I never would imagine a day. where two iconic comedic characters from Aladdin. would be in heaven. making their jokes up there. RIP gilbert gottfried
You never know when you're gonna go, it's like when I look and see a 35 year old die, I'm like, " but I'm 38..."
and then Gilbert dies and he's 67 and I'm like " But I'm 38 ... I'm a little over halfway there..."
I am constantly in fear of death and what it means and how fast its approaching me as I get older, it's just a very hard thing to fathom and this thought process began when Robin Williams died and is in no way to live.

The only other VA death that hit me this hard in the feels was Rick May. I'm not sure what we'll do without Gilbert, the man was phenomenal. As a child, I loved Aladdin, but never knew Iago's voice actor. Then I kept hearing his voice across other media, and he immediately became one of my favorite celebrities. Rest in peace Gilbert, the greatest mind of his time.

The last cartoon he was in was smiling friends, cannot get over that he played so many roles live action or cartoons. He will be missed and was a cultural icon.
Not having him in cartoons anymore is really the end of an era. It's like how we don't get prison warden/drill sergeant characters from R Lee Ermey anymore. It's just different now.

My condolences to Gilbert’s family, friends, and loved ones. May he now rest in peace alongside Norm, Bob, and Louie. I deeply miss him. He’s deeply missed.
Gilbert Gottfried is a legend, and had an undeniable impact on my life. Growing up, we only had the most basic cable package, meaning that up until 4th grade the only children’s television I was watching was PBS kids.
Thus, I knew Gilbert first as Digit on Cyberchase, a show which was definitely one of the main reasons I’d always been so interested in math, to the point where I’m currently pursuing my graduate education in it. The entertainment Gilbert provided literally helped steer me down my current career path.

Hearing this was a massive nuke to my mind. I remember a lot of Gilbert’s roles from my childhood, like Iago the Parrot from Aladdin, Dr Bender from Fairly Odd Parents, and Kraang Sub-Prime from TMNT 2012. This guy was a comedian that I could instantly recognize with his voice and delivery. I’m gonna miss him and I wish his family and friends the best.
My introduction to Gilbert Gottfried was through an early 2000s cartoon called "Cyberchase", his character was a weird sort of bird creature and his voice and character was the only thing that made me like that show as a kid growing up in Mexico.
I REMEMBER CYBERCHASE!!!!!! GODDAMN THAT SHOW HAD SOME WACKY CGI. no wonder i get a bit of deja vu whenever i hear his voice.

I used to love him on the Stern show, kind of out of left field thing but holy crap everytime he went on it was amazing. I used to listen to like a 8 hour compilation of him on there since the 90s and it was literally funny for the entire duration. This was removed from yt a while ago and is sorely missed.

Honestly it's a shame I didn't watch many things with Gilbert in it because he's a great a guy and it's unfortunate that he passed away, he wasn't even that old but he's one of those celebrities I actually like because he loved what he was doing, he was aware of himself, he wanted to fit in to our times, do funny stuff and act in them like the Cameos. I think one of the saddest parts of growing old is seeing the amazingly talented people whom you admired suddenly die. I've lost count of just how many men and women that I grew up idolizing suddenly passed away: Robin Williams, Carrey Fisher, Adam West, Chester Bennington, Stan Lee, Stephen Hillenburg, John Witherspoon, Kentaro Miura, Betty White, Meatloaf, and now Gilbert Gottfried. He was easily one of the funniest people I've ever seen. I remember first discovering him back when I was just 14 and his jokes always made me die of laughter. He contributed a lot to my raunchy sense of humor, and I'll always be eternally thankful to him. May he rest in peace.
I still have a cameo me and my dad split on for him to sing like marilyn Monroe for my Mom's birthday. And he delivered it amazingly. Made my mother laugh her ass off, pretty much one of her best birthdays just for that. I'm actually crying right now just from watching this. This man was an icon and someone I looked up to so much. I just hope he's in a good place now. Knowing that he was one of the greatest comedians to walk on this earth.
