    Love your videos!
    Pete is a genius and knows how to make serious horsepower out of Frankenstein engines he builds. Thanks for your videos!

    Great video and congrats on the run! Do you think the canopy popping open scrubbed the aero any? Maybe a couple more mph in it?

    The fixer that scoop is easy . The opening is too large . The pressure will equalize in the back with less RAM

    Awesome job, but please tell me what engine are you running?

      This is the only motor in the world to exist. Pete Aardema 80 years old made the block from scratch and used Indy Aurora heads which he cut down and welded together. It produces 920hp at 9800 rpm. If you browse my CZcams channel you will see a couple other videos with close ups of the motor and Pete’s machine shop.

      @@GregQuirin I will take a look at it. This is what is so impressive about land speed racing. The innovation is so impressive. And then to hand build an engine and run it that hard and go 278mph. Few people have no idea of what it takes to do this. Very impressive.

    Seriously fast but why is the cockpit such a piece of shit on every land speed record car I've ever seen. Seriously, zero f@#ks given to mounting instruments, switches etc. Even the steering wheel looks like it it was made from the leftover of a shitty garden chair with ratty tape wrapped around it. As a driver I'd be seriously wondering what that meant for the rest of the car in relation to my safety....ie. does anyone who helped build the car actually give a shit beyond the bare bones necessary to make it fast?

  • @machtschnell7452
    @machtschnell7452 Před 2 lety +1

    So about as fast as a Königsegg in a straight line? Not bad, but the Königsegg could have driven there and back, so there is that.

    • @bumpedhishead636
      @bumpedhishead636 Před 2 lety +11

      Do you have any understanding of racing classes? This is a naturally aspirated engine of less than 370 ci, running in a car with all four tires completely outside the body. Take the turbochargers & fenders off the Königsegg and see how fast you run on the salt.
