Paddy, I'm working through your back catalogue while waiting for more Vietnam content and I have to tell you we were in Patong, Phuket 27 years ago and would head to Nai Harn nearly every day for lunch. There was a little ramshackled outdoor kitchen with tiled tables and stools that you sat on. It may have been the whole experience but I had the best Kway Teow noodles ever washed down with a very cold beer. There was absolutely no-one there but the resort on the right was there at that time. If memory serves me right it was called The Yacht Club or something similar. But the ride from Patong to Nai Harn was absolutely magnificent. Thanks for bring those memories alive again for us.
Phuket has everything,crazy parts and quiet,many secluded beaches and snorkeling spots,you can find great food cheap too
If only i was confident enough to ride a moped in Thailand 🤦♂️Crazy traffic on all directions puts me off ,but one of my best days out was on the back of a bike travelling the coastline ,I'd happily stay on the outskirts of anywhere in Thailand . .Great value room Paddy 👍Drone going over the Buddha and the coastline was magical mate 🙏❤️Fingers crossed i win the lottery tonight (Don't laugh )because i know exactly where i will spend the rest of my days happily ❤️Once again thank you for your time 🙏
12:51 Racha Noi and Racha Nai are popular diving locations, and there are several boats which go there most days of the week. I would not recommend taking a longtail there, as the water can be pretty choppy on the way. It's across enough open sea that you can get pretty big waves.
I love Rawai. It's such a relaxing spot on an otherwise "touristy" island. Very chill community. And filled with exceptionally nice people.
In two years I will be retiring to Phuket as it has everything you could possibly want. Beautiful beaches and mountains and sea views. This was one of your best videos ever Paddy.
I'm doing the same thing! Well, retiring here part of the year, and in the Philippines part of the year. Phuket is an awesome island! I don't think you can beat it, and if my wife wasn't a Filipina I would spend all of my time on the island, lol.
I started out watching ride4kicks, watched all his stuff, discovered Karl Watson, watched the lot, found 2pasports, watched it all, found backpacking bananas , watched most of that and I kept seeing you pop up in to some of those . Watched your Thairish Times interview. I’d think ‘who is this guy, he’s bugging me 😂’ so I went to your channel and have just caught up from the start and now I love you ! What am I going to watch now 🥲. Loved every minute!

Phuket is just amazing, one of the best places in Thailand to holiday. So beautiful, so many restaurants and so much to do! The beaches are just amazingly beautiful. Patong looks like it is happening again, I prefer the quieter beaches Rawai, Ao Sane Beach and Nai Han Beach. Just chill and relax on the beach. Another awesome video Paddy. Looking for ward to more!

I enjoyed watching this video of Rawai. I live here since 6 years now. You passed a few meters from my house when you turned to go to Karon View Point. By the way don't buy beers in restaurants. Go to 7 Elevent and grab one there for 30 bath less ;)

Have you heard a “Freedom beach” in Phuket ? It is a secret hippie beach besides Phatong beach and you can’t drive to the beach but have to climb and trail 2 hills to reach the beach
Freedom Beach is a great beach! So beautiful, but then again, there area countless beaches here on Phuket that are great! Banana Beach is another great kind of hidden beach between Bang Ta beach and Nai Thon beach. Some good snorkeling there, too.
Nai Harn and Ao Sane Beach are also my favorite Beaches in Phuket 😀🙋🏻
The bar with huge wooden porches on the cliff at 15:52, has amazing wiew and also rooms to rent with a small pool on the edge. Behind the catamaran at 15:52.

Black Rock Viewpoint in Phuket(in Thai called Pha Hin Dum) is another beautiful place to visit.
Many paraglidings up there and the view from the top is absolutely stunning.

I've lived in Rawai at two different points in my life and was fantastic to see it through your eyes. I too loved Naiharn Lake to start my days followed with a morning beach swim, a watermelon smoothie and then the day is open to explore. Consider Bang Taos beautiful beach et all if it's not on your Phuket list. Looking forward to your next chapter! Best wishes!🙂ox

Cannot ride motorbike to beach. Get 4wd transport from top of road. Good Scuba diving right off Nui Beach. Scuba shop on Beach. Great coral. Don’t eat the shrimp Pad Thai from bar.

I'm glad you're showing some other parts of Phuket. The only parts of Phuket I had heard of before this series was Phuket Town and Patong. Come to find out, Phuket Island is HUGE! And there are many different areas besides those 2 lol
it really is massive!
There are so many beaches...Nai Yang, Bang Tao, Kamala, Surin, Freedom Beach, Ao Yon, to name a few. All of them are great beaches. Phuket island is amazing, I've been coming here almost every year for the last 7 years. I spent almost 4 months here during the outbreak of covid, and I'm spending six months here now. Phuket is where it's at, it has so much to offer.

Visited Phuket the year before and the year after the Tsunami, Yanui Beach was completely smashed up after, you could see the tide mark 3/4s of the way up the hill to the right of the beach. Nice see its recovered as its one one my all time favourite beaches.
I shot a vid of myself getting a haircut in Thailand a few years ago, and the music playing at 7.30 is what was being played in the shop and I've always wondered who the singer/song was called if anyone knows?
A lot of people think Phuket is only the stuff you hear about on Bangla road, but it's such a big island with so many great beaches, winding roads (nice for a lazy scooter ride), great views, etc. There are also nice diving day trips which embark from the island. Question: did you do the insurance/permit thing for your drone, or do they not really care? I know officially it's required, but so is a driving license... and we know how insignificant and normalized the driving license penalty is.
Hi Paddy, loved yr videos. One correction: that beach & lake u showed is Nai Harn not Rawai, which is situated just right next to it that might cause the mix up to most people.

Another Great Slice of Life PD. Yes Rawaii beach is somewhat dissapointing. Not unlike Pattaya beach. Both places you think, "Is this it???" (Maybe spoilt by the beaches of Queensland) But yes many nearby great beaches in the Phuket with loads of personality. Phuket island is in fact the largest island in Thailand. Followed by Koh Samui followed by Koh Chang. PS. You are very good on that bike. You dont look like a bike guy but you are quite the expert. I always kept off them, apart from scooter taxi riders when going home from late night bar sessions, who are invariably anaebriated or stoned. But that's what makes Thailand different and whacky. Enjoy.

Great vid. Rawai and Nai Han both look lovely for different reasons. Having that lake is definately an inspiration to exercise. Are there many local eateries around those parts or just restaurants catering to foreign tourists? The best subtitle caption came up when you were saying cheers to us from Ao Sane Beach " I'll sane, chop the cabbage"!!!

I was at those 4 beaches back in August 2021 during the Sandbox programme and I don't think I saw more than 3/4 people on each beach and the weather was just like it is now An amazing part of Thailand.

Haha, so cool - I stayed at Number 4 for a couple of weeks last November. I copped a fair bit of construction noise from buildings on both sides, but still enjoyed my stay. It's a great area, near beautiful Nai Harn beach, and with so many nice restaurants so close. Can't wait to be back there later this year.

There's nothing like Phuket, one of the best places around in my humble opinion. I LOVE the island, and I love Phuket Town, because it's even cheaper than everywhere else, and I can get to just about any beach I want to get to in 20 to 30 minutes. Food is less here, the rooms are less, and it's not too touristy. I am no fan of Patong and Bangla Road, I have no use for those places, Phuket Town is where it's at. I love the mall, the multitude of night markets around Phuket Town which include Chillva Night Market, the night market at the Big "G" supermarket on Mon, Tues, and Wednesday nights, Naka Night Market on the weekends, and Sunday Night Market in Old Town. Great food on the cheap, and amazing deals on everything from clothes to electronics. You can't beat Phuket Town, again in my opinion! I've stayed in this town now, five of the last eight years for extended periods of time, this trip for six months...with a visa run coming up for four days to Kuala Lumpur.

Paddy, how does Rawai compare to the area where you stayed on Samui, particularly for a longer-term (six months or more) stay? Does one of them offer more variety or better value, for example, or are they equally fantastic. Congratulations on finishing your epic journey through Thailand! Cheers.

Phuket looks amazing,maybe too many ferang around(perhaps not yet),I prefer,if possible,those out of the way places which the locals visit,but not too many tourists-many areas which you have shown us on your travels!
You should´nt put your laptop on a soft surface, it needs to breathe , the fan will overheat, and eventually stop working, I repair these things for a living, and i´ve seen overheating problems many times.
