    Wow, great find with the July LP. I live in Lincoln, NE but sadly I've never found anything here as cool as that.

      Well hello, fellow Lincoln viewer! Nice to know someone in town watches me. Many of these were found here, unreal!

    Great vlog, love your dialogue, makes these recordings more interesting! I have Alice Coopers debut album Pretties for You, there’s a track Levity Ball that’s heavily influenced by Syd Barrett, Glen Buxton the guitarist and the band hung out with Pink Floyd on their 1967 tour of the U.S. Another track Reflected which was their first single was later re-written Elected! Also I turned 18 a month before the single was released in 1970, plus I passed Alice Cooper (Vincent Furnier) in the street in London in the 70’s, we both acknowledged each other with a thumbs up 👍. I have all the early Pink Floyd singles, I loved collecting singles back in the 70’s, plus lots of original punk singles 😊

    Hey Derek, getting the New Year off to a great start by catching up to your video here. Easy Action is a great early Alice Cooper LP - love that one. Stooges first is a classic, and the Iggster continues to amaze, even to this day. What a survivor. That Dragonfly LP is relentless. My brother had the original vinyl but we made a mistake and sold it a long time ago, not really knowing its value and impact. So, I reacquired it on a vinyl reissue. Live and learn. Wow, that UK Pink Floyd piece is beautiful - what a find, expecially with that bright Columbis sleeve and the special note! I have that July on a CD rip. And your statement about the style and sounds from the psych era never going to happen again is true. No one these days is making anything even remotely close to what was created back then. You had great luck with those finds. Congrats, and Happy New Year!

    Hey Derek! You had a great year. I also found a bunch of cool psychedelic records as I tried to focus more on that genre instead of just buying whatever interests me at the moment. Take care Brian ☮️

    Pretty cool Top Ten Derek. Nice to see a couple of U.K. bands in there too. The Stooges, Alice Cooper and Elevators are all essentials indeed. The first two Alice Cooper albums are my faves of theirs, and luckily, I managed to grab original pressings. The Elevators' "Easter" is their classic, which I doubt I'll ever get my hands on due to rarity 'n cost, but one can dream.

      I didn't seem to go crazy on anything overseas as far as imports like last year. A boost in consistent sales really helped me last time.

    Finding records locally is always the best! The Byrds promo is sweet, would love to find that one day. I didn't know about that Alice Cooper, I'll definitely look out for that. I love that British Psych mod stuff similar to the Smoke. I have a reissue, but I'd love an og. Dragonfly is incredible, I've heard the og press sounds amazing so I'd love to hear it. Rick Wrights songs in the early Pink Floyd stuff always stood out to me. July is one of my most wanted records and I stream it a ton online. That radio station copy is awesome! You had some really amazing finds this year! I hope next year brings you some more! ✌️

    Money is tight and records are more expensive, so I really regret waisting $35 on The Group Image / A Mouth In The Clouds. Not a bad album, I just already had it and forgot!

    Nearly all of these I would love to have, or would consider best finds in a year. Still have original Elevators records but not looking aggressively because condition and price is the constant problem. I had Easter Everywhere but returned it because it was rougher than seller led on. The Smoke probably generates the most jealousy for me since I've known about that one for like 20 years. I have to check my Stooges again. Think my copies could use an upgrade though I do have the non-Stooges logo version. Be well! and oh that Floyd promo is amazing

    • @PsycheDerek.
      @PsycheDerek.  Před 7 měsíci

      That's exactly what I've found out considering the Elevators, the price & condition never match. I nearly left the Floyd promo behind, but I thought to myself I'll never see that again. I hope to focus more on imports or foreign releases this year. It's a challenge I'm aiming for haha. Thanks Dom!

    I just turned 57 and have been in to rare and obscure rock music my whole life it's a great hobby. As far as this type of subject I think you are the best going right now, I mean you really come up with some rare stuff. A few of the guys that were around when you first started are pretty much gone now. I used to really like Dan at Dots and Loops but he disappeared, I actually thought he was good and he could make me laugh also. Keep up the good work you expose people to a lot of cool stuff.

    Nice finds for your psychedelic shack! ...yep, that New Colony Six LP is now extremely hard to find - wondering if it has been re-issued... I distinctly remember that when that Stooges LP came out when I was a kid - I used to crank the volume way up and everyone hated it! Amazingly, I found a NM original U.K. import copy of Masters Apprentices for $30 at the local co-op. Love that Dragonfly LP - used to have an original back in the day - found it for 3/1.00 in the late 70's at the Record Museum's bargain basement in Philly. Wish I hadn't sold it! ...Happy Holidaze all!

      Sundazed reissued Breakthrough, I think its still fairly obtainable. You always have some cool stories to go along with your finds from the past. Thanks!

    I would be stoked to find that July album. My copy of The Stooges has a radio station stamp from 1969 on it. Got it decades ago for a buck or so. Easter Everywhere, my copy is my pride and joy. It was a virtually unplayed absolute mint copy when I bought it over 40 years ago. Now the vinyl is VG++ and the cover is M-. Mono promo. I paid $50 for it. At the time that was big $$ for me but it was definately worth it. I didn't know Easy Action was ever on Bizarre. I bought it when it came out. My Pretties is on that first Straight label. Anyways..some fantastic finds!

    • @PsycheDerek.
      @PsycheDerek.  Před 7 měsíci +1

      I think the story behind it being on Bizarre is they were pressing copies of the Zapped compilation & may have accidentally printed it on Easy Action or ran out of Straight labels. A misprint of sorts. I don't think the shop knew what they had.

    Hello Derek, I'm an Alice Cooper record collector based in the UK. I enjoyed your video. I own a copy of Easy Action on the Bizarre label. Considered to be a mispress, they are very sought after by Alice Cooper collectors. I have recorded my copy on the facebook page you mentioned. At one stage I owned two. A very nice find by you. Obviously condition is important but they have sold around the $600 mark.

    • @PsycheDerek.
      @PsycheDerek.  Před 7 měsíci +1

      It's a very playable, sturdy copy. I don't know how it flew over their heads at the shop. Almost as strange as finding Love It To Death on the Straight label. I've found a couple in person before, but pretty elusive.

    • @christopherjdaniels
      @christopherjdaniels Před 7 měsíci

      @@PsycheDerek. I'm an Alice Cooper collector & have all the different Straight Records variations for Love It To Death. Available are the USA white labelled promo, USA stock copy, French pressing, German pressing which has a pink, white & black label, & the UK pressing. All have thumb covers except for the UK pressing. With Easy Action there are only USA & UK Straight pressings. There is a cover variation with EASY ACTION in just black lettering rather than the black & white lettering.
      Pretties For You has the most Straight Records variations. Three USA stock copies, white labelled promo's for the first & third USA pressings. Also Canadian, French, German & UK stock copy pressings.
      A great project for the Alice Cooper collector to get at least one of each of all these different pressings & I have achieved that.

    I think that easy action is brilliant and it's a great buy, I love early Alice cooper also and didn't realise for years that Alice cooper were a group I didn't like Alice cooper solo though, I have a German only sleeve of Sydney gyll which is brilliant, I paid £300 for that dragonfly album this year in the UK because their impossible to get here in the UK, I would love to own that easter everywhere, wow that pink Floyd is unreal how did that get to that place in America, it's an amazing load of records and then at the end the July album absolutely amazing and what you said is why I love the 60s music so much and I was born in London in 66 so I missed out but started getting into it when the perfumed garden album came out and the chocolate soup albums first couple that is, funny enough Sydney gill is on the perfumed garden took me 30 years to get it
