@@themixmasterdylanshow247 Let me know about my request PLEASE!?
My little girl lived this with her friend. She told her at school. But my little 8 year old raised holy hell and marched into the office and told everyone. The girl was saved that day. Twenty years later my daughter got a letter from her thanking her for saving her life. This video wrecks me because it so easily could have gone the other way!
this song needs to be played in every school every 6 months
Doubt that would happen, wouldn't be "PC"...
This is based on a true story. If you notice the young lady that goes into the hall, she is wearing a long sleeved turtleneck. Suggests that she is being abused. Give a listen to Three Wooden Crosses.
Actually, the class was an actual class. The girl's friend was being abused.
@@BlazingLizard09 they said three students were helped and one was removed from the bad situation.
I love the song Three Wooden Crosses. It's beautiful. Of course I love most of Randy Travis' songs.
I love the fact that you get emotional coz these are supposed to be TRUE reactions. I'd be very worried about you if you DIDNT get emotional on songs like this. You've got heart. Love it.
I play in a band with him. He's a genuinely nice guy and everything you see is real.
This song + Martina McBride's "Concrete Angel" = broken hearts EVERYWHERE...
Johnny Cash's Cover Of Hurt 😭😭😭
I got this from a different reaction video, a lady commented and said this is what the song was about:
Jason's daughter was friends with Alyssa in school and she got bullied a lot she was different when she was at home her stepdad would abuse her and her mother would do nothing to stop it Jason's daughter ended up telling him and he was going to go to school and report it but by that time it was too late Alyssa step dad had already killed her. It took him 3 years to write it and before he released it, he played at a concert. A teacher from Georgia asked for a copy of the song to play in her class and she had contacted him two months after and said that several students came forward with reports of domestic abuse in their home
I hope that helps you out a bit
Sorry, but the information above is not accurate. JMC's oldest child is a boy and he was only 8 years old in 2009, his oldest daughter is a year younger. He started writing this song in 2004, that would have made his two oldest children only 4 and 3. Way too young for this type of situation to occur. Although the story of Alyssa is based on a true story of a little girl that was not rescued from her abusive situation in time, the story is not directly personal to JMC. He did have an extremely hard time writing the song as he researched and learned more about child abuse. The song was originally inspired by a poem that JMC read, which was written by a friend of his. Let's try to make sure that if we are going to post something that it's actually facts.

as someone that was in this situation not by parents but by a half brother that was 9 years older then me. its interesting to watch people react that have no clue how the psychology of works, many things that were done to me would have put this person in prison for along time. in many cases the person being abused is told they will kill them or someone they love if they speak up, this person is already doing what they are doing to you so you believe the fully. so you are terrified to speak up. my parents never knew what was going on because they worked alot and he never left bruises where they were covered. imagine being 6 and having this happen to you. now imagine being terrified of this person and being told they will kill you if you tell anyone.
Damn, this song gets me every time I hear it and the video just kills me...
Country music Ecsp in the 90s & early 2000s tells such heart wrenching stories with their songs it’s insane.
I'm with you buddy. It makes me want to go on a rampage as well
As a survivor of child abuse, i am a mom and grandma it was rough all i wanted to do was protect them.
I like your reaction because you are the only one that showed an actual emotion to this that wasn't just the basic why.
i have seen this video many times watching other peoples reaction and i cry every single time. Just so sad!!!!!
Thanks for the real emotional sprit! Very few do, or will. Thanks again!!
Abuse and bullying need to stop. They are both area's I know and will not hesitate to step in to stop it.
One of the best reactions to this song I have seen
He wrote it as his daughter knew her.
A FUNNIER look at it is Good Bye Earl by the Dixie Chicks. Some other good ones He didn,t have to be by Brad Paisley,Gods Will by Martina Macbride, and Temporary Home by Carrie Underwood. Thanks for hanging in there.
Love your channel. You create a connection with your audience. Glad you came back. Favorite channel. God Bless!
Thank you for watching 🤘
Your observations of him are spot on @Amy. One of the good ones.
I love your pure reaction ♥️
Love these songs so. Songs😊
The first time I saw this when she left room i couldn't help but tear up
One song I think you should do is My Love Can Change That by the Eric Stuart Band, Eric Stuart is a well known voice actor for his work in Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh but also a singer/songwriter. He's mainly rock, but also adds country and folk sounds to some of his songs and music. Great song to check out, hope you'll look into doing it! :D
In an interview, Jason Carroll revealed that it took him two years to write “Alyssa Lies.” He added that it was an emotionally painful process that he actually developed migraines. The song tells the story of a father whose young daughter met a new friend at school named Alyssa. Sadly, Alyssa is being abused at home.
A lot of people miss that the little boy is an angel in Concrete Angle. It's nothing to get mad about.
Dylan: i'm ready to jump in...
me: *having seen a bunch of other reactions to this: bro, you're Really, very Not ready.
i wasn't #sadface
So glad that you’re back Dylan! Would you please react to the song that got me into country back in 1993 when I was 20 y.o. and was only interested in listening to Aerosmith, Skid Row, and Queensryche? That song was All These Years by Sawyer Brown. Thanks Bro and again, I’m very happy that you’re back and doing well!
Plano Jag good to see ya man 💪🏻
Great reaction
A happier note watch heartlands, I loved her first
Concrete angel made me mad as well
The song Alyssa Lies in not based on true story. They true story is based on what happened while the video was being watched.
How do you know that?
similar but good is concrete angel by Martinia Mcbride
I just found your channel and am enjoying your passion!
Since you mentioned checking out his other songs I have a couple of suggestions. As a "pure" country song, I would recommend Where I'm From or even Livin' Our Love Song. However, if you want a little more of a harder and uptempo sound you can go with I Can Sleep When I'm Dead.
You got a good heart.
the girl that was crying was alyssa friend
No, shes not
Hurry home is a great song by him also and I don't think it will hit you like this one did. Or listen to skin by rascal flatts very moving song so sweet
