five days straight, I flipped that cassette repeatedly, until, on the way home, the tape player decided it wanted to eat the tape.
Remember those days, always the favorite tape too?
I bought Nine Tonight at least five times, the last a cd.
Because of the beard and hair, it started with Grizzly Adams, Kenny Rogers, Randy Owen, Michael McDonald, yrea, you put long hair and a beard on a man, and we all look alike.
Once in Springfield Mass. a pregnant woman asked me if I was somebody's brother, and I had to say it, "Why ", looking at her pregnant belly. Big laugh.
I walked thru a bar in a truck stop south of Baltimore, with my long hair and black leather jacket, and I heard this guy screaming, " Bob, Bob, ", my name is Bill, but I turned to see who he was hollering at, it was me, he says, " Bob Seger ", I waived and laughed.
Personally, put us all in a line up, its the hair cut and beard, not the face.
Okay, one more, Bob Seger concert, Cleveland, Oh.
Went to eat first, walking down the street, outside the stadium, basketball, I guy sitting in one of sidewalk cafe's had to look twice, three times thinking I was him, then a vendor asks me for an autograph.
But the one I am most PROUD of, The MAN, Bob Seger.
If I had any talent, I would have Bob Seger tribute band.
Can't sing, can't dance, I got no rhythm. The only thing I can play, is the radio, and Bob Seger
Bob, Mr. Seger, THANK YOU for the music, and the memories.
THANK YOU.
Loved the duets, also.
God bless you and the family.
Lets take a walk down Main Street and reminisce.
I was walking,
By the river,
I held my hand out,
To feel the rain
Who can't love this guy?
What a cool story! You just inspired me to share a few wonderful memories of my journeys with cassette tape’s!
All love to you! ❤ Have a great day ~ and drive safe wherever you go.
My father, the old Army Master Sergeant, passed away in March 2020 at the age of 89. We saw eye-to-eye on virtually nothing. But he was rock and taught me and my brothers how to be men…how to be accountable, responsible and take of our families. Lessons for life. When I listen to this song, I hear a tribute to the old Master Sergeant.
Mine was R C A F. Canadian taught me too. I'm his daughter. I'm learning to stand for 🇨🇦💯❤️. A little help from Bob too..always with ❤️
Good Men!!❤
....You are bless to know your father....
My Dad was a drill instructor in the Army..learned early not to ask why...love this song
I know exactly what you're talking about, my father, a retired Sergeant Major of 24 years is 80 years old & still to this day a hard core, mean as a snake, don't take no shit of a man, I learned so much from him, he has dementia now, God I love him, he's a good man, just like yours👍✌️
I'm 69, cancer survivor this past year, still doing construction work to make ends meet and help the kids. I sat by my 90 year old Dad's bedside in my house when he died after we had cared for him for five years. I didn't realize what a rock he had been and how much his life had influenced me even though he was old school Navy and I was a '60's hippie and we never saw eye to eye even to the end. We were two rocks, side by side. Thanks, Dad.
so sad omg.......i hoop you are strong enof now and better healthy life......i send you much hugs
DAMN... what do I say?....keep being you 👍
Keep on the good fight 👍
Your dad was one of a kind. Like a rock
Crying about your dad and your cancer on the internet is definitely not like a rock, dude.
Will be 59 next month, have lost 2 husband's to Cancer and not only kept my house on 5 acres but raised 8 successful kid's here. Like a Rock.
God Bless You
Amen.
In twelve years I’ve lost three brothers. Two to lung cancer and one to Covid. I’m now alone the last man standing I guess you could say. Life is lonely without them but my God and savior helps me get through it. With hope and faith I will be with them again.
Rock on mama ❤
God bless you, sorry for your loss of loved ones I'm there as well wish peace for you . Just know we will see our loved ones on the other side .when we pass
71, cancer survivor, lost a kidney to cancer again, heart surgery, and now stage 5 kidney disease. Raised 2 beautiful strong independent young women, helped with 5 grandkids, and now have 5 great grandchildren. They are all my Rocks.....as I hope they think I am theirs!
You are!
I love everything he sings. I'm a cancer survivor but when I was going through chemotherapy treatments I was listening to Bob. Thnx for getting me through the hardest time in my life.
We're glad you're here
@@christopherandersen2511 Why thanks that's a nice thing to say ❤
We are all with you best wishes my friend.
I'll be 55 my next birthday, August that is. My dad passed away November 27,2020 which is also my mom's birthday. Married in 1966. He got sent off to Chilcathie Ohio, served a sentence of 5 years. Running shine in the hills of Kentucky. However my sister and I were born in Chicago. He wasn't allowed back in the state of Kentucky or Ohio for 5 years. He somehow got us out of Chicago after the 5 years was over moved us Closer to home. He got a job at Queen City Lumber Company in Cincinnati moved on a block and we were on Chambers St . Him and my mom had not only had a home but it was the nicest one on the entire block. Now my brother was born a buckeye but like all of us, we loved it down home as we called it as kids. After 5 years my dad had become the staple of pride for the company. He designed the knives to cut out some of the most beautiful crown molding , and even after all those years I have yet to see picture frames even close to the one's that have been hanging in there home. He had a brand new 1978 Ford F150 and a brand new 1977, Chevy Caprice Classic . We ate stake about every other night. But it was time to get his family back down home. Left Cincy built his own home.paid for it (him and mom) for nearly 30 years and never missed a payment or even late with one 1⃣ payment. I got to hold him in my arms his last week of life and I got to look that man in the eyes and tell him he was my hero and my best friend and I could never ever ask for a better dad. He was the best and I also told him he was the smartest man I had ever knew . And he was. He passed but he has not left his roots. It is amazing I feel his presence everywhere. I'm trying to build my own life in the shadows of a man who is hands down the rock in my life. I love you dad
❤
I am 67 years old , and now I have cancer. When I listen to this song , I feel great because i remember my youth. Thank you…..

I’m 61 with heart failure and blood clots I broke my back over 30 years ago and still worked for my family I hope someday they know I did it for them
I just turned 66 three weeks ago. My hair is grey and thinning and yeah I'm a bit tired and worn. But damnit there was a time when I was like a rock. And I thank God for giving me the opportunity to have at least once be like that.
I bet your still like a rock bud.
You're still a rock
I was just thinking about those years,,,l am going on 72 and still kicking Ass and taking names
God Bless You
01:12 just shy of 75 and I remember when throwing 80lb hay bales up 3 levels onto the truck was nothing and no one messed with me. Like a Rock.
Dad was 42 when I was born. He was 49 when my sister came along. He took up jogging so he could stay in good shape. He was tough, almost super human. He was tough on me growing up, and I resented that. I ashamed of the way I used to feel. I know he meant well now. I was 39 when he passed away, that was 21 years ago. He was strong and tough like a rock. He was almost 81 I miss him a lot. I could go on but I won't. You'll realize what you had when you don't.
Beautiful
I am 80 will be 81 next Mon never get tired of Bob Seger's Music .The BEST EVER still GOOD.
Thanks dianne❣
his music is timeless
Happy Birthday 👍
Right with ya. I just turned 81 this December. Still love Bob Seger's music.
Hello, how are you doing?
I'm 59....have health problems but still going strong......I'm definitely a Rock ..
I buried my dad today. An 83 year old Command Sergeant Major who did 2 tours in Vietnam. He died a frail, shell of the almost Superhuman I remember as a kid. This song seems to personify him in my mind. I listen to it and think of him. So long dad, I will see you on the other side.
I tip my helmet to that proud, brave, and honorable Vietnam vet. Carry on, CSM, carry on.
Im sorry for your loss. Keep his memory alive and he is with you always. I thank him for his service to this Great Country.

My condolences to you and your family
"You have some Big shoes to fill"💙
The older you get the more this song makes sense. If you are young, enjoy that ride while it lasts!!
It is similar to a Neil Diamond song "nothing but a heartache." Slightly different word meanings and a great bass laid down by the drummer.
Wow I totally understand I'm 30 years old been listening to this song as long as I can remember going to continue to listen to it till the day I pass you're exactly right God bless Bob Seger and yourself shit God bless to all!!
60 and STILL enjoying the ride....
Amen to that, I can relate. 1975
Seems like yesterday... Lenny with his Grand Torino and me with the old Plymouth Fury. Tapedeck in the glove box; tearing around town.
Not a care.
My son is still in his mid twenty's. Shared this with him years ago and he was just overwhelmed. Loved it! I wish I could be young with him. He's my best friend and my hero. He's done more and seen more in his short life than I have at 60. Be strong son. Dad loves you.
A true hero you are sir!!!! My son is 33…. Yes indeed…. This song is our anthem!
Mine as well. Great to have hero kids
Totally AWESOME
My son is also in his mid-twenties. At 57, I, too, wish I could be young with my son. I think he's already a better man than I ever was.
HAPPY FOR YOU TWO, I JUST HAD MY 25 YRO SON'S FUNERAL JAN 9th.
I RAISED ALL 4 OF MY CHILDREN ON THE MUSIC OF 70'S & 80'S, THEY JUST LOVED IT
There are only TWO groups of people in this world.

Those who never heard his music

I lost my dad yesterday morning. I held his hand as he took his last breath. When I drove home, this was the first song I listened to as a memorial to him. He stood arrow straight while others around him wavered. Stand proud, stand tall, dad. WDK 1944-2020

What an Honorable way to remember Your Dad.May God bless You.

Lost my dad to ms Christmas Day 2015, which was a catch 22 (those who watched a loved one with something like ms or cancer knows) remember him every time I hear any song off the night moves album.
I'm 72 and still listening to Bob Seger. I have always enjoyed his music and always will. There are no comparable artists these days, unfortunately.
Agreed Mike
no argument here. 67 year old
He's timeless like the Eagles
Hello. I'm thinking in a larger sense, we don't other musicians to emulate those that have gone before them. We already have the best and the classic versions of artists. Bob is at the top of the list. IMO peace out in 2024
When your life is great and you have happiness you listen to the music. But when you are in a dark place you listen to the words. That is what music is for.
My grandfather just passed away today!! Left me this song said to listen when he dies!! Your my rock papa! RIP WENDELL JOE COMSTOCK
God bless you sweetie. Your Papa sounds like he was amazing. Great taste in music. Wonderful grandson. Served his country well. They don't make music like they used to. They don't make many Papas like they used to. Cherish the memories 💓

Amen, thanks for creating and sharing this moment with the world Bob. Saw you live once, you're still amazing. Amazing voice and performance!
No one survives life. We all end up dead some day.
My favorite Bob Seger song. When this song first came out my mom played it over and over and over again. She use to say “you have to feel the words…..” I was, of course the young kid on the other side of the tracks and didn’t understand what she meant. 🤷♀️🤷♀️🤷♀️🤣🤣 you know, just Momma talking nonsense. She was a single mother who raised three kids on her own. We were grown and she was just done, she was sick. She had not been diagnosed yet but she had Pulmonary Fibrosis. I started supporting us when I was just nineteen years old. She died when I was just 31. It’s been twenty years this year. I was at work on the anniversary of her death and this song came on my phone and I broke down and cried when the first line came on “Twenty years where’d they go?…….” And I ugly cried. For a while. It was the first time I had cried like that over my mom in a while. One of those deep, sobbing, can’t catch your breath kind of cries. I guess I needed to cry like that. I was under a lot of stress and my heart was broken at the time. I had just lost my baby brother just over a year earlier to Covid, and my older brother had just been diagnosed with colon cancer, and my dad is in bad shape. My life is a country song. 😂😂 I guess me ugly crying is exactly what I needed at the time. My love of music, and Bob Seger, comes from my Momma. I miss her terrible, some days more than others. Today is one of those days when I miss her more than yesterday. So, I listen to her song. ❤❤❤
That was beautiful, you don't fully realize the Depth of the Lyrics till you are moving towards the opposite side of the tracks. Your Mom lives eternally inside your heart & soul..💕
Sometimes you just have to do that, no shame there. After that good cry you probably took a deep breath and carried on strong. You're only human.
Now I say 40 years, where did the 80s. Best days of my life.
Man can I relate ! My daddy was the strongest, proudest, he man that I have ever seen! He served in the U.S. Army ‘54-‘56. He was that man that Bob is singing about. I played this for him, just me and him alone, in ‘05. I saw that far away look in his eyes as he listened. He was not one to show emotions, very much, but I think the song connected the way I had hoped it would. My dad passed away from numerous health problems, in ‘09. Every time I hear this song I think of my daddy. I always did even from the first time.
When men were men
This Awesome Song is always one of the first Songs that I think of when I think about My Dad.He and My Mom passed away 25 years ago just two weeks apart.God wanted them to come to Heaven Together.
God Bless You
Beautiful
My mother called me yesterday in tears after listening to this song. Nearly 20 years ago I stood tall and proud with my right hand up swearing an oath to our nation. Some where after that time she watched me fall to my knees weak and crippled by pain from war and lost in the darkness of mental health. Today I have a beautiful son of my own and stood up strong like a rock. The impact songs can have are amazing
you hang in ther my brother ! thank you for your service!
Welcome home and Thank You for all of your sacrifices for us. God Bless You and Your family.

I listened to this all through my cancer treatments and still do ,I had a 15 % chance of survival ,but this song got me through it
Congrats. Hold steady.
At 58 years old now I know that I'm a shadow of the man I was in my 20s, 30s and 40s and looking back at the things I used to do listening to the song brings a tear to my eye. To the young man out there savor every moment of your strength and your youth because it all fades away too soon.
Agree the lyrics hit more as we grow older
Amen brother
Well said.

Dude, that statement makes you the rock that you are. It's called being a man. In this day youngers need some leadership into manhood. Keep that going.
I love this song. I'm battling alcoholism and kidney disease now at 51. As long as I have air in my lungs, I will keep pushing forward. Thanks for this song Bob. Amen

My father struggled with alcoholism since he was 17. He died over 30 years sober in July of 2022. I have no doubt you can get sober if it's really what you want! You can do this.

I’m here an ole time 83 yr old bald headed up & comin down town boogie artist with a country ,calypso ,tango flavour and man just heard this for first time from Bobby and man did it touch the inner ruins of the hollow canyons of my mind ,heart and soul
Never left, dog.😊
Oh yes
I think Bob Seger might be the most underappreciated singer/songwriter of all time.
He's a legend,amazing.
He sure is one great singer
The brilliant Bob seger
Meeeeee tooooooo
Another legend love love love his tunes
I can't put it better. He blows Springsteen away.
Maybe it's because of my Midwestern upbringing. I grew up in Ohio and listened to the Michael Stanley Band, Seger and so many others.
Seger is a master songwriter. He tells a story like few others in any kind of music.
Like so many other writers here....I am now about to turn 73 and wondering where the years have gone. Childhood, the teen years, Vietnam, raising two wonderful sons, and finding the love of my life to share these waning years. It's been a helluva ride folks.
I played this song at my dad's funeral. Of course, everyone judged me for not playing I guess gospel but this was my dad's favorite song .I can still hear him singing every word.
It describes him perfect!
You did that for your father. The comments of some sweep under the rug. Do not allow the negative response from some to cloud the thought of why you played what you played with that one special gift you played in honor of your father is special time that he was able to share with you while he was here. There has always been ugly comments by some that's apart of life. Try not to let it upset you they win by upsetting you. When you least expect it some where in the future you will hear that song, and some where deep past your heart there will be a smile that is felt in your soul that no one can fill it your rock. Your father is still with you just at a greater distance.
I grew up in the ‘90’s, so for me this was always the song for Chevy commercials.
My Dad drove a Chevy Silverado.
I lost him in 2013. Mom followed him earlier this year.
When I hear this song, it makes me think of the man my dad was. A man I took for granted as a child.
If you are blessed enough to still have your parents in your life, cherish them. They are only here for a little while.
Rip to your father...this song is why i have a Silverado to this very day only truck I'll ever own
This will always be The Chevy Truck song. I’ve had all three, but always come back and buy another Chevy.
Amen dude.
Ameny Amen 💕🤔
Amazing amount of time Amen to that I can do whatever I want everyone to do is believe it Amen 🙏🌄🙏🌄

Sitting in a hospital room with my 79 year old wife lying there half out of her mind with pain listening to this...tears a hole in your heart the size of a planet. If I could take the pain and make her well, I'd do it in an instant. She was and is my 'rock'. Me? Not so much for her.
I lost my little brother back in 2014. This song is definitely part of the soundtrack of life I had to help me get through that time. Peace, Love and Happiness to all of you ✌️🫶

I get a lump in my throat and my eyes well up with tears whenever I hear or listen to this great song. I was once a young man, I joined the army, seen combat, got married, had kids, lost good friends, lost family members, etc. Now I'm a broken and old man, twisting the throttle of life and smiling at the memories this song brings.

Wow! I love you all! The care and compassion complete strangers has been absolutely mind-blowing! I guess my original comment above may have come across as if I was at he end of my rope, road and life, and only now I see how easily that post I made raised concern amongst some of you. Sorry if it came across as depressing, but I never intended it to be that way. I guess I got caught up in the moment of strolling through memories. You guys/gals/people rock! \m/ This is the caliber of people Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band creates!
Sounds like you had (and still have!) one hell of a life! Be proud of your history and life experience, they made you the man you are today. 22 years old and i still always come to the classics. Nothing can top them and im glad i was raised with this kind of music
You know it. Try listing to Journey, Tom Petty, Eagles, Kansas Carry on my way word son, Boston so many more so little time. Make the time there's nothing like a good song taking you back to that special place and time. The smile that comes to your face is nothing like the warmth that comes through your heart. If we could live like it was in the good ole days 60's and the 70's coming full circle.
No, those songs are great, but not the same! I sit her on my porch, listening to this, and I realize how much I put in, and how long will I wait for the payoff!
You sure have awesome parents❤❤.

In the previous comments below I salute those who have been through difficult circumstances and their survival. I wish to comment tonight on the lyrics and the band. Mr Seger obviously grew up in the Midwest. The video and lyrics reflect that so well to someone who also grew up in the Midwest ( Central Indiana). A true masterpiece of songwriting. I saw Bob in concert in 1976 as a warmup act to believe it or not Kiss. My friends and I looked at our tickets and wondered prior to the show in Market Square Arena in Indianapolis " who the hell is Bob Seger and the Silver Bullitt Band??? We soon learned what was real and what was fake. Mr. Seger and his band stole the show. A killer, tight band with Alto Reed standing on a stack of amps playing the sax while Bob sang his heart out. I'm 60 soon to turn the calendar on another year and I remember that night well. Thank you Bob Seger. I'm fortunate to have seen you and your band,
Well it’s January 1st, 2022, still listening to Bob Seger. I’m 69 and he never gets old to me either.
He just like fine wine. He’s aged well. Love me some Seger!!!!!

Thank you for your service... I get it ..there will be no white flag above your door, when we suffer from PTSD, we ? Where is our ROCK? PTSD pushes us to places we don't want to recall, it's not the memories that we wanted to create , but are a result from what's been given to us, we can't bury it, we swish it away, we wish it would wash away, so many will try to drink it or drug it away, sadly it just doesn't leave us, at times it gets the best of us & pushes us into a different culture of GREY, but hopefully you won't let it get you too far discouraged, just doing things differently will get you moving along a awesome path, starting with a new thing you find each day.. have hope, let the joys flood you w new , happier, better experiences, to keep the burdens of PTSD away... For TODAY, this moment "Like a ROCK" for you I PRAY.........

20 years... where'd they go now..... times 3....💪💪
I listened to this with my daughter when she was 18 (I was 56). Then I told her to listen to it in 20 years, and once more when she's my age. I wish I could be there with her, but she'll understand why. It will be a different song every time. Hang on to the memories, Scooter. Love you,
Dad
I agree with you 100% I am 72 remember listen to the song when I was unfortunately some people listen to the song when they really should be listenin to the
I agree with most. Everytime I listen to this song, it means something different. To me it's a solid song. Forever and ever.

This is my sobriety song/ ballad,
26 years ago I was a couple of months into my decision to stop drinking, My then , now X wife #3 said she had a boyfriend , I had a lot on my plate, I was driving home from a business trip knowing when I got home she would've moved out !
I put a cd in the player and this song came on , the more I listened to it the more I knew I was going to be able to deal with everything that would be thrown at me !
The worst things in my life have hit me since I quit but I was able to deal with them and survive.
Thank You Bob Seger !
Like a rock.
Your father should teach you , my father taught me to drive. God Bless my Father.
I am 85 now and his voice and lyrics literally bring tears to my eyes(as I type these comments) his .I feel a stab in my chest listening to him. Experiences of a life are encapsulated in his words and unique one of a kind voice. I know he is gone as is my youth. But with his songs it was a pretty good ride. Night moves, like a rock, against the wind , as an old biker "roll me away" against the wind

I saw Bob in 1986 at the Spectrum in Philly with my oldest daughter Katie for her 7th birthday. We lost her on Mother's Day 1999 when I eulogized her life it was about she was my rock. That 7th birthday seeing Bob together was the most special night of my life. Thank you Bob.
I’m so sorry 😢, NOBODY should ever have to bury their baby, she sounds like she was awesome
I am very sorry for your loss. I can't imagine the pain. There is nothing I can say that would mitigate the heartbreak, I can only wish you peace.
So sorry man.
You poor soul. You’re incredibly strong. I can’t say that I would’ve lived through such a traumatic event.
So sorry, 2017 concert was the best night ever for me too. RIP to my mom who was a huge Seger fan. We’ll always have the songs and the memories of the smiles buddy. God bless. ❤️
Me and my friends, lived most of our teenage years during the 80's, here, in the mountains of southern West Virginia, and we were like rocks, hair down to our shoulder's, steel in our eyes. Took no crap from anyone, your buddies always had your back, did'nt have to ask. Now, in 2020, I'm 55, half bald, don't see so well and short a few good buddies, who have went on to the other side. I tear up listening to this song, it takes me back for a little while, to a time when we thought we wre going to live forever, and acted like it. Sweet times and fond memories. Be excellent to each other people, we are all we got. Later.
You guys rock!
You were loving the "program" bud, hair or not, see it thru, we all we got!
Well said!
Amen!

I'm going to be 73 in a couple weeks. This songs brings tears to my eyes. Somehow i can relate. I recall....I was 19 & my husband was in the military. I was still full of dreams. He past away 2022....

I'm 81 and remember my younger years. This brings back a lot of memories. I thought I'd never get old but I know I don't have many years left.

I'me 84 now, still hanging in. Three careers behind me, soldier, teacher, novelist (25 books).
And yeah, I'm pretty decrepit now, but there was a time when I too stood like a rock.
Weirdest thing about this song. As a young man in my 20s I remember hearing this and it spoke wisdom to my soul. Now, I'm 58 with grown kids and a grandchild and those words "20 years now, where'd they go, 20 years, I don't know" have almost been doubled and this song speaks to me as an old man.
Well put rexbpiano !
Same here..i play that verse over and over
I always considered it one of the "late" Bob Seger songs lol jesus that song came out 34 years ago.
Same age same thing but I'm no fuckin od man my heart stays 20
Thanx......What's that make me? An "older old man"? I'm 5 years older than you are buddy. Pull your foot out of that grave for a second and listen up......60 is the new 40. Deal with it or die, it's up to you. It's better to live a lie than to die for truth. I don't have any kids but I've got all my hair and for all practical purposes I'm a 43 year old man who retired early and receives SSI every month like clock work. I'm currently hooking up with a 34 year old chic and since nearly all of my friends have died already, there is very little chance I will be exposed as the fraud that I am. Pretty sweet deal wouldn't you say?
My ex husband who was abusive loved Bob Seger and it was one of the best parts of our relationship, He passed away 11 years ago and I listen to this music and remember the good times... Forgiveness is a great thing...

A few years ago I attended the funeral of a veteran police officer slain in the line of duty. A young lady from his family sang this haunting song and, at the end, added an extra verse in honor of the departed. There wasn't a dry eye to be seen. This was the additional stanza.
"Each time I pinned my badge on,
This mantra I would say:
'If life offers you battle, don't ever run away.
When the Devil stalks the righteous,
You stand fast in his way,
Like a rock.' Like a rock."
May the Lord watch over and protect the men and women of that Thin Blue Line who daily risk all to watch over us.
amen
A beautiful tribute - thank you ever so much for your servide.
Amen 🙏 Praise Jesus
The extra verse gave me extra chills. Beautiful!
BEAUTIFUL!!!!
I'm 48 years old and I've dealt with so many trials, tribulations, loss, pain, loneliness, depression and failed in life so many times. Yet, I've picked myself up each time. When I hear this song I think of my mom and my dad. They both lost their battle with cancer. They were brave and solid as a rock. They both faced death and accepted their fate. I recognized how strong they were and that in itself makes my problems look so small.
Amen, no words could give more love and honor to those we love.

I'm 72, been listening to Bob . Seger since i was 13 buying his 45 at Ben Franklin's. Ramblin Man, still have it. It was a great time to grow up. Thanks Bob
This song gives me inspiration to keep going. I felt exactly like this when I was 17. Now after decades of tough construction work, heavy equipment mechanic. A kidney transplant and a stint in my heart and a battle with a fib. 70 years old it’s been a tough road. I walk a lot now. When I get tired I sing this song in my head. Next thing you know I’m standing arrow straight with the sun against my skin hard into the wind I can see myself again. LIKE A ROCK. WELL NOT QUITE LIKE A ROCK BUT IT GETS ME BACK HOME TO CATCH MY BREATH AND DEAL WITH ALL THOSE HUSTLERS AND THEIR SCHEMES.
This was one of my dad's songs, I miss him so much. I'd say tell your Dad how much you love him today but truth to be told now matter how many times I got to tell him, it was / would never have been enough. God Bless you Dad, thank you for being my rock.
Long, long after Taylor Swift, Beiber, Beyonce and countless others there will still be BOB SEGER standing tall. Like a rock! Rest well Alto Reed.🕇
You got that RIGHT!!!
Bob Seger is a legend and his music still stands today head and shoulders above what's out there today and that slide steel guy is soooo awesome even in 20 21 what a fabulous song
Loved this Song the first time that I heard it and Always Will.Just don't make Songs like this Anymore.Bob's A Living Legend.
There is no songs today that match up with the classics if the eighties and half of nineties. After that decade it was all down hill with music except for the country western classics. No one can even come close to them also. Songs today so not tell a story, they only keep repeating the same words over and over as if the song writer got stuck writing new words . And today , from the end if the nineties ii seem like the same tunes and some one is trying to put words to the same Melody. Can any of them come up with new melodies and maybe put a story to the tune. What happened to the excellent song writers if yesterday??????
Tomorrow is my 63 birthday an Bob Seger has been a part of my life for many years, kids now days don't know what music is proud to b a Seger fan
Happy birthday Ron

AMEN to that. From what I've read in all the comments Most of Us Bob Seger Fans are in Our 60's,that just means that we were young when Bob Seger hit the stage.Anyone at Any age can Appreciate the Great Songs that He wrote and played.
Just for laugh but if you are my age (68) you will get it. I have a hankering to go by myself an old Chevy pickup when I listen to this timeless song that sings to all through the ages.
That was my mom... a rock. Took care of her parents who both died at home of cancer, raised 3 daughters, taught us right from wrong, sewed our clothes, cooked, canned, baked her own bread and with my dad, a rock as well, got us through some very tough economic times.
My brother has been thru so much heart attacks, son passed at 16 in car accident, other son in prison he never gives up he's my rock, my inspiration never saw such a rock besides Jesus Christ I love you brother so much
This song reminds me of my brother too! He's had it rough too my friend. I love him and can't stand the crap he's been through!
Believe me there are not alone GOD BLESS 💔
My husband and I got married when I was18(and pregnant) and he was20. We had the most amazing marriage until cancer took him from me 13 yrs ago. This song always brings to tears because it reminds me of our many wonderful years together when we both were healthy and enjoyed life. I have not remarried. But whenever I hear this song I feel as if Bob wrote this for and about my husband. The lyrics describe my husband so closely it's uncanny. He had the looks of ZZTop and the meanest looking biker-types would make room for us to pass when they saw us coming but he was a real teddy bear unless you would mess with his family. (No one ever did, lol). I will never find another like him: a real man's man yet one who babies would call Santa Claus, much to the dismay of the parents. When I had a memorial for him one year after his death, men he hadn't worked with for 30 years came to pay their respects and to let me know he was the only white boy who could play real basketball in Indiana. Thank you Bob for making a song that is so emotionally close to the best years of my life. I know I will see him again. I still dream about him every night after all these years!!
Sorry Mam

1979, summer, I was working the summer season at the neighborhood pool! All my friends coming and going each and every day without a care. I came to work 6 days a week, day in and day out, i came. My secret was the love of my life was ripped away from me,! She and I were crazy for eachother, never missed a moment in school to look into eachtoher eyes, and dream of the future! So much love!! My heart stopped beating when it came close to her; It never waivered! Then like a lighting bolt, she was leaving. Her family amid a divorce. I was crushed, barely powder! I went too work , each night i closed i would listen to BOB Segar. It saved me. She eventually came back too town, but she was different somehow; I tried many times to reconnect, but the the dream wqs gone. I miss those days, like arock! I had a purpsoe a hope, true and beautiful! Just like my love, Kisty!

I just lost my dog. I had to put him down, but we always joked about him that this was his song. He would lay where he wanted and wouldn’t move no matter what… “Like a rock.” You would have to walk over him. I’ll always miss him.
