- Duntisbourne Abbots is a village that forms part of the Cotswold District. The village is Saxon in origin. The Cotswolds, in general, were inhabited during the Roman occupation of Britain, and it's plausible that there was a settlement in or around Duntisbourne Abbots during this period. Duntisbourne Abbots has a mix of Cotswold stone houses (some dating back to the 17th century). St Peter's Church was built in the 12th century on the site of an earlier Saxon church. The tower dates from Norman times.

I was lucky enough to grow up in the Cotswolds. I’m sure it inspired my brothers and myself to paint. I just love the way the houses seemed to be well rooted into the landscape as they’ve evolved over the centuries. It somehow gives the feeling of permanence and peace which is so reassuring especially in todays world.

I think these cottages are from the medieval era 1600's but some of the churches are way older from the 1020's

Can you hear all the gunshots and see all that violence?? Yeah me neither i wish America was this peaceful and the only crime that happens here is probably not picking up there dogs poop 💩 after you and putting it in the dog poop traxh cans..
To be walking in a area early in the morning and just hearing the loudest noises are the 🌿🍃🌲🕊️🦜🦢 and your footsteps. And maybe a 🚗 going by. Might be expensive to live but this is worth every penny. I'm using 🎧 and it seems like I'm doing the walking in my neighborhood. Maybe not TRUE but it helps me make it through the week. Its called medical stress medicine for the 🧠🫀. Millions of people need to give it a shot. Thank you sir. 🇺🇲

Title "Cotswolds Heaven" expresses all the emotions.
Charming little village, beautiful stonework throughout (although the house at 1:31 looked a little suspect). Just as I thought it couldn't be any more perfect, you were somehow able to convince several deer to scamper off on cue.
Yes that looked like a new~build but made to fit in with all the other properties, which is very nice. After a few years the stone will weather and start to look older and it will gradually blend in.

I live in Brighton. Hardly ever visit the countryside. Beautiful villages in Sussex as well. Determined to find time for country walks.

Yes, I know people live in these houses, but who are they, and what do they do for a living? I mean, here in Africa this for me is fascinating.
Many years ago these cottages would not have looked so pristine, many would have been lived in by poor working class people who mainly worked the local farms and for the local gentry with their big houses and acres of gardens. Gradually over the years, people with a little money bought them and renovated them. Later on they would sell the houses at a profit, and over the years the prices of these beautiful homes have gone up and up as people realised what a desirable place it was to live in and now they are all owned by wealthy people, many of whom retired here. Some are probably just holiday homes too.
