  • Natasha Hausdorff speaks as First Opposition to the motion on 4th May 2023 at 7:30 in the Debating Chamber.
This debate will be examining Israel's military and settler presence since 1967 in the West Bank and East Jerusalem. In the wake of an especially violent year in the West Bank and the recent election of an Israeli government particularly committed to the retention and settlement of these territories, engaging with this enduring conflict is particularly vital. We will examine whether there should be more pressure on Israel to give up control of the West Bank and East Jerusalem and if doing so now is a crucial step towards lasting peace.

It appalled me how FEW of them seem to have ANY idea of the events from 1929, when the then Islamic Grand Mufti, Amin al-Husseini, himself inspired by the beliefs of Hitler, stirred up Arab Nationalism and insitigated not only the 1929 Hebron and Jerusalem massacres, but also similar persecution of the Jews still living there throughout the 1930s. THAT, inspired by Amin al-Husseini directly CAUSED the flight of Jews from all surrounding Arab States. They have DIRECT experience of what a "palestinian state" would mean !
Amin al-Husseini, THEN lived in Berlin and worked FOR the Nazis throughout WW2 propagating anti Jewish propaganda, and pro Nazi alliances amongst Arab states, which all culminated, in 1948, with ALL of the surrounding Arab nations deciding to eliminate the Jewish people altogether from the area.
They then ATTACKED them, as they are still doing today, and which Hamas has sworn to "complete".

@@rsr789 She's arguing that Israel is entitled to the whole of mandate Palestine because of an obscure principle of international law. But if that principle is to be upheld why uphold it only for Jews rather than Arabs? In 1948 Arabs were the majority. If her UPJ argument were valid (it isn't) it would have been valid in 1948. Even if it were upheld now where does that leave the Palestinians. Israel has to either 1. Accept full Arab citizenship from the river to the sea . 2. Maintain an apartheid system or 3. Ethnically cleanse the land of Palestinians. As a lawyer, which of these is she advocating?

1.Before Israel there was a British mandate, not a singular Palestinian People, Nation or State.
But a mix of Jews, Christians and Arabs (from Jordan, Egypt, Syria, Lebanon) co-existing in villages.
November 29, 1947 the United Nations adopted Resolution 181 (also known as the Partition Resolution) divided Great Britain's former Mandate into 2 Jewish and Arab states
Israel accepted the partition in 1947.
But the Arabs launched a war to murder and drive out the Jews…and have done ever since.
Wars the Arabs started, but lost.
    2. Before the British Mandate, it was the Ottoman Empire, not a Palestinian state.
    3. Before the Ottoman Empire, it was the Islamic state of Egypt’s Mamluks, not a Palestinian state.
    4. Before the establishment of the Islamic Mamluk state from Egypt, the Arab-Kurdish Empire was the Ayyubid state, not a Palestinian state.
    5. Before the Ayyubid Empire, it was the Frankish and Christian Kingdom of Jerusalem, not a Palestinian state.
    6. Before the Kingdom of Jerusalem, it was the Umayyad and Fatimid states, not a Palestinian state.
    7. Before the Umayyad and Fatimid empires, the Byzantine Empire was not a Palestinian state.
    8. Before the Byzantine Empire, there were the Sassanids, not a Palestinian state.
    9. Before the Sasanian Empire, it was the Byzantine Empire, not a Palestinian state.
    10. Before the Byzantine Empire, it was the Roman Empire, not a Palestinian state.
    11. Before the Roman Empire, it was a Hasmonean state, not a Palestinian state.
    12. Before the Hasmonean state, it was the Seleucid state, not a Palestinian state.
    13. Before the Seleucid Empire, it was Alexander’s empire, not a Palestinian state.
    14. Before Alexander’s empire, it was the Persian Empire, not a Palestinian state.
    15. Before the Persian Empire was the Babylonian Empire, not a Palestinian state.
    16. Before the Babylonian Empire, there were the kingdoms of Israel and Judah, and it was not a Palestinian state.
    17. Before the kingdoms of Israel and Judah, there was no Kingdom of Israel in the Kingdom of Israel, nor a Palestinian state.
    18. Before the Kingdom of Israel, the theocracy of the twelve tribes of Israel was not a Palestinian state.
    19. Before the theocracy of the Twelve Tribes of Israel, there was an accumulation of independent Canaanite city-kingdoms, not a Palestinian state.
    20. The truth is that in this land kingdoms fell and fell... but there was never a State or a Palestinian people.
Palestinians are Arabs and Arabs came from the Arabian Peninsula.
They are the original inhabitants of the Arabian Peninsula.
It is pure propaganda to claim that Arabs alone are the sole inhabitants of the land or that the Palestinians are distinct peoples from the Arabs.
The family names of ‘Palestinians’ are connected to their Arab lands of origin. These were names they arrived with and the DNA they retain.

    I'm 43 years old.
I grew up in Lod, Israel, city mixed with Arab and Jews.
I had Arab friends back than.
I currently live in South Tel aviv, near Jaffa, where a large Arab Community lives.
    My doctor is an Arab.
And used to be my dentist.
I saw Arabs in the Army.
    I saw Arab cops.
I worked with Arabs in the tech industry.
    I saw Arabs in hospitals.
    I saw Arabs in busses.
    In restaurants.
    There are arab lawyers.
When I jog, there's a part near the beach (Dolphinarium beach) where Arabs from Jaffa love doing bar-bi-que, they chill, they aren't bothered by anything.
Where I buy groceries, there are Arabs employees, they seem happy, they laugh and kid
I can literally talk a walk outside, just now, and see Arabs, walking freely, not bothered with anything.
Out of my own personal experience, based solely on what my eyes seen in my 43 years of living, I can tell to those people that laughed at Natasha when she said "Israeli Arabs have any freedom", without any doubts, with full authentic 43 years long, fact based confidence, that they were propagandized with lies to their core.
